Star Wars: Clone Wars (animated)...

Movies

I know these aren't officialy movies, but nevertheless...

These little jewels (Volume 1 and Volume 2) are really worth their weight in gold.

At first, the stylized drawings seem a little odd but you quickly get used to them after the few first minutes. Then you're in for a treat... The entire trip from Episode 2: Attack of the Clones all the way to the opening sceen in Episode 3: Revenge of the Sith.

Good battles, good story, no Jar-Jar, more Grievous, what can I say except that I give each of them a 5 out of 5. Go get your DVD copies today!!!

I liked them too. Though I have only seen them on the cartoon network. I thought they did a great job keeping everything in character while still giving the series its own feel.

Really really hated the first volume. The seismic tank was gosh-awful (hillariously so...I openly mocked it in front of my friend, the uber-paladin of Star Wars and he got mad at me :()

Dirge the amoeba man and his brigade of IG-88's with lances swoshing by taking out tanks. Infinite numbers of soldiers scrabbling around blatting each other.

Mace Windu versus the B2s was sorta' cool in a "what the heck??" sorta way. General Grievous was almost okay. The best thing about the whole thing was Asaj Ventris--that voice and the creepy mummy wrappings. Not too shabby.

On the vast whole though I thought the whole thing was just goofy and camp in ways Star Wars was never supposed to be. I was left shaking my head at the overwhelming positive reaction everyone seems to have had of them. Makes me wonder sometimes. Then again, I'm also the only guy on earth who thought Episode III stank...so yeah.

If you ever get a chance to read the Dark Horse series of graphic novels--those are for me what the cartoon was supposed to be.
