I've seen all the postings about item cards, and LOVE the critical hit deck. I've even seen suggestions for a critical fumble deck (which I also like). BUT...
Has anyone thought of Random Encounter decks? You could have theme decks based on different terrain and party level, and each card could have the encounter's full stats for monsters and/or NPCs. The cards could be oversized, with art and text combined.
I may be crazy, but I know I would use something like this. What do you all think?

I would think the cards wouldn't have to be oversized- look at the RPG side of the D&D minis cards. They've got most of a statblock and a bit of art.
Something like this could be cool, but I don't know how feasible it would be. They'd have to be in a couple of sets, I think.
And I'd be crabby you could never encounter a beholder (or any other non-OGL monster)in a deck like this.

Meh, I like the variability of encounter tables based on very specific campaign regions rather than general terrain type. Traveling through the the jungles in Xen'drik would yield different encounters than traveling through the jungles of Q'barra, if you catch my meaning.
However, I could see how it might be useful to have the stats on hand right as you randomly select. Plus buying multiple decks of a specific terrain could allow one to create custom decks suited for specific regions. Hmm...

If not a random encounter monster deck, you could always do a new monsters deck.
Each card has the stats of a new beastie on one side and a full-color pic on the other side. They could be the same size as a normal trading card (I'm thinking like MtG size.) and would be cheaper (or at least I would think...maybe cards are like REALLY expensive) than a book.
You could have everyone submit monsters for the decks, and each deck would have a smattering of talent from all of Paizo's best...as well as some never before seen freelancers.

Heh, stop spying on us. ;P
We've talked about doing something like this, but again, larger cards are ridiculously expensive (far, far, far more expensive than books and playing-card-sized cards). We also talked about doing playing-card-sized decks, but you just can't do a monster justice at that size (and yes, we're aware of the D&D Miniatures cards).

I liked the idea, but they weren't that good. I held onto my decks for nostalgia sake.
I think it could be done better, but I would use these as lessons to be learned.
I think the baseball card size would be appropriate, just don't make the font too small and utilize both sides of the card.
The spell cards would be nice as well. Some spells could be a bit on the long side though (ex, Dispel Magic). New OGL cards would be nice.
Monsters, always a good investment. Stats on one side, pic on the other? Of course, the new Stat Block might not work well...
