The guys at Harmony Gold have finally produced a feature length movie as a continuation of the TV show and it's pretty dang awesome. I just picked up a copy and finished watching it just now. Basically the story picks up right during the final events of the third series and deal with the search for Admiral Rick Hunter and the emmergence of a new enemy called the Children of Shadow. The fun thing is for those of us nerdy enough to have followed the metaplot of the shows through the failed Sentinels show, then you're in on a special secret--that the Children of Shadow are someone you already know...
It's good stuff. I'd say the characterization is a little cardboardy--on par with Star Wars III, and the CG parts are a little TOO CG but how do you really complain about an awesome looking completely new movie's worth of golden Robotech story!
You just can't.
Oh, I thoughly enjoyed the new movie. I was so glad that I put down the $20 for it. Plus the lost sleep from staying up to watch it. I just hope that they make a new series out of it.
