Is it being rewritten?
Insofar as every word of the book was considered by me during the book's development, yeah, kinda. :-P
As Kalindlara pointed out though, there's a LOT of new content added. In some cases, it's just a bit more flavor or clarification added to an encounter here or there. In some cases it's brand new encounters. In some cases it's entire new sections. The "new content" is spread throughout the book, but there's more of it than there was put into Rise of the Runelords, I'm pretty sure.

Aight. Given the context of the main villain(ess), I imagine that a lot of that is being reframed in the vein of the current cultural climate over at Paizo?
I'm differentiating "rewritten' from 'updated to Pathfinder.'

Huh? I'm not sure the "climate" has changed that much from the time of this adventure path's original publication that it would mandate a complete rewrite of the "context". Or what are you talking about?

October is a rough month for me. Realizing no guarantees but is there likely to be copies left in november?
It's possible, but we recommend that if folks want to absolutely 100% ensure they get a copy that they place a preorder. Unfortunately, we don't have much visibility at this point in time to answer this with great accuracy.
I would like to know if the awesome cover illust of the regular version will appear in the deluxe edition ? I would prefer to buy the Deluxe edition, but I really love the new cover...
It does not appear in full color in the limited edition (it is featured on the title page, but in a monochrome treatment with text/images overlaid on top).

I am likewise confused by that comment.
The main villain of Crimson Throne hasn't changed, apart from being updated from 3.5 to Pathfinder rules.

So, a little late since I ordered it already, but I'm an impulsive fellow...
...I assume this is a separate purchase from my regularly-scheduled AP deliveries?
Yeah, I check boxes, Paizo sends me stuff, we're both happy.
But sometimes, I check too many boxes... (I have 3 copies of one standalone module, for example...)

Quote:Preorder Note: The Curse of the Crimson Throne Limited Edition Hardcover is not included in the Pathfinder Adventure Path subscription, but Pathfinder Adventure Path subscribers who preorder the book will receive a free PDF version when their subscription ships.
Ooooh, you and your reading the instructions and all!
What are you, literate?

I've pre-ordered my normal edition, since I don't see the $20 value in the "limited edition" since the only thing different about it a faux leather cover. (Not even leather... FAUX leather.) I should also say that the ONLY reason I'm ordering from Paizo is because of the included PDF version. I'm an Adventure Path subscriber but there is no discount on the hardcover edition of CotCT, which is a shame. Also the site did not apply my 2016 coupon code for the 10% discount ANNNNNNND I still have to pay more than $10 shipping. That's $75 dollars for something I could get for $46 on Amazon.
Overall, although I love Paizo products, I'm gonna have to go back to Amazon for future products. Free shipping and general discounts on hardcover books which make products 10% to 25% cheaper than Paizo.com... it's just too hard to pass up. It's a shame that Paizo can't reward its subscribers with better discounts.

I got the 15% Pathfinder Advantage discount on my preorder, if you didn't get that for yours I'd recommend contacting Customer Service about it. The 10% discount code (assuming you meant summer16 as I'm not aware of any more recent one) expired a while ago on September 5, and is no longer valid (which is why it wouldn't apply now).

yay found it! This is tempting, gonna be honest wasn't interested in picking this one up any time soon what with my severely expensive Lost Lands addiction, but this cover is soooo nice. I honestly don't understand why this isn't the default cover - it is way better looking.
Anyway, broke right now so gonna have to hope it is available next month.

shintsurugi wrote:AP subscribers get the free PDF as a perk for being subscribers. Everyone else has to but it separately. If I preorder the hardcover, will I automatically get a PDF as well? Or will I need to buy both seperately?
EDIT: I am not an AP subscriber.
I do like that subscribers just get it free. A nice perk.
That said.... I'd love a print + PDF bundle option. Something that brings the PDF down in price to a reasonable cost.
Like Paizo does for lots of other products on this website.
$32 for just the PDF? Sure. Sometimes you just want the e-copy to read. Paizo needs to pay off those production costs.
But when you're getting the print copy *and* the digital (so you can search for an NPC or have magic item stats up while also looking at the monster).... $32 + regular price is hella expensive.
It doesn't need to be free, but a $5 or $10 increase for a bundle would be nice.

Unless I am mistaken, the Book+PDF bundles are all Third-Party Products... it is the decision of those publishers to offer Print+PDF bundles, and Paizo is only making available what the Publishers have indicated they wish to sell.
Paizo's own decisions along this line are influenced (again, unless I am mistaken) by a desire to maintain good relations with brick-and-mortar stores as well.

Which is a pretty good reason not to do it for all their books.
But we're talking about a Paizo.com exclusive that isn't available in stores.Jester David |

But, again, we're talk about the special exclusive collector's edition only available here, on this website.
Stores don't enter into that discussion. If Paizo can sell the collector's edition and regular edition separately, they could also think of a way to sell a collector's edition + PDF as a bundle.
Not both versions of the book. Not every Pathfinder book in the store. Just this exclusive collector's edition.

Oh, gimme, gimme, gimme! I want it so bad, but I don't know if my boss will increase my allowance. ;)
The cover is leather you say? Looks so good to me it could very well be made out of liquid red gold filling in the crack and crevices of the soft, well-worn leather.
Sorry, went off on a tangent, being enraptured by the book's captivating beauty.
