When diplomacy between nations fails and neither side backs down, war is the inevitable result. From border skirmishes to large-scale invasions, conflict comes in many forms—the perfect chance for heroes to win glory! And war has come to the world Golarion, embroiling the nations of the Inner Sea in a conflict that will forever change the Pathfinder setting!
This new rulebook for the Pathfinder Roleplaying Game covers all aspects of war, including two bold new character classes! Help steer the flow of battle as a cunning commander, or protect your allies from harm as an indomitable guardian. You'll also find archetypes that allow you to raise a small battalion of undead soldiers or wield a personal siege weapon, the new larger-than-life jotunborn ancestry, an armory of magic weapons, and rules for running combat alongside troops that you command to fill out your army's ranks. Golarion’s generals need you, so heed the Battlecry!

I couldn't not think about Fire emblem when i read the book.
Less rules intensive than War of the immortals. It makes a better product because it doesn't drag on.
The GM Core already has basic rules for vehicles, including how they work during combat. If they were streamlining the existing system, I imagine that would be in the advertising.
I watched video by some fellows who got an early copy. They mentioned a lot more vehicle things. There's some archetypes geared toward vehicles, there are quite a few new vehicles. I think they said there are some expanded rules for it. They didn't go into detail, but they said that what is in the book certainly supports more vehicle focused play.

Here's hoping the Guardian MC archetype allows for light armor/unarmored builds.
There are quite a few guardian feats of 10th level or less for use without regards to armor, and only one of the MC feats is specific with medium and heavy armors. So if you want to use defending and taunt alone, you can do it. :)
My 2001 in PFS2 is troll Slayer. I try to add a little Warhammer to every character. I still don't have a rat-catcher character, though.

I know you’re joking but adding a Warhammer dimension to Golarion is precisely what I would like Paizo to add above all. My own world is a 4X strategy version of Golarion where each of my 15 players, in addition to their roleplaying character, owns several “heroes” who operate like the heroes in the strategy videogames Master of Magic and Heroes of Might and Magic, being free to roam Golarion and city-build etc. as described in “Ultimate Campaign” (and Legendary’s “Ultimate Kingdoms”), plus they can zoom in and play PFS Scenarios as if they’re playing SRPG stages. All the while 4 APs are also running at any given time and everything interacting with and affecting everything else!
Why am I saying this in this thread? Because the only thing I am missing is the stats for all the armies of Golarion. I have to make them myself, and I don’t know enough about the world plus lack the experience to do it as well as Paizo would do it.
But aside from my personal desires, don’t you think that adding a Warhammer dimension to Golarion (and a 40k dimension to the Pact Worlds) would be a hit for Paizo? It would enrich the world figuratively, and Paizo literally.
I’ll grant that if war can be initiated by players at any time, it can mess with the complex
narratives. It sure isn’t easy to GM something like this, and it’s even harder to plan and publish as a company at Paizo’s scale. But... there are ways to constrain it and make it manageable. And how glorious if it succeeded!
Anyway that’s my idea and my thinking. And while I am dreaming, I look forward to whatever useful bits and pieces that Battlecry will contain for my 4X Golarion
world.
P.S. Experienced 3PP devs should write Armies of Golarion for Pathfinder Infinite. I’d buy it in a heartbeat and shill it on my site.
In the moment I can't buy the PDF. "PDF Unavailable" The Other PDFs that are released today can be bought (like the starfinder 2e oder mythspeaker ap part). Also the (regular) Battlecry is not shown on the frontpage in the NEW RELEASES column.
Any word on why this is unavailable? It's also missing from the new releases section at the frontpage, though the special edition and sketch cover are there.

Great book, one of the best so far. Just a small nitpick: Could we please get a small rework of the kineticist impulses someday?
They don't count as spells or strikes. It makes them feel really left out. Your Commander friend can only affect you with move based tactics as your abilities won't work with any of the other ones.
Maybe let them use one action Elemental Blast with things that let you make a Strike?
Just my two cents.
Awesome. So much closer to old school gaming with these additions.
I know everyone is here for the classes and superheros. But I very much enjoy a level 0 campaign with dozens of adventurers, where death is common. Now having thought out rules and stat blocks to adapt from for this is very much appreciated.
Unfortunately the Empire Management of Kingmaker was not so great (seams cutting on play tests was not such a great idea), so waiting still for something from Paizo here : )
I am also eager to see tactical spaceship combat coming up. I assume these will be compatible with naval / underwater scenarios. The vehicle rules are still a bit ... so so.
We're really happy to see you all enjoying Battlecry!! Keep shouting out some of your favorite things about the book, and even things you'd like to see worked on!

War Mage with elf ancestry, going back to Old School gaming! I"m also looking forward to playing a Crossbow Infiltrator.
I really enjoy the idea of putting the Captain archetype on an Awakened Animal, just for a reverse-familiar thing.
"Ah, a ruthless pirate and their pet parrot, a classic… what's that? The parrot is the one calling the shots? The parrot is in fact a master battle tactician? That adult woman with a falchion is in fact the parrot's sidekick? Totally lost without the parrot's guidance? Huh."
Minor typo on pg 22, in the Commander's Banner section, first paragraph. Either there's a missing word after the and, or the and itself needs removing:

The "Sky Chariot, Armored" (pg 110) doesn't have a rarity listed, aka it's Common, but all the lesser versions of the Sky Chariot from GM Core (pg 214) are listed as Uncommon. Accidental or intentional difference?
