James, something funny is going on w/ posts. Your post is timed 2 hours prior to mine, but yet I never saw it. If I had, mine might not have come the way it did.

Thanks for the info, though.

I've long been a fan of all things Kyuss (what little was in WotC's Monster Manuals, anyways) and was thrilled when I was pointed to AoW a couple of weeks ago. I've since discovered the amazingly positive feedback for the adventure, and the incredible support for a compilation of the adventure and its Wormfood suppliments. I'd just like to add my voice to the clamor for it to be issued as a complete adventure. After perusing some installments of the adventure in back issues of Dungeon at my local gaming store I am even more in love with it than I thought I could be. I would love a collected adventure, and would buy it the day irt came out, even if it cost a hundred bucks or more (I bought my fried Ptolus as a birthday present, so money won't stop me from having something really good). If it comes down to it, I will buy all the magazines seperately, but my dream would be to have a single hardcover volume with all the information nessecary to run the campaign, well organized, good art, all the Wormfood info, for around $60-80, with an additional optional softcover suppliment containing pullout maps, character handouts, NPC stat sheets, etc. for another $20-30. One way or another, though, I hope WotC hears all of our voices and allows Paizo to make this product, whatever the format.

Yes ... I get the impression this is part of the reason why many Canadian book chains dropped the TSR products in the 90's. Now, the major book chains like Chapters and Indigo usually have better selections of the D&D hardcovers than most dedicated gaming stores ... which is another topic altogether.

Sovereign Court

I think any AoWs project would be awesome. Mags are cool, nice and compact, but I'd love to have everything (like the wormfood articals) in one source.

I hope we get this & a Savage Tide one by 2009. :)

WotC does not want you buying a 700 page book that will ensure that you never buy a single one of their adventures in the next year or two.

Somebody else mentioned something similar earlier, as well. In my case, at least, this is a false assumption, and I know it's false for other gamers in my group as well. When a product comes out that interests me, I buy it (assuming I can afford it!) It doesn't matter if I'm in the middle of a module or campaign that will take me months to complete, and it doesn't matter if I have a dozen other adventures ready and waiting on the shelf for their turn. I don't think I've ever said "oooh, that looks like a cool product, but I already have enough to keep me busy for years", or anything to that effect. I'll buy the WotC products that interest me regardless of whether or not Paizo publishes AoW, and I'll buy the AoW if and when it comes out regardless of what's on WotC's publishing schedule (or anyone else's, for that matter, since I buy other companies' products as well). I don't view any of this material as "competing" at all.

I do the same and have material for the next millenium, I only hope I will be able to play everything I presently have before I am doodling in a wheelchair.

Scarab Sages

Dangit! I saw this pop up in the recent posts section and got all excited.

I vote "yes, Age of Worms hardcover, please" :)

So does the announcement of 4e kill any chance of this ever happening? I hope not, but I'm afraid it does.

Maybe they can run a "classic editions" series to collect stuff like this in hardcover. I'd love to see both Age of Worms and Savage Tide get the same treatment Shackled City did.

Liberty's Edge

I guess if the 4e mechanics are totally new, it would require a rewrite, but really no different than the Return to Tsojcanth scheduled for October. OK, a 500 page rewrite, but...

Perhaps when the "adventure" portion of the publishing schedule dies down some we will see the AoW hardcover approved.
Sadly, going off the precedence of 2E, when this happens 4E will be on the shelves.

So, now that we know 4E is scheduled for next May, are we allowed to expect the AoW hardcover out in May 2008 as well?

Just kidding, but that would be nice nevertheless ;->

I'd say that the 4E announcement increases the chances of WotC approving a AoW Hardcover while, at the same, decreasing the chances that Paizo will actually want to go ahead with doing it now as the sales are likely to be a lot lower than if 4E wasn't coming out for another couple of years.

Of course, WotC could give Paizo the green light to make a 4E version of it. It would probably sell quite well in that case but it would take a LOT more work to actually put together.

I think i would be cool if there was a converted 4th edition AoW, coming out with the new 4th edition.
It would make a whole package. A new set of rules, and a long adventure to go with it. It could be a way to learn the new rules while playing a great adventure. But I dont know if Paizo have acces to new edition before launch? Else it would cause a long waiting time to convert it.

I vote for 4th edition AoW hardcover in sale july 2008. Or rather, thats what I dream of.

I don't think it's likely that WotC will be allowing a 4E AoW hardcover--not if they plan to produce a lot of adventure material for 4E themselves, as we can guess they plan to do with the recall of the licenses. They will want to establish themselves as the primary source of published adventures before they open things up to other companies, especially proven competition like Paizo.

I would *love* to see an AoW hardcover - but I now fear more than ever that it will never happen. Why? Because of the recent Expedition to Castle Greyhawk book. It's a great product, and I'm glad they made it -but having done so, there's too much material that would overlap an AoW hardcover. Even some of the NPCs (Tira, Kellek, Celeste) are in there. When I saw that, I felt thought, "gee, that was material they probably had prepared for AoW, and now it's in here so as to not go left unused."

Having said that, if you're running AoW, by all means get Castle Greyhawk and use the material in the campaign. It's awesome!

I know I'm beating a dead horse, but just wondering if there has been any news on a possible hardcover? See we just wrapped up my AOW campaign and I was thinking to myself you know self an AOW hardcover would look nice right next to the Shackled City one.

Is there any point in asking if there will be a Savage Tide hardcover?

Now that 4th edition is on the horizon, an AoW hardcover would certainly have to be a 4th edition product. Which means that it'd have to be completely rebuilt. I'd say chances of an Age of Worms hardcover happening in the next five years are close to 0% as a result. Of course, that's just my guess; it's possible that WotC might decide to go ahead with an AoW hardcover on their own. If they did, I suspect they'd want to do it in the Delve format. Which would bloat the book to the size of a phone book and the price to several hundreds of dollars, I'm afraid.

It'll probably never happen, is what I'm saying. If it DOES... I'll be as pleasantly surprised and pleased as the rest of you.
