The Sword--Age of Winter

LOVE the new Metallica, Thomas! It reminds me a lot of "Master.."

I was going to put the Alice's Restaurant on here today, but I'm feeling more Book of Love-ish and Blue Room-ish. The end of Planes, Trains and Automobiles

Doodle,

Thanks for the Sword at least.

I like Winwood when he's with Clapton. Steely Dan is brilliant...well, was. Do they have any new material or is it all from '70s?

Did I ever tell ya that this here jacket represents a symbol of my individuality, and my belief in personal freedom?

Stab it and steer

Apparently, the leather jacket belonged to the deceased drummer.

Speaking of deceased, I haven't done much internet this month, so I just saw, three days late, that Dave Brubeck died.

More sad news, I'm afraid.

RIP Mose Allison (earlier this year)

RIP Greg Lake (a couple of days ago)

Not ELP, btw, but a pre-King Crimson band (Shy Limbs), with a (good) tune that is... slightly reminscent... of 'A Whiter Shade Of Pale', like a lot of tunes in the late '60s.

Daily Musical Interludes: Car Radio Version

The tape player in my beloved '97 Lincoln Towncar s+&! the bed a couple of weeks ago and I have been too busy to go get a boombox, so my Daily Musical Interludes are going to start relying a lot on what I hear on the radio, which, since I am no longer young and hip and don't know any of the bands on the left of the dial, means a lot of classic rock (not too much in this one, though, unless the eighties are now classic rock, which is what I think sometimes, listening to the radio) and throwback hip-hop.

OutKast--"So Fresh, So Clean"
Jackson Browne--"Somebody's Baby" (which I always thought was Marshall Crenshaw)
Dexys Midnight Runners--"Come On Eileen"
Dr. Dre and Snoop Doggy Dogg--"Still D.R.E."
The Jam--"Town Called Malice"
Michael Jackson--"P.Y.T. (Pretty Young Thing)"
