I was wondering if anyone could tell me how many gnoll figures you need in the largest gnoll (and flind) encounter. i have my postage set up to monthly, so haven't received the PDF yet. However, I have found a local shop which has the old Chainmail figures extremely cheap (6 for $10), and wish to stock up on the Gnolls (and maybe some others) before they disappear.

The most in HotCK is 5. You will need 4 and one to represent their leader Narg, who is a flind.
I would imagine you will need more for the next few adventures, but for the first book that is the most you will need.
Also there may be a need to pick up 3 bugbears if you dont have any already;)

That's a toughish one, because it'll depend on how many your players take out before the make the big move into the Battle Arena. But if you had to have ALL the gnolls for some reason, there would be the group Grish mentioned, one bartender gnoll, and I think it said 22 gnolls working for the BBEG. One possible encounter I know has 6 ...

I am not sure I have the dedication to paint 22 gnoll figures, along with all my other unpainted minis.

Mmmm...these are the same players that keep coming to the table with character figures that aren't even under-coated.
I now have nine gnolls, and a bugbear....we will see how I go
