Does Bruce Campbell play D&D?

Dungeon Magazine General Discussion

I received issue 149 yesterday. I tend to read the author's appreciations before delving into an adventure. Stephen Happ thanks his playtesters, including Bruce Campbell. Now I'm very happy that Wesley Crusher enjoys D&D, but Ash--oh that is great. Does anyone have stats for a chainsaw?

Don't forget the bionic hand and the boomstick.

While we often joke about it, the Bruce Campbell who is given playtesting credits in "Twisted Night" is not the Bruce Campbell of B-movie fame.

He is in fact, a Paizo messageboard poster known as Ray'kal and taught me to play D&D 27 years ago in Junior High. He is my co-DM for our gaming group as we alternate between FR and GH (I run GH, he runs FR).

Oh, and BTW--

Chainsaw (exotic melee weapon), 2 handed, Damage 1d12 plus 1d4 sonic if improperly maintained, Crit x4, rolling a 1 means the chainsaw runs out of gas. If you buy the chainsaw at S-Mart it never runs out of gas. "Shop smart, shop S-mart"

Liberty's Edge

One of my characters actually had the occasion to use the "primative screw-heads" speech, with appropriate modifications for a matchlock pistol and a band of kuo-toa. Good times :)

Bruce Campbell (the actor) wrote the forward to the original Deadlands RPG. While he is a 'gamer', I don't think he's gamed recently. My impression is that he and his wife are very busy trying to preserve a lot of land iirc.

He does have a webpage....http://www.bruce-campbell.com/ but nothing about what he's up to lately.

Thanks for the clarification. I think considering his _ss-kicking of the undead either the chainsaw or Ash can inflict critical hits on undead.

Well I was flipping channels and saw that he's on a new USA network series called 'Burn Notice.' Not sure if it was just one episode or if he's a recurring support character.

Edit:I just clicked on the link to his website which has info about his character on the show.

;)

I just love the Old Spice commercials. The one where he's in front of that ship painting that just goes on and on seemingly forever. And then the other one, singing "Hungry like the Wolf".
