Hey all! I am an avid Dungeon reader. Since I have read all 3 AP's, I know them pretty well. I am currently running SCAP. Someone else will be running AoW by the time the Holidays roll around.
I know AoW pretty well, so in the spirit of not meta-gaming and being fairly experienced for 15 years, I am looking for suggestions that involve interesting and/or challenging characters. Here's the rundown:
1. 32 point buy
2. 7 players. The basics will be covered.
3. I have read the whole campaign, so I will not be taking any lead roles.
4. I have all the splat books, including stuff like Dragon Compendium, Tome of Magic, etc.
- Fighter: Longspear + spiked gauntlet: reach, and slap anyone that comes too close until short haft(if I feel like getting Short haft!)
- Archery ranger. many shot, shot on the run. run around battlefield like chicken with head cut off.
- Monk/ninja ascetic stalker
- 1/2orc druid shifter(phb2 variant)
- dual wielding ranger with throwing axes. get rapid shot and quick draw and just throw and swing however i darn well please!
- Fighter/bard
I have a few more, but they are relatively standard. If there was ever a time where you asked yourself, "I wonder what how an X would fare in the AoW?" Now is the time to post!
Your suggestions are appreciated! I will be sure to share future exploits, my character choice, and all the awesome ways I will die/make a fool of myself for humor purposes!
The archery ranger sounds like you might want to take Scout instead. They are the mobile archery specialists. Maybe a Scout/Ranger to combine Skirmish with favored enemy damage bonus.
Hobbit ranger, master o' de axes ... carry throwing axes, greataxes (small sized of course) ... eat your chow with a hatchet ... trim your pipeweed with a mini-hatchet ... "axe" people questions ...

Greatsword "his girlfriend, named Jolene" -how hes capable of remembering and pronouncing that is a absolute mystery! Maybe it even turns sentinent over time?
Fasthealing keeps him hitting, perhaps even from dying.. ;)
All those weapon focus whatever feats
& charging like a dimwitted crazy, which he actually is.
Oh yeah, and keeps saving to afford a 1/2 dragon shape ring (the ice and cold sourcebook -1/2dragon template for 64k. Even more strength... DEMANDS belts of strength etc.."Everything below 40 in strength is pathetically weak! 50 is fullgrown warriors strength!!!")
ie 18+4(orc)+4(feral)+8(½dragon)+6(belt)+5(inherent)+5(wishes) = 50 ;)

Awesome ... 'cept that the bonus to ability scores granted from wishes I do recall are inherent bonuses, but tack in all your level up points and you're gold at a whopping 50 STR.
Although I will definitely have to look at Frostburn again, a ring granting half-dragon template ...

Yeah, frostburn, that was its name.. the ring was detailed for white dragon, but as those are now all the same red, green whatever.. shouldn't be any difference what you pick.
Green for orc.. or maybe black.. just on aesthetics.
Red or gold for the fire immunity likely makes most sense.. rules wise.

Ability score advancement bonuses are not typed - what doesn't stack are wishes with the inherent bonus books, which are granting the same type of bonus. My apologies if there is any confusion.
Feral, is that a Savage Species template by any chance ?
