I finally watched an episode of stargate last night. What happened to O'neal (aka MacGyver)? Did he die? Or, did he get fired?

I'm not quite caught up to speed, working on the 9th season, but I believe that he was promoted to Homeworld Security under Hammond. He has appeared a couple of times since the promotion, including Atlantis.

The reason being that Richard Dean Anderson wanted to spend more time with family.

Yep. I've seen every episode, and I couldn't have said it better.

They're ending Stargate. Those f&~!ers.

Alas, this is one case where I have to say

'let it go'. It's been on for ten years. It's had a good run. Let it die in peace.

Now, on the other hand, Firefly...

Besides, you have Amanda Tapping going to Atlantis ::insert cat meow here::

Meh. On the other hand, Claudia Black = rawr.

I disagree. Amanda Tapping is smiking, plus her character is a scientist, so at least I get to see a hot chick be smart once a week. This rarely happens in my everyday life.

This thread has offically been jacked. It's turning into a bizarre variant of the 'Kirk vs. Picard' argument: the 'Carter vs. Vala' argument.

I don't know about Vala, but Aeryn Sun...

Does this mean he got fired?

Who owns this show, and when are they going to make another StarGate The Movie?

Jack O'Neill got promoted. Richard Dean Anderson is now a 'recurring guest star' e.g. he quit.

Spoiler:

MGM Studios/Double Secret Productions/Gekko Film Corp. are supposed to be releasing a Stargate SG-1 feature film sometime in the next year or two.

I keep forgetting to buy all the seasons out on this. I can't remember where I left off. I used to watch Stargate Monday before I joined the Army, but that was three years ago. I can't even remember what was going on when I left.

I used to like this but due to silly and chaotic UK air-times I missed lots then lost where I was up to. Anyone care to spoil it all for me? :)

Anderson is the Executive Producer and directs now and again.

I just meant as far as acting goes.

They beat the Goauld. And the replicators. Now they're fighting these ascended beings called the Auri. And you know what; I think they're going to beat them too.

;P

Took them 8 seasons to kill off the main heads of the the Goauld (Ra, Apophis, and Anubis), Bhaal seems to be an unsteady alliance versus the Ori (again, I need to watch the 9th season). The Replicators were pretty much taken out by Season 9 except for Fifth, not sure where this lies.

I'm sure this will do a pretty good job summing up:

Fifth got taken down by Replicator Carter. Replicator Carter got taken down by Daniel Jackson Ascened Verson 3.0, and was finished off by the Ancient weapon on Dakara.

By the way, have you noticed that if you can get a job on Stargate SG-1, you have employment for life? Seriously, every TV show/movie connects to stargate somehow.

- The man who plays Elektra's father in Daredevil plays the Abydoan chieftain.

- The man who plays Lt. Gaeta on Battlestar Galactica has had several roles, notably the Encaran prince.

- Paul McGillion (Stargate Atlantis) also played 1st-season's Ernest Littlefield on SG-1.

More to come...

Claudia Black
Ben Browder (sp?)
The guy that was an alien and ended up writing "Wormhole XTreme"

Of course, these where previous roles that came to SG...

Liberty's Edge

- The guy who played the artificially created Encaran is now a regular on CSI Vegas.

- Jewel Staite (Firefly) played a female Wraith on Stargate Atlantis

- Adam Baldwin (Firefly) plays the leader of SG-12 (I think).

- Don S. Davis (General Hammond) was Dana Elcar's stunt double on MacGyver, featuring Richard D. Anderson (General O'Neill). Don S. Davis also had several guest roles on MacGyver and The X-Files.

- Michael Shanks (Dr. Daniel Jackson) played the lead in the movie Swarmed.

- Morena Baccarin (Firefly) is now a semi-regular character on SG-1 as the Orisi Adria.

- Corin Nemec (Dr. Jonas Quinn) was the lead in the movie Mansquito.

- The guy who played Martin Lloyd on SG-1 also played Cupid on Special Unit 2.

More later...

Speaking of Jewel Staite (off-topic, I know), she also played the part of a goth record store clerk in the HBO (or was it Showtime?) TV series "Dead Like Me." SO HAWT.

Okay, I'm done.

I definitely need to see that one...
