I'm confused. But at least I had an excuse to get my mythweavers sheet together. It has more accurate information anyway. Finally doing the math on it, I'm not gonna hit a g$~*~~n thing with Empty Quiver Style unless the melee attacks are touch too. Which would make even less sense than the bullets doing that.
In general the goal was to get something secondary and entertaining to do with my feats aside from "bullets til it dies." Improved Initiative and Improved Critical are both still "better" but, eh.
I forgot about Overwatch style. They look potentially really useful (they also line up perfectly with Gremory's feat progression). And it's fun killing a guy on his turn. Don't know yet. I'll keep these for now since I don't want to risk having to retrain feats again.
Also to Idiotcube: The way I'm reading escape route it seems to say that I'd be providing the escape for someone else. That way I can take the hits. With 12 con.
Imma post when I get back from work. Unless GM wants to bot to speed things up, which I'm fine with. She's gonna full-attack the most important looking guy she can.
Not much, really. You got some rum from a pirate smuggler and came back to the island, where a bunch of people you don't know had arrived on your island, but were kidnapped by the remaining gargoyles from Sumitha.
Haven't met her, but it would stand to reason all the PC's could feasibly have been around long enough to know about it. From what I remember the pitch for introducing Daliya and Gremory was "People got ate. Yall were on the ship and you pop into the ground team."
However, I choose to believe Gremory was not there.
Nobody killed the Phase Spider. It's still alive, and may still be a factor in this combat.
It just got hurt, and Ixrul's spell Staggered it even though it passed the save, so it took a round off, and may have fled entirely. You guys took it down to about half HP.
Now, all that said, I AM in the middle of upgrading Arron and Sandra to the proper levels as well so they can aid in this fight, so move ahead assuming you have six party members and not 4.
That was a good move with the Acid Pit, by the way Ixrul. Had the hags saved, Gremory would morre likely than not be dead now, and who knows where the fight would have swung at that point.
One day I will get to cast Explode Head on somebody. One day...*sigh*

As the great Krillin once said: "Wait, why me specifically?"
Because you were the only one that touched her this entire fight...one bite from Gurram and an arrow that didn't penetrate her DR notwithstanding. She no-sold every other attack and spell thrown at her. You basically soloed this fight. =)
I'm gonna call this combat over, I think. With Haetanga gone, neither the other Night Hags nor the Phase Spider lurking around on the Ethereal have any reason to stay; They both worked for her out of fear. I threw them in just to give her some coven spells (Repulsion, Waves of Ecstasy) and to use Magic Missile to whittle down people into optimal Explode Head health range.
You can pursue, if you wish, but their actions are going to be "flee" unless somebody injures one of them.
Hey Smashomancer, can you do me a solid? Ask Mighty Glacier what Jake's plotline was going to be and pass it on. Been following along with the Fisher St Club thread (such as it went), but now that it's over I want to know what was up.

So, I get the feeling that you guys aren't really feeling this scene. I was kinda hoping you'd mingle, strike up conversations with the NPCs you invited, try to set up alliances and trade deals, that kind of thing.
If you aren't interested, that's fine, but it means I'll pretty much be going from pre-written event to pre-written event.
I tried that. I made a mistake as a player, then when I tried rolling with it, I got shoved aside. Surly NPC or not, I would have liked a fair chance to do it. I tried again with other people, but I got side-lined again. By the same guy.
I'd be willing to try a third time, since this really is the exact kind of thing I like this character for, but am I actually going to get a chance?
Sorry if I come across hostile or something, things IRL have not been working out, but thats a really confusing observation to hear on my end.
Sorry. Harrigan is not really an NPC you can negotiate with at this point. For context (I'm not sure if you've played the start of Skull and Shackles), Harrigan is the guy who press gangs you at the start of the campaign. You work as virtual slaves on his ship and are abused by the other officers.
Later you mutiny, kill his first mate, and steal the ship they just took as a prize.
In this particular campaign he also beat you guys in the Regatta (the race that determined whether you guys would get a spot on the Pirate Council, and this island as your base) but was disqualified on the winner's podium due to (true) accusations of cheating.
He then challenged Jrahk to a fight, Jrahk accepted, and then Jrahk was brutally murdered by Harrigan (his body specifically mutilated after he was already dead in a combination of pure ragehateboner and a calculated effort to make resurrecting him harder and more expensive) before Harrigan sauntered off.
In short, there's LOADS of bad blood between the crew and Harrigan, particularly flowing from Harrigan to you guys. It's not just a matter of him being surly; He hates your guts and showed up here uninvited for the sole purpose of talking s+~& about you to the other Free Captains and maybe goading another of you into a duel so he can murder you more.
It's not really a big spoiler to tell you that you're probably going to have to kill Harrigan at some point in the future, and no amount of nicety is going to change that.
TL;DR: You picked the one guy here to talk to who has a personal vendetta against you and everyone associated with you. Apologies I didn't make that clear from the first conversation; I forgot you hadn't been here for any of the previous interactions with Harrigan.
Male Half-Elf Summoner 11 (Eidolon) | HP 88/88 | AC 18 (+2 SA, +4 barkskin, +4 shield), FF 16(+2, +4, +4), T 13, CMD 18, FCMD 16 | Fort +10, Ref +8, Will +9 (+2 enchant, immune sleep) (SA and Heroism: +4 all saves) | Init +5 | Percep +6
Eidolon stats:
HP 90/90 | AC 22 (-2 charge, -2 lunge, +4 mage armor, +4 bark, +4 shield), FF 19(+4, +4, +4), T 12, CMD 30, FCMD 27 | Fort +14, Ref +13, Will +9(+4 vs enchant) (Hero +2 all) | Init +3 | Percep +14, Darkvision
Yeah, that was just s&&!ty luck for you. Dont be discouraged from talking to anyone else.
As for me, I feel like I don't have much to contribute. That is unless someone wants to talk about sailing or my eidolon. For now, I'm staying at Gremory's side and aiding any diplomacy checks she makes.
That's all well and good. Fair enough even. But like, the other conversation I did try to be a part of with Pierce and Fairwind also just kinda stopped. Don't really know where I can go with that. I guess I can just kinda go for... something?
For reference, I haven't played any of S&S before.
But you did say that hag was tougher than Harrigan right?
Ehhh, sort of. She was technically higher CR, but had less PC class levels than you guys (she was a 10th level Psychic). Had she been able to get up momentum she could have ruined your day. Harrigan is at least level 16 that you guys know and has crewmates that are only slightly below that level.
I overjudged how tough that encounter would be. To be fair, it was kind of swingy by design. Without Ixrul's Acid Pit it could have gone horribly wrong.
I apologize for Pierce and Tessa falling off, I honestly completely forgot about them after I segued with Sorrinash. I'll get back to them in a moment.
Though that still leaves Ixrul and Daliya as relatively silent, potentially for the same reasons as Krom?
Breaking things up to hopefully keep everyone engaged. I'll have something non-social for Daliya, Krom, and Ace in a bit, I'd just rather avoid everything happening all at once. =)
Just a quick check-in on Gremory, were you done at the boat? You never responded to my last post from Pierce and Tessa, but I'm not sure whether that's because you didn't feel like you needed to or just missed it.
Sorry if that comes across as a little TOO snarky (and I probably should have called for that Int check earlier) but I really didn't expect you guys to just go running off toward the location of a flare.
