Liberty's Edge

He's saying now that he's gonna make 7, 8, and 9 after all!

Yee haw!

Stare Wars?

Edit:
Why this film put the word everything in bold and had it fail a swear filter is beyond me:

Further edit:
WOW... it made it worse. It added the word like and I never wrote that. This is cryptic, man

Further further edit:
Everytime I resubmit it makes more of my reply disappear... it looks like I'm on some kind of insane rant and I do swear that I never swore.

UBER FURTHER EDIT:
I resubmitted yet once again and now it's adding even more
words I never had in there... many of them. This swear filter is unloading all of its dirty laundry into my post! lol

Final edit assessment: This is bent. Since it will probably call bent a swear... b e n t. 1moreedit.(That what is this all about anyway line... never wrote it)

Original post:

I figured he had to. I guess I'm happy but then I really did not enjoy the last three films... mostly everything Anakin. But having that last film, which everyone seemed to love so much and I suffered through, be the capper on what started as such a positive and society shaping adventure brought me down. This last movie ended like an act 2... it ended with the same dark and unresolved feel as Empire Strikes Back. So I figured there had to be more to come unless he thought ending all that franchise goodness with the loss of goodness was a good idea. Did I say good enough?

last of the last edits: "It's not fair!" What am I 12? Never said it.

"Come on you know I'm right?" And all those exclamation points? Not me, man. I think the robots have taken over.

Okay... what is up. "Obviously you are an idiot?" lol Man, someone really hates me.

Hey Paizo, is this just me being hacked locally or is this on your side?

PS: Never wrote that line about not giving flyings things.

We have a crack team of warforged hard at work. They type very quickly and don't require much maintenance. Oh, and Heathy, you had me going there for a second.

Oh wait, so Lucas ISN'T making any more Star Wars film. Ack.

Heath got me too. I'm just the dumbest ass on the planet this morning. Did I mention I was very sick? That's my only excuse.

So now Heathansson, rather than being a prankster, has become a prophet! 'Cept now it's Disney making the new films, rather than Lucas himself. Who would even have jested about that in 2007?

Thankfully, Lucas will only oversee the projects...

I wish someone would have come up with "Disney is acquiring the Star Wars franchise!" for April's Fool a few years back...

I sure did check my calendar when that happened.

Disney owns Lucasfilm, not just Star Wars. That means they also own Indiana Jones, Willow and the most important film they can build a francise out of:

Howard the Duck.

Who would'nt pay to see a Howard the Duck meets Donald Duck movie? ;)

Even so, it caught me for a few moments. :)

The brother told me something disturbing....Lucus own a rather large share(though not controling) of Disney. He pretty much sold it to aviod taxes. And um him overseeing the project is probably going to be...alot more invasive than I think people are thinking.

Anybody can confirm it or deny it?

The Exchange

I can both confirm and deny it.

I think if he isn't directing it and isn't directly responsible for the screenplay (they'd doubtless ask him for input) it'll probably be OK.

Kinda. Eh, what do I know?

Sovereign Court

As long as the movie is not a 2 and a half hour of him masturbating to visuals, i am pretty fine with what comes out. Can't do much worse than the prequels (even though i liked combat scenes in those movies...they leave A LOT to be desired)...

The Exchange

You must have seen the director's cut.

The weaknesses of the prequels were (1) scripts and (2) acting. The actual story arcs themselves could have been a lot better if they had sorted that. And Jar Jar, of course. One would hope that if it's done by someone else then possibly they can apply quality control that they probably couldn't to Lucas himself.

Sovereign Court

The prequels should have been Obi-wan's story, not a story of the whiny brat who turns evil for little reason.
Although, if you look at the prequels as the Palpatine's story, it is amazing, and shows how one man can destroy an enormous state with only his brains and planning.

Or it should have been Anakin/Vader's story, but he shouldn't have been a whiny brat who turns evil for little reason.

Though there is precedent for that in the original trilogy. Both Vader and the Emperor seemed to expect to be able to turn Luke to the Dark Side and there wasn't much real reason for him to do so. I think the in-world reason is that Sith can do that to poorly/partly trained Jedi. But that doesn't come across well on screen.

Amidala's story: Meet whiny kid while in some hoohah about Naboo while secretly setting up for the villainous local politico to become head honcho, then enabling him to grab power by giving him the most ludicrously incompetent and stupid being she could find as a senator. Fall in love with the whiny kid despite his dedication to the very opposite of what she claims to stand for (democracy and freedom), and marry him in secret so that his superiors in the jedi order don't find out. Finally, dump being pregnant on him when he is already seriously unstable, and finally, when villainous Naboo politico starts killing off every opponent to her power, go meet whiny kid, except he is now Terminally angry and tries to kill her. Dies after giving birth to twins... Ummm... Okay... I never realized how skillfully she worked to bring down democracy...

I'm a huge Star Wars fan, and looking back The Phantom Menace, it's a very horrid movie. Watching it for the second time, not even Darth Maul can redeem it. There's just so much wrong with it, I just want to punch Lucas in the face. :)

#3 Revenge of the Sith was good however (except for the "Nooooooooooooo!!!!" at the end, lol). As long as they have that same quality, I'll be loving every second of it.

I tried re-watching TPM a year or so ago and eventually just gave up and fast-forwarded to the light saber fights.

Someone once asked a question:

If you could play any game with a famous person, what game and who?

Rochambeau, George Lucas

Lucas is making 7, 8 and 9? Yay! I wonder who they will get as Squall?

"Give up! I have the higher ground!" "Wait. What?"

I think aside from Lucas not being able to write dialogue to save his life, his main problem is probably that he occasionally get some really bad ideas, and he no longer have anyone to slap him around when he does.

Lucas is pretty solid as a "big idea" guy. Let him be a "consultant" or some variation of producer on the series and he can probably make a positive impact. Just don't let him anywhere near the screenplay or any of the actors.

Sovereign Court

Really, because they want to ressurect Vader. Yeah>
For god's sake!

Rrrrrrrrright, you guys hear that crumpling sound? That was my interest in seeing those movies.

Truly, I am not yet ready with the new lows of human nature.

So far, it's just a rumor. I wouldn't have a problem with bringing the character back to fill in some setting details in flashback. Nor would I have a problem if they started off with the remnants of the Empire creating a new Darth Vader in an attempt to hide the first one's death/redemption. But actually resurrecting the original? No.

Anakin appears as a Force ghost at the end of JEDI, so yeah, 'Vader' can certainly reappear in 7, 8 or 9. That's not a problem. Him physically coming back in the black suit and everything (maybe as a clone?) would be horrendous, but certainly they've built in the idea he can show up as a Force ghost. Hopefully that's all the rumour is referring to.

I hope he only reappears as a ghost or a flashback. What kind of writer would think bringing him back in physical form would be a good idea???

Dark Archive

Suppose it could work if it is someone pretending to be Vader (After all most people dont know Anakin was vader)

Hama wrote:

Oh, please no. Putting another guy behind the mask, maybe, but if they do that, it had better be good.

Where's the petition to put the Thrawn novels onto the big screen for 7, 8, and 9?
