I'm going to be running my first PFS scenario tomorrow and I had a couple of questions.
In the Intro Part III it says if the players add 1gp to the shrine award 98gp. Is that reward on top of the 500gp listed on the chronicle sheet? So at the end of the adventure if Ranger guy, flipped a GP into the offering plate, Ranger guy would get 598gp's at the end of the scenario? Or would ranger guy get 500gp and everyone else would get 402gp?

They never ever ever ever ever ever ever ever ever ever ever ever ever ever ever ever ever ever ever ever ever ever ever ever ever ever ever ever ever ever ever ever ever ever ever ever ever ever get more gold than the max listed on the chronicle sheet.
;)
Never ever ever ever ever say never ever ever ever ever ;)
Special Reward Note: If the PCs fight and defeat Natalya,
reward them an additional 357 gp for each Tier. Killing
Natalya, however, can seriously impact the end of this
scenario. It is up to you to decide how it resolves. This
additional 357 gp is not reflected in the “max gold” boxes
on the chronicle sheet at the end of this scenario.

Everyone gets the same? That doesn't seem fair. But okay.
New question:
SPOILERS for QUEST for PERFECTION below:
I'm actually planning on running quest for Perfection Part I. I'm playing with 1st level characters, and I seriously doubt they'll be anywhere close to optimized. I was looking at the final battle, and that seems really brutal. I'm not sure they'll make it through. Is it really as bad as it looks? Is there something mitigating it that I'm not seeing?

Jodokai: Save the Quest for Perfection series for tier 4-5. It's brutal then too, but you'll have shaken out the kinks a bit. It's brutal all around, and worst when you don't have resources.
If they're first level, run them through Graduation: The Morning After (First Steps 1-3). It's a better intro to the Society, and they're close enough to home to get help if they need to retreat.
Seriously, seriously, as a killer hardcase GM.... don't waste Quest 1 and Quest 3 on lowbies. They're really good scenarios and deserve players whose characters are prepared for their challenges.

What Jiggy is trying to say (even though he is a couple of "evers" short) is that the 98 gold is part of the final 500 GP at the end. If they fail to flip in a GP then they only get 402 (assuming they did everything else). Everyone in the party gets the same amount also.
Nice to know that I have been doing this right. It seemed a bit confusing after the party split up to "divide and conquer' the module.

Day Job gold is in addition to the sub-tier gold cap.
Also, just because one PC does something to earn more gold does not mean the others have to get less. You need to review the gold earned for each encounter and add it up for each PC. If they earn more than the max gold then you award them the max gold. If they earn less, then that is the amount they get.
