A Thuvia gazetteer makes this even tastier than it already sounded - very glad to see this nation get more stories than just the Sun Orchid Elixir. Exciting!

I knew it was going to be Lamasara! Here’s hoping we get a write up of the Serene Spiral and maybe some Fey hijinks!

Somehow I missed this announcement in September.

Wait so this starts at level 4? I am guessing it spans 3 levels as usual then?

Looks cool and at level 4 this might be a good one for newer folks after BB that are wanting to stretch their legs a bit. I hope we get a Foundry version right away.

I mean, at level 4 it'd lead straight out of Troubles in Otari, assuming you aren't then hitting up the AVaults. Getting to Thuvia might be a little adventure in itself, too.

Finish up in your 'tutorial town' of Otari, then take a boat south? It's not the wildest thing to imagine, though I'm curious how your PCs would end up hired for this job.

...maybe make one of the missing performers a relative, assuming they share an ethnicity/ancestry with any of the characters?

I don't think it's too much of a spoiler but just in case...

Spoiler:
The primary "quest giver" in this adventure is a merchant who is also a generous patron of the arts. So, one of the PCs could be a friend of him or related in some way. He could even be a patron of one of the PCs and thinks they might be able to help him with a dilemma. The adventure gives a few of these potential links that work whether the PCs are Lamsaran citizens or folks from afar.

And, Thuvia has some links to Absalom, so maybe after jetting off to Absalom to spend your Otari spoils, you come across a Thuvian in the big city who needs help or knows someone who needs some help.

Neat. I have a soft spot for Lamasara since I was running a game that started as Mummy's Mask but after book one the party took a caravan to Lamasara to sell their goods. There wasn't much published about it so I'd made up a map and some NPCs and adventures for them to go through there.

Wow, this snuck up on me! I’m really keen to see that Thuvia gazetteer.

I wonder if we’ll see yet more friendly Maftets here; they’ve been popping up all over recent materials.

Oh, right! Okay, so here's the playlist of stuff I was listening to while developing this adventure. Most of this is purely instrumental pieces, because lyrics can distract me when developing. Some of these might fit for background music while running the adventure.

Bug report: The city of Aspenthar appears to not have the correct settlement level. I assume missing the second digit.

Expected: As a metropolis, seems like it should have a pretty decent settlement level. Maybe 10 or higher.

Actual: The settlement level is 1.

Correct!

Aspenthar should be level 10.

That zero escaped the line! Get it!

What is the level at the end of the adventure?
6 for final chapter, 7 at epilogue I presume?

It just says level 6 before facing the big bad.

I was hoping that divs would be involved in this adventure, as they're my favorite or second favorite kind of fiend, and the plot seemed to fit their modus operandi. Additionally, the LOAG mentioned div insurrections in Thuvia.

Spoiler:
I'm happy to see that that desire was fulfilled! According to page 54, divs are especially plentiful in Thuvia, frequently entering through the House of Oblivion.
Quote:
People often encounter these fiends in disguise, making travelers wary of random roadside encounters or strange‑acting animals.

Keep a cold iron scimitar handy! Or don't, scimitars kinda suck.

So has anyone paged through this yet and if so how is it looking? Almost ready to buy it on Roll20 then get the free PDF here, but I'm usually not a "desert type" GM, but it is more of an urban desert city adventure right?

Thanks

Urban, pretty much all maps involve buildings

COOL thanks are the maps pretty good and the storyline more of a mystery type investigation as it blurbs at the top I am hoping, or more mixed play? (as sometime the blurbs can be a bit misleading at times I have found out over the years here)

Thanks bud

There's some investigation involved, plenty of meaningful leads for investigators to pursue. The PCs don't immediately find out who the missing artists and the perpetrator of their disappearance are, but they're given several clues.

Spoiler:
There's also a supposedly Sarenite temple that is actually home to an Usji cult, which an investigative party could likely figure out and use to defuse a potential conflict.

If you're coming from, say, Gatewalkers, and looking for something more investigation-focused, you'll be very happy with the Enmity Cycle, speaking as someone who is currently running Gatewalkers and considering running the latter. There's still fights and dungeons, but the mystery is relevant until the very end.

Not as a premium module, but there are modules out there that pull maps and journals from the PDFs if you've purchased them, they tend to keep up with adventures, and hopefully will add this one soon.

Thanks 3826

What I have read so far looks pretty good, not sure when I'll run this and for what group yet, but I'm sure I'll figure something out.

Can't have enough different options and flavors of adventures for all my groups ya know :)

Deidril has said hes working on this next for his Helyx-Import PDF module, although i am already well into hand crafting it in Foundry and it wasnt so bad, all the Actors are already in the system, so its just the maps and the trimmings (also my first time running on Foundry, so a big learning curve for me)

Scarab Sages

I'm on the finale of this adventure. My only criticism (apart from the one monster that has mechanics that my players hate) is that due to the construction of the maps and closeness of other monsters it fairly easy in three of the maps to be chain pulling multiple moderate encounters due to proximity.

I am playing on Chris's table. Rather disappointed that my Bards Art Lore has literally never come up and that I would have been far better off as an Inventor!

There is an opportunity to use Art Lore in one part of the adventure, and the adventure calls out a DC for the check. Maybe you just missed this part?

Maybe, but it was dwarfed by the number of times Engineering Lore came up which I really was not expecting given the blurb.

I was starting to read this adventure after reading James L. Sutter's "Death's Heretic". The novel has a map of Lamasara, but it quite obviously does not correspond to the Lamasara described in this adventure which I thought to be quite funny.

This adventure has a "Serene Spiral" as Pharasma's Temple built from alabaster, and the book as a thematically a bit more on-point cathedral that "rises black into the sky". Also, it has entertainment and theater at the river, while in the novel, the theatre district is nowhere near the water.

So, in my head, I have to make some adjustments, and it is honestly the first time that I find two official Pathfinder products which are incompatible to this degree - and granted, it's not even that much, just geography. Thematically, the the two Lamasara's work together quite well. And, after reading, I *REALLY* want to GM this one. This sounds like a lot of fun.
