Converting Older Adventure Paths to the World of Varisia?

Lost Omens Campaign Setting General Discussion

Hey everyone, I'm new here but after hearing about Paizo's upcoming and promising products I knew I just had to join the community. ;b

My question is: can we look forward to official conversion notes for converting older adventure paths (Like The Shackled City) to the world of Varisia? I know it would be a lot of extra work considering the size and scope of both the Pathfinder project and the older adventure paths, but the world you're designing is just so cool!

I'm really afraid that liscensing would get in the way of a project like this, but what if you guys provided simple bullet notes and blurbs that would help? I mean, Kyuss isn't a part of this OGL world so would someone be able to provide us with a suitable replacement?

If not, I'm sure that some brainstorming on the forums would more then suffice.

Thanks for your time.

I support this notion.

not 100% sure but I'm guessing that as you said licensing is an issue as the APs in Dungeon are WOTC owned. while we Might not be able to have 'official conversion notes' the community can make unofficial ones.. but that might be hard since we don't know what the world is layed out like

Once our license ends, we can no longer officially use content owned by Wizards of the Coast; this includes Greyhawk, Forgotten Realms, and other campaign worlds. So we won't be providing conversions for Pathfinder adventures to these settings, nor will we be providing conversions for Dungeon's Adventure Paths to our setting. That said... it should be pretty easy to run any of the Dungeon Adventure Paths in the Paizo world, since they'll be very similar in theme.

But that wouldn't stop a bunch of posters on your boards from sharing their conversion notes would it?

Nope! :)

Ah, well, I knew about conversion notes for converting Pathfinder TO official WOTC worlds would be a no go... but thanks for weighing in on the other way around.

Would it be possible for you developers to "weigh in" on conversion ideas? While you may not be able to publish anything official on the subject, are you legally able to say, "Well, in my home game I'd have Adrimarchus be Bildobop the Demonlord of Misgivings and Fermented Fruits"?

I'm looking forward to trying to convert SCAP to the pathfinder world - hopefully I'll be able to finish running the thing! -_-,

Would the Paizo team be willing to declare a section of Varisia-world to be a jungle-filled peninsula that will never be described in much detail ever?

With one of those, it'd be easy-peasy to place the SCAP and STAP Paths there in our home campaigns.

The Age of Worms has a bit too much travel to want to adapt without a better idea of the world geography, but APs 1 and 3 are pretty localized.

Oh, oh, and as a random idea, add a volcano-riddled mountain range just to the west!

Idea seconded!
