I got to be a part of a weird music thing yesterday: L.R.S. Records has been doing a series of "one-hour sound labs," where they get three or four musicians from different bands and have them write and record a song in one hour. This particular one included myself on bass and backing vocals, James Manton (bass/backing vocals for Shore Acres Drive; also performs solo acoustic as Participation Trophy) on guitar and lead vocals, and Ben "Ralph" Abate (drummer for Mattydale Music Collective) on drums.

Here's the final product.

Finntroll playlist off Youtube...thanks to one of the first responders to this thread.

Fixed link and appending the song youtube claims got them their Minnesota prominence after a dj mistook it for a new Cream single:

"Of Paupers and Poets"

I did some overnights back before Bell called it quits. His show used to be so freaky at 1-4am!

Is George Nohre still at it?

Yeah, Noory is still doing it. He's good, but he's no Art Bell. I first learned of Art while working data entry over nights at the Postal Service. They encouraged us to listen to the radio or music because the work was so dull. I tell ya, some nights were never dull with Art!

1) Whoops...

2) Huzzah!

3) And here's a whole album of theirs, which is (unfortunately) a bit less hairy than 'William'

Woke up this morning and a friend messaged me that one of my old Boston roommates succumbed to "the sickness" as some of my friends are referring to opiate addiction these days.

Seemed appropriate to get super baked and crank Neil Young.

Sorry to hear that, DA.

Thank you.

Walter Becker, Steely Dan Co-Founder, Dead at 67

Lots of Steely Dan. Guitarist Walter Becker passed away at the age of 67.

I heard Chevy Chase played keys for a very early Steely Dan and left the band before they became professional.

Get a load of those threads! Oh and Cosby....
