Idichi relays this information and starts his performing his extraordinary ability Naturalist givinAC g his allies +1 to AC, attack rolls, and saves.

Idichi repeats, Mining beetles, Bad bites, and Strong minds. loud enough for everyone to hear as if he is trying to calm himself.

"Ah, well, these big ones I can cut up, no need for the alchemical fire," says Jabari.

Drop the alchemist fire (carefully) to the ground, draw sword, move & attack when my initiative comes up!

Khopesh attack: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (12) + 5 = 17
Khopesh damage: 1d8 + 3 ⇒ (2) + 3 = 5

"Sorry to block the tunnel, but this way they can't get to you!" Jabari shouts over his shoulder after making a powerful cut.

"That is a good move, Jabari. You can move them up the stairs if you want to let the rest of the Relic Seekers use their blades. I will block the side passage so we don't have to fight them all at the same time."

Omor moves into the tunnel behind the concealed door to block the entrance to the room. Lady of Graves, protect me now. he thinks.

Map updated. Move action: into the tunnel. Readied action, Attack beetle with dagger when it comes into range. Dice rolls if needed:
Attack with dagger, sacred weapon: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (4) + 4 = 8
Damage: dagger, sacred weapon: 1d6 + 3 ⇒ (1) + 3 = 4

Jabari deals the first beetle a mighty blow, it is still there though.

Omor your attack misses.

Aya and Idichi you can have surprise round actions.

Female Kitsune Sorcerer 2 | HP: 13/13 | AC: 15 / T: 14 / FF: 11 | Fort: +2, Ref: +4, Will: +3| Init: +4, Perception: +4

not wasting the magic on this

attack: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (3) + 4 = 7
damage: 1d8 ⇒ 1

Aya you miss I'm afraid

Idichi, do you want to take an action

Male Mwangi/Human Bard(Archivist)2| -13/14 HP|AC 15 T 13 FF 12 | Fort +1 Ref +5 Will +3 | Initiative +2 | Perception +4

Taking aim with his crossbow he lets a bolt loose.

Crossbow Attack roll: 1d20 + 2 + 1 ⇒ (19) + 2 + 1 = 22

Damage: 1d8 ⇒ 7

Idichi's crossbow bolt flies true, striking one of the beetles coming from the passage and killing it

Idichi initiative: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (4) + 2 = 6
Aya initiative: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (4) + 4 = 8
Omor initiative: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (10) + 1 = 11
Jabari initiative: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (4) + 1 = 5
Mining beetle's initiative: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (6) + 2 = 8

So initiative order is

Block 1: You guys

Block 2: The beetles

So Block 1 over to you.

Omor continues to defend the hallway from the beetles that might be down there, waving his dagger in front of himself carefully. Standard Action: Total defense, +4 AC

"I've got this tunnel covered, " reinforces Omor. "Help Jabari make quick work of the other beetles!"

Map is current for Omor.

Male Mwangi/Human Bard(Archivist)2| -13/14 HP|AC 15 T 13 FF 12 | Fort +1 Ref +5 Will +3 | Initiative +2 | Perception +4

Idichi once again takes aim with his crossbow and sends a shot at the still living beetle.

Crossbow Attack roll: 1d20 + 2 + 1 ⇒ (9) + 2 + 1 = 12

Damage: 1d8 ⇒ 8

The crossbow bolt flies past the beetle, missing it.

Aya takes aim at the nearest beetle

I thought I already acted and started off the whole battle.

Khopesh attack: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (17) + 5 = 22
Khopesh damage: 1d8 + 3 ⇒ (2) + 3 = 5

Jabari smashes the beetle before him, then backs up the stairs so that the beetles will have to follow him.

Hoping to get up the choke point enough that someone else can slip in beside me so we can double-team the beetles as they come up.

[i]Aya misses, Jabari strikes the beetle with his khopesh, chopping it in half.

The remaining beetles attack, one on Jabari, one on Omor.

Bite on Omor: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (4) + 3 = 71d4 + 2 ⇒ (1) + 2 = 3

Bite on Jabari: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (14) + 3 = 171d4 + 2 ⇒ (1) + 2 = 3

Back to Block 1 again

INACTIVE - GAME DIED

Why did my token get moved back down the stairs? I specifically moved back up the stairs after killing the beetle that I was fighting, so as to force the beetles to come up to us.

Jabari swings again as the next beetle advances.

Khopesh attack: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (19) + 5 = 24
Khopesh confirm crit: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (6) + 5 = 11

Khopesh damage: 1d8 + 3 ⇒ (6) + 3 = 9

Jabari makes another mighty chop as he draws the beetles back to the group to be finished off en masse.

Apologies that was me

Jabari slices another beetle in half.

Male Human Warpriest 2 HP 16/18; AC 15, T 11, FF 14; CMD 14; F +5, R +1 W +6 Init +1, Per +9

Seeing Jabari defeat the other beetle, Omor updates the Relic Seekers on the battle plan. "Jabari, I'll back up so you can take over," he says.

Omor lashes out with his dagger, then gets ready to back out of his part of the battle.

Standard action: attack
Attack with dagger, sacred weapon: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (5) + 4 = 9
Damage: dagger, sacred weapon: 1d6 + 3 ⇒ (4) + 3 = 7

Move action, map updated. It will probably provoke an AOO from the beetle but I'm going to hope we get lucky.

bite attack of opportunity: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (14) + 3 = 171d4 + 2 ⇒ (4) + 2 = 6

Idichi fires another crossbolt.

Attack roll and damage: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (7) + 3 = 101d8 ⇒ 7

The crossbow bolt goes flying past the beetle.

For some reason the map seems to have messed up. I have moved everyone back to room 12 as I can't recall where everyone was. To be fair to you the beetle will only move this round.

Back to you guys

Jabari moves to guard the party as the next beetle advances.

I'm not sure if the positions on the map are relatively correct; I'll move to a spot between the beetle and the rest of the party and Ready to swing on it when it closes.

As far as I remember, the relative position of everybody is correct but moving forward as it wouldn't affect what Omor does anyway.

Omor grunts and lets out a small scream as the beetle sinks its mandibles into him.

Once he gets himself out of combat with the creature, Omor invokes a prayer to his goddess. "Lady of Graves, heal your servant if it is not my time to meet you, " he intones. His hand is covered with a faint glow as he touches the area where the beetle bit him and the wounds close.

Idichi puts away his crossbow and switches to his short spear.

I think it would be considered insanity to try again. I believe in you Jabari and Omor. I hope I don't have to use this spear.

Idichi waits in the back hoping the beetle doesn't break the front line.

Aya over to you.

Aya's bolt misses.

The beetle moves up and Jabari takes his readied action, dealing it a final blow. It falls dead

Where next?

INACTIVE - GAME DIED

Jabari whips his khopesh to rid it of vermin goo, then wipes it down with a rag. He carefully secures the weapon again and says, "What next? Is there anything beyond this secret door?"

Male Human Warpriest 2 HP 16/18; AC 15, T 11, FF 14; CMD 14; F +5, R +1 W +6 Init +1, Per +9

After Jabari brings down the last of the beetles, Omor relaxes slightly. "Is everybody OK?" he asks.

Responding to Jabari, Omor notes"I've not seen anything there yet but we were a bit busy. Do you want to lead the way? I can ask the Lady of Graves to put a light on the front of you if you want to go in ready for battle."

While they debate the next action, Omor looks down the stairs. Perception: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (19) + 8 = 27

"As you will, but I am not skilled in the craft of traps," says Jabari. "And these tombs are infamous for such. Especially in places where one does not want strangers poking around, like hidden rooms."

Male Mwangi/Human Bard(Archivist)2| -13/14 HP|AC 15 T 13 FF 12 | Fort +1 Ref +5 Will +3 | Initiative +2 | Perception +4

Idichi speaks up, "Ah! Well I can be of assistance there. I have read every book, scroll, and text, on tombs and the traps found inside, that I could get my hands on as I journeyed here from the Expanse. I will stand with you at the front and disable any traps we may come across. I am very intrigued to see how faithfully they were represented in the books I've read. Especially the pit of snakes. Which now that I think about it is probably just a pit of dead snakes now. No, matter let us descend further into the mystery of this tomb.

The stairs lead down to essentially the back wall of the tomb. Beyond the wall are a series of smaller tunnels (presumably made by the beetles that lead out into the desert. Down the secret passage the way tists and turns until it ends at another secret door that Omor is able to detect.

INACTIVE - GAME DIED

"Very well! Tell me when to move on and when to stop," says Jabari, keeping his blade handy once more. "I will advance only when you say it is safe."

He keeps a keen eye out while the group advances through the secret tunnel to the next door.

Male Mwangi/Human Bard(Archivist)2| -13/14 HP|AC 15 T 13 FF 12 | Fort +1 Ref +5 Will +3 | Initiative +2 | Perception +4

Idichi inspects the secret door found by Omor. Keen eyes, Omor! I'm going to check for traps on the door, please let me know if you see any also.

Perception: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (12) + 4 = 16

Male Human Warpriest 2 HP 16/18; AC 15, T 11, FF 14; CMD 14; F +5, R +1 W +6 Init +1, Per +9

"Thank you, Idichi. I do notice lots of things that look unusual or out of place. Look right here, " says Omor as he points to the start of an unusual crack. "I'm quite poor at the internals of traps and mechanical objects, though. That is not a skill that the Lady of Graves puts much value on. I do think you'll be superior to me in the finding of traps."

After pointing to where he sees the door, Omor stands back a little bit to give Idichi room to work.

Male Mwangi/Human Bard(Archivist)2| -13/14 HP|AC 15 T 13 FF 12 | Fort +1 Ref +5 Will +3 | Initiative +2 | Perception +4

Taking out his tool kit Idichi goes to work on the door.

Disable Device: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (11) + 9 = 20

I've only ever really visualized unlocking doors. However, this should get us though this door. Theoretically anyway.

Idichi manages to open the other door. You do not find any traps.

The door opens into a passage with double doors to the north and also to the east.

Male Mwangi/Human Bard(Archivist)2| -13/14 HP|AC 15 T 13 FF 12 | Fort +1 Ref +5 Will +3 | Initiative +2 | Perception +4

Walking carefully in Idichi takes a look around for anything out of the ordinary.

Perception: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (19) + 4 = 23

Shall we continue north? From what I surmise east would take us back to somewhere we've already discovered.

Idichi, you do not find anything out of the ordinary

Am going to assume you open the doors to the north

This room holds several neatly arrayed chests, boxes and urns. The dust of centuries covers every surface. The only exit is a set of stone double doors to the south (way you came)

INACTIVE - GAME DIED

"Interesting," murmurs Jabari, looking about the room, khopesh still at the ready. "These must be grave goods. Left behind for those buried here. All this dust... nobody has touched these since they were interred."

Male Mwangi/Human Bard(Archivist)2| -13/14 HP|AC 15 T 13 FF 12 | Fort +1 Ref +5 Will +3 | Initiative +2 | Perception +4

Fascinating! I'm very curious as to what standard supplies the Osirians of old considered necessary for burial.

Idichi casts detect magic on the room hoping to find magical items and looks for anything useful.

Idichi, there is something magical on the wall to the west

Male Mwangi/Human Bard(Archivist)2| -13/14 HP|AC 15 T 13 FF 12 | Fort +1 Ref +5 Will +3 | Initiative +2 | Perception +4

Idichi walks directly to the magical aura.

[b] Ahhh! The Osirians do not disappoint. There seems to be something magical stored here.

As he gets to the area, Idichi peers closely at the place where the magical aura originates

Sorry, it looks like I missed a posting cycle.

"Yes, Idichi, we've seen many an unusual item or protection left behind for those in the tomb. Do be careful, though, some of the magic is quite dangerous."

Omor helps Idichi investigate the magical aura that he found.

Perception: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (20) + 8 = 28
Knowledge(Religion): 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (13) + 5 = 18

"Once we get close to the chests and artifacts, be respectful. If we must disturb the interred dead, I will try to make it right with the Lady of Graves."

Idichi, you think that the aura is a conjuration aura.

Omor you find a secret door in the wall, however it appears to be guarded by a trap.

Male Mwangi/Human Bard(Archivist)2| -13/14 HP|AC 15 T 13 FF 12 | Fort +1 Ref +5 Will +3 | Initiative +2 | Perception +4

Idichi turns to Omor. Yes, let us inspect examine everything with the utmost respect. I would not want to dishonor the ways of my Osirion hosts. Omor, please let me know if I'm being disrespectful in my examinations, because only a fool would willingly disrespect the Lady of Graves.

Identifying of the aura as conjuration, Idichi, becomes visibly excited and more determined to find the source of the magic and add it to their list of treasure. He meticulously and carefully looks through the chests and boxes in search for the aura.
