I picked this off another thread.

I'm in total agreement, but I also enjoy and use the maps, etc that we get from the PDF of each issue.
Vic Wertz mentioned that you can either purchase the paper copy for $19,99 or the PDF for 13.99. If you purchase the paper copy you will get the PDF for free.
Problem is I want help my local gaming store and have never minded spending the extra few bucks at the store for Dungeon & Dragon. If I want to continue with this practice but still receive the PDF I have to spend 19.99 at the local gaming store and 13.99 for the PDF online. Not something I'm willing to do.
Like when your company tells you the health ins. co. they use is changing but you are not losing any benifits, it seems the employee/gamer always loses something in the end. Don't get me wrong I am excited about both pathfinder and the modules but there has to be a way I can support my local gaming store and still receive the PDF without spending $33.98 a month.
If I am misinformed on this issue or if there is a bright side I have not considered please enlighten me.

Side Issue: Are you making enough copy that Issue 1 of Pathfinder will make it to the Local gaming stores.

Thanks
Archer

As I understand it from another post, they are looking into how to make the PDF available to those who purchase the issues at their local gaming store.

Not quite. If you're a subscriber, you get the PDF for free.

This doesn't mean it'll happen soon, if at all, though.

Would there be a way for someone who buys the PDF to "upgrade" to the paper format, for less than the full paper cover price? (I forget the PDF price, but it's, what, $13.99 or something? If so, and if the paper cover price is $19.99, this "upgrade" I'm thinking of would be $6.00 + shipping, or a little more to cover the hassle.)

People who buy just the print edition don't get the PDF cheap; people who buy just the PDF don't get the print edition cheap. The two-in-one deal is meant to encourage people to subscribe. If you subscribe, you get the benefit of both; if you don't, getting both will cost you more.

Thanks for the response!

Two days ago I decided I was not going to be buying the Pathfinder-series. Now I'm seriously considering subscribing. It's just that last time I tried to subscribe (I live in Norway), the thing went awry and my money disappeared. But that was just before TSR went down, and before the age of Internet and money transfer over VISA... and definetely before the age of Paizo. I really think D&D players should introduce a new timeline. Before and after Paizo. You really are THAT good.

I don't suppose there is a subscription rate for those who only want to purchase the PDFs is there? Just curious

We have no current plans to offer PDF-only subscriptions. But note that PDFs will be $13.99, which is the same price as subscribers are paying for print copies, so if you want to, you can think of subscribing as buying the PDF every month and getting the printed book for the cost of shipping....

You know, I think you should be a salesman instead of a technical director! For some reason your logic seems... well... logical.

I for one am very excited about the new Pathfinder subscription with both print and PDF content. I am even more excited about it than I was one the first Dungeon Magazine came out.

The online supplements have really spoiled me. And the few PDF Dungoen Magazines I have been able to get. I enjoy printing out maps separately and printing just the adventure I want to use. I understand the licensing issues but I would love all of the old Dungeon magazines in PDF (I also know that pre-paizo that will be difficult if not impossible).

Paizo has taken both Dungeon and Dragon to new heights and I am a loyal fan. I also will buy the new WotC content. You can never have enough quality content. I enjoy the different flavors from different companies to include Sword and Sorcery and Goodman Games.

Here is to our game becoming even better in the years to come.

HERE, HERE!

Thank you very much for your kind words! And for a discussion of the future of our PDF's, check out the threads here and here.

Thanks,
