What's your setup look like for 3 to 4 characters?

Pathfinder Adventure Card Game General Discussion

Hey everyone,

I was wondering if you all could share a picture of what your set up looks like while playing PACG. I think it'd really reduce my anxiety and finally allow me to start playing the game. I'm looking to run parties of 3 to 4 specifically, but I'd love to see the set up for larger parties as well. I know this is a weird request, but I just need to know how to properly setup everything and avoid chaos and confusion.

Thanks,

Grubbnar

Don't have a picture handy, but there is an official Pathfinder Adventure Card game mat that organizes things pretty well. It's around $30, but has been a great way to keep things organized. Been using it since the game came out.

I believe he is playing solo though. So the Large Scenario set up Mat wouldn't really help him as its designed for a group of players. I havnt played a solo game in a while but I used a rolling chair in a table in a corner. This allowed me to use the player mats (LINK).

I would set up two characters on each side of the table and roll down the table like an assembly line. After last character on the end, I would roll back to the first.

There was a SnS post about a difficult scenario and a challenge that someone did and posted pictures of his table. The thread can be found HERE. Also if you dont want to follow that link. HERE is one of his set up.

OK so...I usually play three characters solo. I have finally gotten around to picking back up the Wrath run-through I abandoned long ago in favor of...well...just about any other PACG game I had going on that was better (which is all of them).

But I uploaded a picture of the setup for this on my desk here:
Wrath Three-Player Setup

Although...now that I look at this...not sure this will help you avoid confusion. My desk isn't huge, and while everything fits comfortably, the play area for each character is kind of jammed up against the play area for another. I manage to keep it straight, though - it's not too hard.

Go go Tarlin! That dude is a beast.

Mind sharing how you built his deck and power selection?

I love the stands for the location cards, that's a great idea for a solo setup.

Sure...so...if Wrath is good for anything, it's good for Tarlin. He really shines in this box set, and I think I said once before that I think he's the cleric they should have included in the box rather than Kyra.

There are a ton of great two-handed weapons in this set that you get as Loot cards, and Tarlin has several: Soulshear, Fiendsplitter, and Blancher, along with the Blackaxe. He also has Holy Radiance - not 2H, but still an awesome weapon and he's the melee fighter here.

For blessings, he has one Torag to use with Fiendsplitter, a Shelyn to help with his low wisdom (d8), and four Iomedaes that he can now recharge when he plays (last power feat on his role card). Only reason he doesn't have the fifth Iomedae in there is because I haven't found it yet - gaining boons in Wrath is pretty difficult.

He has Armor of the Pious so that those Iomedaes heal someone, and he also has Stole of the Inheritor as an item to give the option of using those Iomedae blessings as a super-charged healing spell.

Imperial Army Greathelm and Black Dragonhide Breastplate round out his armor set; Banner of Valor is his other item. Kamilo Dann and Chuffy Lickwound are his allies, because they're decent and he hasn't gotten anything better. His spells are Breath of Life, Cure, and Steal Soul.

The group takes a lot of damage - with d20s being thrown around in Wrath, difficulties and success probabilities are very swingy, and even with damage reduction I find I often just need to heal. Tarlin's hand size has been upped to 6 so that he can heal and still have a turn; he also heals 1d4+2 now, and recharges armors to get weapons from the discard pile to his hand - setting up a virtuous cycle where he uses 2H weapons to heal, discards them, and then gets them back by recharging an armor. He can also recharge those weapons to heal 1 card (power feat). His last power feat, which he just got in AD5, is to recharge Iomedae when he plays it.

His skill feats are +3 wisdom (to compensate for his low D8s), +2 STR, and +1 Dex, Con, and Int (some of those due to that Army card that gave you a bunch of feats).

So there are a lot of synergies in his deck, and he's able to cycle cards while he both heals and deals damage. Tarlin is indeed a beast - he's probably my favorite cleric in the game.
