Try going to your My Account page (link at the top of the Paizo site) and clicking on the My Downloads link on the right-hand side. If your PDFs have been released, they should show up there.

Paul, go to your My Downloads page, click the "Personalize this file" link, wait 10-20 seconds, then click the "check back" link. By then the "download this file" link should be ready and you can click that to download your PDF.

It does show up on the DL page. However, item #2 below the picture of the issue says "Download This File", is in a green font and isn't a hotkey, so I can't actually download anything. Both of the links connected to the picture of the product and the name of the product take me to Paizo's Blog, not to the PDF, so no luck there either. I've e-mailed customer service, so hopefully they will figure out what's going on soon.

Yes! I finally got the PDF! I was wondering how long it would take for us non-charter subscribers to finally get this. Thanks to everyone at Paizo for all their hard work.

Hi Gary,

Thanks for the help. I just logged in again and this time it's there. I'm downloading it as I type. =)

I had problems downloading this in Opera. I would press Personalize, and then it would seemingly just refresh the screen and I'd be there on the page on where I pressed Personalize. I had to use Internet Exploder to personalize and download the file. It worked that way.

Edit: Nevermind, it seems to work in Opera, too. It just too a long time.

You guys do have Australia and New Zealand in your list of actual countries to deliver the PDF's to?

still nothing here in Australia (have any internationals got it?).

My wife would like to thank you for providing her with much amusement over the past few days. She has enjoyed laughing at me as I check the emails saying "maybe it is here" only to say "still nothing".

Sorry to be pushy Gary, but do you have any idea of when international subscribers will receive their PDFs? I don't need it to be super-quick, I just want a time. Or if anyone else already has the answer, feel free to post and tell me I'm an idiot :D. Keep up the good work.

Everyone in the world seems to have it except us and some dodgy country in Central Africa.

International subscribers should start getting access to the PDF beginning tomorrow. Because we have to print a packing slip, scan it, print postage, print customs forms, sign the forms, and attach to each order, this process will likely take several days.

We are discussing ways to speed this process up for the next volume, but the requirement that we deal with customs forms for each order means that there isn't much we can do. (Stupid laws of physics!)

Glad to hear it! BTW, I noticed that my bank account has not been authorized, that is the bank has not "set aside" any money for the transaction (although there is plenty of funds available), should I be concerned?

Thanks so much Gary, just wanting to say that despite the delays I'm very impressed with the personable way Paizo handles things. Hopefully this subscription will be the first of many Paizo-related purchases.

When I was in Iraq, I got packages from Amazon with automated customs forms and digital signatures. No idea if that's helpful.

Well, it's good to know it is coming. I have resisted posting about his until now cause I know how busy you all must be, and I have been trying to keep a lid on my frustrations. But this does prompt one question.

Why can't you charge our credit card and give us access to the pdf at the start of this process instead of at the end? I really don't mind if the print copy takes a few more days (shipping will probably be a month or more anyway), but I would like to get the pdf ASAP.

I have a group planning on starting this on Friay, and with the original timeframe of last monday, I figured I would have plenty of time to not only get the first issue, but also read it through thoroughly, but now it is looking like I will be lucky to even have a copy by then, and I'll have to hope I an run it with minimum prep time.

Liberty's Edge

I'm in the U.S. Still no charge to my card, and still no Pathfinder... Are there any problems, or are you still working on the US customers with only a Pathfinder Charter Subscription? I do have access to the players guide though.

We do actually have automated customs forms—but it's not the printing of the form that's the problem. It's the fact that, for the US, we can just spool out reams of postage labels and stick them on any package with the correct contents. For foreign shipments, the postage label (which comes out of a label printer) and the matching customs form (which comes out of a laser printer, at a different speed) must be applied to the same package, so we basically have to handle them one at a time.

Well, as soon as we look at your order, we do just that. It's just that we can't look at all orders simultaneously or instantaneously, so there's a queue, and that queue is organized in the way that fulfills the most people the fastest.

If you're suggesting we process everybody's PDFs first, and then everybody's print copies, that would make the whole process take much longer, as we'd essentially have to process the queue twice.

But we'll work on making it possible to break international orders into their own queue, so we can process them simultaneously.

I suppose my question really breaks down to why we (International buyers) have to wait until you actually look at our order first? Why not, as soon as the label is printed, you charge our credit card, and then we get access to the pdf. I am just not seeing why I need to wait for all the customs and stuff to get done before you charge me and give me access to the pdf. Print the label, charge my credit card, give me access to the pdf, then worry about stuffing around with customs and stuff.

Once we have the PDFs, we probably are not that bothered about the print version - it will take ages to get to us anyway as overseas customers. The PDF is doubly important to us because it allows us to be reasonably up-to-date with our US peers, we can start playing the game, and talk about it on the boards. If you end up with a two-tier process - fine, I'm not bothered. Whether it makes sense for you commercially is another matter of course, but in terms of customer service it might be worth considering.

Ahh Ok.. I see, it is not that Us in the Military overseas are being screwed over because you are shipping to us as an International Shipment but it is because even though we are considered a Delivery in the US you do still need a Customs Form *Stupid Laws!!* which slows the process down.

I like to make a suggestion for next time. DO NOT base when you can get the PDF on when your stuff is shiped but give it do us all on the same date so for example ones like us that are consedered US Subscribers but still need Customs forms get them at the same time...

I would Suggest you charge everyone for the product the day the PDF is released and not on when the Book is Shiped, though most should be shipped the same day.

I WANT MY PDF!!! :-p (Reminds me of I WANT MY MTV days)

To add insult to injury, I just had my wallet stolen two days ago and therefore had to cancel my VISA card... it's going to take a little time for me to get a replacement card and in the meantime I can't be billed for Pathfinder, which means that it'll be even longer before I'm able to get it (and oh how I can just barely wait for my players to be told about this)...
Of course, this wouldn't have had any impact if I had been charged two days ago like all the US customers (I live in Europe), now would it!?! :-p

I just want to add that charging somebody before the product ships is also against the VISA and Mastercard rules and if we did it and were caught, we could have our rights to take VISA and Mastercard revoked. Which would make for a pretty lame online store. :) So as much as it hurts to have to wait, there isn't much we can do about it at this stage.

Well, that's the thing. We're being charged for the physical book, while being charged for the pdf (with instant "shipping") would have given us all access to it at the same time (yes, I've read the "we'd have to do it all over again for the printed books then" comments too - I just feel, like others have also pointed out, that there must be an easier way to do it).

If I had perfect solution I'd gladly offer it, however it's not exactly my specialty area.
The closest thing to a better solution I can come up with off the top of my head is something like having two databases, one for domestic and one for international customers and then have them run/print/etc. the orders at the same time (i.e. two different computers, label printers and whatnot).

That is a good point. All you need to do is change your perception a bit. Right now we buy the print issue and get the PDF for free. If you just change that to: Buy the PDF, get the print issue for free (just call the shipping cost a "service charge"), then there wouldn't be a problem making it available to everyone at the same time.

They've said that they'll fix it for next time, so now it's just a matter of waiting until they sort this issue out. :) They're hoping to get a lot of us our PDFs today, and everybody by the end of the week. It's all down to the waiting at this point. :)

Pathfinder: Rise of the Runelords Player's Guide (OGL)

This product is now available as a free PDF download: 4.2MB zip PDF.

D'oh! Of course it's that. I read it ages ago; I don't know why I mindlessly checked my downloads instead of engaging my brain.

Good parrot. Here's a cracker.

Another glorious day has dawned in the exotic Southern Ocean location of Wellington (that's in New Zealand, a little north of Antarctica for the geographically challenged). No wind, no clouds, and of course, ..., still no PDF.
I shall now go and proselytize to the unwashed masses, or maybe flagellate myself, as penance for my misguided enthusiasm.

Has anyone outside the US got one yet?

Nope, nothing. But I keep having faith in Paizo :). It's just so hard to look at all those "Now that we've got PF" threads!

Me neither - but I draw comfort from the fact that others suffer as I do.

I'm holding out for delivery by Friday, and perusal over the bank holiday weekend.

We started to ship out international subscriptions today. Actually I was doing it myself tonight. We have a bunch to go through still, and hopefully the guys will get them done tomorrow. No promises though. You should have seen the lady from the Post Office when she saw the bins of Pathfinders waiting to go out. I thought she was going to cry. :)

We are working as hard as we can to get all these out the door. I am sorry it is taking so long. We will try to make some improvements for the second Pathfinder to make it even quicker.

Thanks for the update. I'm just concerned that according to the plan I had heard was that the US Subscribers were going out first, and then you would be working on the international subscribers after that. Since I live in the US I was concerned with the fact that I haven't received anything about it.

I know you all are doing everything you can, but it is really hard to be patient now that I've seen the players guide. I can hardly wait for my Pathfinder.
