Excellent first set

5/5

I thought the mix of minis provided was excellent - there were a handful of starships (no duplicates) several playable races and a decent, broad spread of enemies. The monsters selected are often featured in the early APs, which is useful.

The sculpts were all good quality with no breakages in my set. Some of the paint jobs were a little garish for my tastes, but I think they were well done and just not my cup of tea, rather than being poor quality. They certainly fitted the Starfinder aesthetic.

The only negative I could see was the number of minis or the cost, depending on how you look at it. Given we’re used to getting four minis per booster in other Wizkids lines, each box felt a little disappointing. I would have personally preferred to have got four and accepted that the price would be higher (especially since this is the first set and there aren’t as many starfinder-substitute minis out there yet).

Overall though, I rate this five stars. There’s not much I would have changed. Looking forward to future sets!

EDIT: actually, I think there is another change I’d definitely make. These have a clear base which I don’t care about personally BUT it means you can’t read the labels. This is a terrible decision in my view but is across all WizKids miniature lines, so it doesn’t seem right to penalise this set based on an overarching policy. Needless to say - I really hope this experiment in clear bases will be very short lived.

Considering putting in a order for these with my FLGS.

Do we know if the set will be similar to the Pathfinder battles? Eg: 3 minis per booster, 8 boosters per brick, 4 bricks per case giving a total of 96 minis per case, with a very high probability of getting at least one of each of the 32 different figure?

Has there been any news on a subscription for these?

Hi folks, we do not have a subscription for Starfinder Battles at this time. We will be revisiting this and seeing if a subscription makes sense when we have some data on how this set does.

Everyone, check your receipts. It does not appear that the 30% discount was applied to my order: Order #35689452

Hey Flyteach, I looked at your order and you are correct that you weren't given the full 30% discount, but instead you received your Paizo Advantage discount of 15%. We will get this corrected and refund you the money. Thanks for pointing this out to us!

Thanks Jeff, it looks like it was corrected very quickly.

Do people who are Miniatures subscribers receive the 30% off of the price?

Will there be singles listed like Pathfinder?

Will we get the 30% off of singles if we are a Battles Subscriber?

Thanks!

Hey Yoshua, here's the answers to your questions...

Everyone gets the 30% pre-order price on Cases, bricks, boosters, and premium, and everyone will get the 20% off regular price once the set has released. Because this is SF Battles, there is no additional benefit for being a PF Battles subscriber.

Since the singles do not release until the set releases, the best discount we will be offering on them is the 20% discount and everyone gets that price (ie no additional benefit for being a PF Battles subscriber).

Thanks for the quick response Jeff, I know a lot of people are looking forward to the Singles popping up too :D

Just got a Brick delivered (Mad props to Customer Service getting it out so fast).

The most important thing I've noticed so far is that the Sarcesian's wings are FAHREEKIN' HUGE! so be very careful with that mini.

Also, don't know if it's a psychological effect of the clear base or an actual effort but the Large minis actually feel almost Huge (except for the abovementioned Sarcesian, which seems EVEN BIGGER with that wing action going on).

Bought one, got a bear :O

Nice

I was disappointed by the lack of spaceships. I purchased a case and got one of each ship. It would have been nice for there to have been at least one Common or Uncommon ship mixed in.

It also would have been nice to have a space goblin. I know you can get on in the Galactic Villians set. But you only get one. I definitely need more than one goblin. Maybe a future set will get one.

Otherwise, it was a good first Starfinder set. I look forward to what comes next.

Is there going to be restock of singles for this? The Pegasus & Drake are sold out.
