Inexpensive GM Aide

There's a lot of duplicates and no sturdy box in this release. This saves on shipping. It'd be great if a box existed with channels for each size. I ordered a artist box and wooden reinforcement swim lanes for the pawns. Overall, the numbers match the battle cards so these work hand in hand.

No box

2/5

Organizing pawns is a giant pain, especially when they come in US letter format which is unobtainium in Europe. Shipping no box makes this even worse. Apart from that continues with the ridiculous low amount of often used pawns, making them unusable at the table. Jesus Christ Paizo, what your doing.

This is such a crazy good list of monsters-- Terracotta soldiers, imperial dragons, kirin, kappa, new hags, new giants, everywhere I look there's great stuff coming.

"Siktempora, triumph, hatred, love, misery"

YES. YES. YES. NEW SIKTEMPORA WOO(plus misery which was first and cool one!)

Also couatls, sahkils, divs, asuras... Even owb prophet (so again nice nice Forsaken lore) :3 Mortics too! Agathions and kami... I could be wrong, but I think this means we have almost all category monsters back now :'3 Brings tear to my eye

I think only ones we are still missing from 1e might be Manasaputra, Nightshades and Demodands? And of course Gigas, I really hope those come back since they were cool. Any other ones I'm forgetting about?

Edit: HOLY CRAP WE ARE GETTING SKULL SWARM BACK. YEEEEEEEESSSSSSSS

Edit edit: Paizo did super good job with this selection :'3 I'm noticing bunch of my others favs like galvo and rhu-chalik in the list

Curious though, green man used to be CR 26, did they get nerfed to level 25 or lower?

A huge possum? Oh my.

Oh hell yeah, Imperial dragons and Agathions return? Two of my favorite monster types in one book.

Edit: Wait, no Avorals or Leonals? Uuuuuh.

SIKTEMPORA LET'S GOOOO

Shame. I was hoping to see Garuda and Peri expanded on as far as being a group of Celestials rather than a single type. Was really hoping 2e would give Celestials as much love as Fiends get. Still happy to have them back though.

I'm happy to see that a lot of the playable races are going to be covered in bestiary 3. I'm also happy to see long favorites like clockworkks, imperial dragons, kami and the agathions. Even the Green Man is here.

A good surprise for me was the Siktempora, with a good number of emotions. I'm eager to see their artwork.

Yaaaay my house spirit friends!

Also mortics were a cool concept, glad to see they're back!

I would love to see a pawn collection dedicated to troops only.

I have received this almost-fantastic product and I love the artwork.

Why "almost-fantastic"? Two reasons;

- the artists are not recognised on the back of the product's cover (unlike the recent Starfinder Alien Archive 4). I do understand that there is little space to do so, but I would hope that the artists are recognised on an internal panel and if so, this should have been mentioned on the back. The cover artist does get mentioned.

- the second reason is the fact that Paizo is cutting "corners" by not providing such a large product without an inbuilt storage solution - that is, there is no box holding the contents, but a flimsy cardstock wrap. Compare that to the fantastic, solidly-boxed, 1st edition bestiary products that I can stack on top of each other.

This is a dark time for Paizo, when product quality is dropping even though roleplaying games have taken a leap forward in the pandemic times. I feel sad.

I look forward to improved product quality.

I'm with Griffonbait, I really like having the boxes. It's a shame they're getting cut. I guess I'll have to put some extra time in at the metal shop I work at and make my own boxes. Forget cardboard, I'm going aluminum.
