Age of Worms Adventure Path

Im after a bit of help as my time is limited at the moment to flesh this out so thought i would get help from you lot.

I have a pc who im fleshing out, he has some heratige related to air/wind and as im setting it in FR going with the djinn idea, still a work in progress.

Im quiet generous a dm with my handouts and gifts to the players as they are only 3 and i like to bolster them with powers and stuff.

One of my players abiltys is due to a torc which has become fused to his skin on his throat, which has now appered on it one of the symbols of the wind dukes (zosiel).

go with me on this

A minor power that has come from this is that he has is tight forming sheath of rigid air around his whole body which acts as kinda like a natural armour bonus +1 at the moment as he is only level 2.

What i want to do is over time let him find pieces of CERAMIC ARMOUR like that worn by the wind warriors at the end of whispering cairn. Im thinking of the first bit being a breast plate that he finds in the true tonb, with the rest of the armour coming later as he finds, upgrading the suit and become better IE more ac and abiltys. I want the armour to remain light armour even though this goes against the rules but then there for bending as his character background is very mucg based on flexabilty/movement/gracefullness and he fights with 2 scimitars and hails from calimshan

The armour it self basically sits on his air field so it floats just abit over his skin, theres no straps or means of it being secured down (my way of making sure it goes to him and not wornn by another) once he figures he can place it on his air field.

What i want is some help from u guys as how to develop it- aditional abiltys as he levels all in keeping with air and wind etc. Like i said im farly genoureos :):)

Make it as cool or mundane as you like, let your imagination go wild.

Hope you guys can give me some ideas to work on, Thanks

I'm not sure what to say about building it from the group up, but a good item to use as a basis for the finished product is the Celestial Armor from the Dungeon Master's Guide. It's extremely light silver or gold chainmail that's so light it can be worn under clothing- it acts as +1 chainmail (+3 chainmail? I can't remember) with a +8 max dex bonus, no armor check penalty, and counts as light armor. Furthermore, it allows the wearer to Fly once per day as the spell. You could use this as a base (just describe it, of course, as ceramic plates, not gold chainmail), and then build down from there (taking away most of the AC bonus, the fly ability, so on) to make lesser pieces of it.

I was actually planning on giving this armor to one of my PCs (a Two-Weapon Fighting Paladin/Tempest who based his character around wanting to get the Sword of Aaqa and Lightning Sword), before he decided to take levels in Monk. Oh well.

Are you intending it to grow with levels, like an item of legacy? I can't help with that one, not having the book. Don't know mucha bout those sorts of items at all.

If you were meaning more as a set of items that he finds over time, each item increasing the overall power of the suit, then I might have an idea or two.

One option is simply customized appearance on existing items. A magic breastplate, gloves of dexterity, boots of striding and springing(Or Winged boots).. I'm sure there are others that would fit as well. Probably the easiest way to do it.

Another option, which seems to be the one you're leaning towards would be to create a custom designed suit of armor (Similar to my previous example, but with more customized items).

Example off the top of my head...

Breastplate: +1 breastplate, increase BPs max dex by one.
Bracers: Bracers that grant +1 (Or more) to initiative, also increase the magical bonus of breastplate by one.
Helmet: Allows wearer to breathe an effect equivalent to a Gust of Wind spell (?? CL) 1/day, Increases breastplate bonus by one.
Gloves: Gauntlets that grant a +? bonus to dexterity, +2 to reflex saves. Increase magical bonus by one.
Boots: Increase movement speed by 10', +2 AC VS Attacks of opportunity (Similar to mobility feat, stacks with feat).

The pieces of armor are molded from ceramics and elaborately decorated in a theme in keeping with the wind dukes. When more than one piece are worn, tiny arcs of electricity crawl across teh plates. The more pieces worn, the more noticeable the effect is.

2 Pieces of set: Reistance to electricity 10.
3 Pieces of set: Haste 1/day as a free action, CL=Character level of wearer.
4 Pieces of set: Resistance to electricity +20 (Total), 1/Week Chain lightning at CL=Wearer's Char Level-3.
5 Pieces of set: Wind Walk 1/day. Allows wearer to make up to one additional attack of opportunity (Beyond dexterity limitations, if char has opportunist or similar feat) per combat round, characters initiative is increased by +2.
* Note, I used this method for simplicity. I personally would have individual relationships between each of the pieces bringing different abilities out.

Just something tossed together off the top of my head, probably a horribly mangled mess of sleep deprived rambling. So I'm going to go to bed now, hopefuly it's got at least one useful idea hidden in it somewhere.

What about an old-school haste effect of getting an extra partial action? The ability isn't that out of line when compared to the current version of the spell (at least for non-casters, which I assume the person wearing the armor would be). This would allow the character an extra action to do something other than make an attack (drink a potion, heal an ally, etc). It's definitely powerful, and I would probably limit it to a once per day type of effect that only lasts a round or two, but it could be very useful considering how few players you have.

The Exchange

I thought about this for a while and here goes:
sets of clay tablets, 3 per set, that come with different runes (windduke runes)inscribed on them that identify what they do. When a complete set is brought within 5' of the force/air field they bond to the field circling the person's body in a random manner (sort of like ioun stones). tablets could be rather small. Each rune would denote a different effect (armor, energy protection, fortification, slick, etc.) and a field can sustain up to a certain # of sets. Enhancements which have +2 or higher bonus equivilent would be sized appropriately.
+1 bonus equivilent tablets = 3- 3"X3" plates
+2 bonus equivilent tablets = 3- 3"x6" plates
+3 bonus equivilent tablets = 3- 6"X6" plates
+4 bonus equivilent tablets = 3- 6"x9" plates
etc.
Eventually the person would be fairly covered with randomly orbitting clay tablets with runes on them. It would be a pretty cool effect.
They could be removed if needed by the user spending a minute or so gathering the tablets and bagging them up. Opening the bag would result in the tablets all flying out and positioning themselves in orbit around the user's body and take maybe a full round.

The dude getting hit by a creature could be described as "the foul beast's claws managed to avoid the swirling protection of your runic tablets and drive into your ---insert body part here--- " , and misses as " the creatures blows are deflected repeatedly as the orbiting clay tablets seem to move to intercept the slashes".

How's that for flavor?
