Prince--"Erotic City"
Blind Willie McTell--"Southern Can Is Mine"
Bessie Smith--"St. Louis Blues"

I don't much hold to modern pop/dance music, but I was surprised at how much I enjoyed this particular track (especially given the fact that I can't stand the artist & song that it was written by/about*):

Mike Posner - "I Took A Pill In Ibiza (SeeB remix)"

Prince--Controversy

Adventure Path Charter Subscriber

On the suggestion of some people here,
The Trials of Vanoccupanther by Midlake

Stringtronix - Mind Bender

Don't know about mind-bending, but the string arrangements are rather lovely.

Ayreon - Universal Migrator, Part 1: The Dream Sequencer

I've tried to get into Don Van Vliet and his minions. I really have. My partner has tried to get me into Trout Mask Replica and Safe as Milk, but... I just can't. It's inimical.

I like Captain Beefheart; I think it helps if you have a soft spot for free jazz and Howling Wolf (mixed together)

The drummer has decided to appear on live television wearing a pair of ladies' paisley underpants on his head. Good work.

Both fab bands :) I kind of prefer Banco, myself. Le Orme are also well worth checking out if you like either of those two.

Lesley Woods from The Au Pairs ended up a barristed; Terry "Tory Crimes" Chimes from The Clash, a chiropractor; Steve Ignorant from Crass, a lifeboatman.

I really can't explain why I like this, I guess it just hits all the good spots.
I like it because it's better at being mid '70s Fleetwood Mac than mid '70s Fleetwood Mac were.
Now you have me listening to Rumours.

Now I'm taping Rumours for in-car listening.
