New Pathfinder Adventure Card Game Now Available!

Everyone loves a good combination, like peanut butter and chocolate, cookies and milk, and now you can have your beloved Knights vs. Demons Epic Adventure Path content in your favorite Adventure Card Game format. So get ready for the next installment of the Pathfinder Adventure Card Game: Wrath of the Righteous!

When the city of Kenabres is destroyed by a horde of demons, only you can save the world! In Wrath of the Righteous, the epic new Adventure Path for the Pathfinder Adventure Card Game, you will travel to the Abyss to battle the malevolent minions of the demon lord Deskari. Along the way, you'll become mythic heroes that rival the greatest legends the world of Golarion has ever known. The saga begins in the Pathfinder Adventure Card Game: Wrath of the Righteous Base Set.

This cooperative strategy card game lets 1 to 4 players enter the hellish Worldwound. Choose from 7 characters, each with a different style of play. Build a deck of powerful items and powers which will grow according to your desires as you advance in power by conquering challenges. Eventually, you'll gain a mythic card, which will allow you to warp the rules of the game and use the first-ever 20-sided die to appear in a Pathfinder Adventure Card Game release.

The Pathfinder Adventure Card Game: Wrath of the Righteous Base Set contains more than 500 cards featuring a new set of boons for your characters to collect (including never before seen monsters and barriers of a decidedly abyssal nature), 7 character classes (including the all-new arcanist, cavalier, inquisitor, and summoner), the Worldwound Incursion Adventure Deck (a 110-card deck that begins the Wrath of the Righteous Adventure Path), and a complete set of 6 polyhedral dice, including the first d20 in the Pathfinder Adventure Card Game.

Don't forget to pick up the Wrath of the Righteous: Character Add-On Deck to bring your game up to the 5-6 player level and add in some new classes. The more the merrier!

Had a severe case of the Baader-Meinhof Phenomenon (see something once, see it everywhere) on viewing this blog post. I'd never heard of Paladin before, but, making the mistake of wearing a Maintankadin shirt when visiting my parents, I had to explain what a Paladin was. Thankfully, my awkwardness at an impromptu breakdown of World of Warcraft and MMO tanking roles was subsumed by the general awkwardness of my 80+ year-old father singing this theme song. :D

Got mine in the mail this morning, good present on coming back from a bagels and coffee run. Hardest choice in characters by far this time around, especially compared to S&S where I was like "why would anyone not pick Damiel?" I narrowed it to "Well if my wife picks the Hunter, the Inquisitor's a pretty good consolation prize..." Only to realize those roles are basically redundant. D: I'm hoping her overwhelming love of tiny folk will lead her towards Enora or Balazar and make my party construction & min/max concerns moot.

Heh, my fiancee grabbed Damiel in S&S, so I picked up Jirelle to support her. In WotR, I'm leaning towards Balazar and hoping she'll be interested in one of the Divine characters; there seem to be many to choose from. But my set won't show up until Wednesday...

We had the reverse. She picked Jirelle, I went Damiel. They made a great pair! Just from my initial scan of the cards Enora/Balazar and Adowyn/Imrijka seem like they'd make a fine team. Adowyn's got a sweet wolf, and I was down with that before I knew said wolf was also a renewable scouting resource, so I know which way my heart is leaning.

Just about everything in this set seems like it's a step above S&S, which itself was an improvement over Runelords. The game just keeps getting better and better with each release.
