Dragon Magazine General Discussion

Just wondering if there is any real possibility of there being a collected book/mag of the demonomicon articles. It's supposedly very popular so I think it would sell very well. Anyone "in the know" have any info?

In a releated story, I see that the first online issue of Dungeon will have a new entry (Graz'zt). Will the series continue after that, James? Would really love to see Obox-Ob and the other obyriths...
Any info would be great!

I'll keep writing Demonomicons as long as I kep enjoying writing them, so yeah, I would assume that they'll still keep coming along as long as WotC wants to continue the seires.

Any book we want to do has to go by WotC first, of course. So who knows?

when you run out of demons to write about you mean. Personally, I think everyone at WotC considers you to be the paramount expert on all matters demonic. They'll let you continue writing them until you start growing horns and breathing smoke.

But wouldn't that make JJ more qualified?

You can also be overqualified ;-)

Yes, one can even be overqualified in the Abyss it would seem.

That usually translates into convoluted plots to overthrow you and feed you to the greedy ... er, " daring and heroic ", yeah, yeah ... paws of mortals from across the many Material worlds.

Or, to quote the mantra on the Expedition to the Demonweb Pits (well, probably paraphrased, I'm bad about that):

Go to the Abyss. Kill all the demons. Take thier stuff.

Or something like that.

No, no. That's perfectly normal. When you become overqualified, you start hatching convoluted plots to overthrow yourself... And they start working.

Silver Crusade

More demonomicon articles (and maybe Core Beliefs too) might be the one thing that would actually convince me to subscribe to the online Dragon.

What did you say about an AoW Hardcover? Oh, nothing, my bad...

Oh of course, silly me. I guess demons have higher standards than mortals regarding intra-office politicking ... ^_^

Well, Graz'zt is scheduled for the first online issue. Author: James Jacobs. I might have to have a look, though I'll probably go back to my old habit of buying only the ones that have lots of good stuff in them.

I believe the first few issues of Dragon and Dungeon are free.

I sorry Core Belifes are just a wast. No stats of the god or a lower level version like an aspect. Just IMHO bad

Now demonomicon is the exact opposite. It's great gives you a preteige class, a 20+version of the monster AND a 8-10 version. That is a great thing who ever pushed or throught that up big pat on the back. You get information about their cult/organization and it's great.

Compare that to core. No preteige class, no aspect, no nothing. OH yeah lots of talking about their faith...sorry cult/organizaion.

"No nothing"? Untrue. You get new spells related to the gods in Core Beliefs, as well as a creature you can call on with the Planar Ally spells. Many of the Core Beliefs also contain new items related to the faith. That's a good amount of "crunch."

I honestly think it is more important to present information useful to roleplaying a member of the faith in the CB articles than it is to provide stats for the god, its aspect, and a prestige class.
