New Pathfinder Adventure Path volume available!

Ancient Osirion rises again with the latest Pathfinder Adventure Path volume!

The time between now and when Osirion's reach spanned across northern Garund measures in the thousands of years, and those ancient magics that made them conquerers once again come to light in Pathfinder Adventure Path #83: The Slave Trenches of Hakotep! Crafted by Michael Kortes who penned the first Osirion adventure in "Entombed With the Pharaohs", this adventure takes you back to the Half-Dead City of Wati, under siege by a floating pyramid, ripped from its resting place. The demands are simple: the PCs must turn themselves over, or Wati will face the unbridled arcane might of ancient Osirion! The stakes are even higher as PCs seek to unravel the means to bringing down the Pyramid and prevent destruction raining down from the heavens, and the secret lies within the eponymous ruins.

In addition to the adventure for 13th-level characters, Pathfinder Adventure Path #83 also contains an article that reveals some of the mysteries of the Shory, ancient rival to Osirion, whose flying cities are the subject of many legends and the goal of many lore seekers. Ancient relics of Osirion such as the Blackstone Mace, Lotus Stone of Namrut, and Sistrum of Bastet give a deeper look at some of the events that shaped Osirion, while the Pathfinder Journal takes us to Ipeq and reveals a few of its secrets. Finally, the bestiary entry covers the beetle-headed hanshepsu, living sandstorms, ossumentals, and the mighty elder sphinx!

The final showdown of the Mummy's Mask Adventure Path is at hand with "Pyramid of the Sky Pharaoh", but something new is heading your way with the Iron Gods Adventure Path next month!

The Ten Commandments! I love that movie! I watch it every year at Easter/Passover. Yes it's cheesy, but it's good cheese! And great for Ancient Egyptian flavour (a la Hollywood, of course). :)

Jeez, Wati can't get any slack, can it? Besides the ages old supernatural plague, they've had to deal with undead uprising and now a ancient pharaoh?

Wondering what a hanshepsu is?

Yul Brynner.

The title of this blog post made me think of one of the two songs I'd play for Mummy's Mask if I were making a soundtrack: Creeping Death by Metallica (the other one is Iron Maiden's Powerslave, off the album of the same title).

Very close, but Metallica's line is "So let it be written, so let it be done".

The line is the same in the movie, i dont know if met took that and used itfor their song or not though.

Edit: Yul Brynner is awesome.

Strangely, the first thing that got into my mind when I saw today's quote was Javert's song "Stars" from Les Miserables.

Is it typical for the last TWO books in an adventure path to be printed and released in the same month? This has been bothering me for a while, and I can't quite wrap my head around whether it's a publishing decision (originally I thought it was a mistake on the website) or I've just been not paying attention to how the other adventure paths are printed. Help?

Generally they fall behind one month during the year, and the AP that ends in July gets the last two books at the same time in July.

It's quite possible. I mean, the song is about the first Passover, which is a major event in the Ten Commandments.

And yes, Yul Brynner was awesome. RIP, man. RIP.

This has happened before? I didn't notice. Thanks for letting me know, I felt like I was seriously missing something.

"So let it be written, so let it be done" appears many times in the movie, but I think only once in the form above:

Ramses: The city that he builds shall bear my name. The woman that he loves shall bear my child. So it shall be written. So it shall be done.

Ossumentals. Oh my.

That movie was the Lord of the Rings of it's time.
