Will there be any dividers available to help keep the cards in an AP organised?

Sadly I don't think so based on the picture. Really disappointing, I've been really looking forward to this from the start and that alone is a deal breaker for me. A smaller and more portable container is awesome to me, but not if means losing an important piece of the organization...

Unless someone knows of non-homemade dividers I can buy somewhere with my choice of art that would fit.

Is the 1200 card storage count including the removable trays or just the top two rows? Just gauging what kind of room the case will have for dice etc with a full set of cards inside.

I agree some dividers would be very nice. The ones in the deck box were great. I'd be happy with some dividers similar to those or custom labeled dividers for the card types.

Also single deck boxes with Pathfinder art might be a nice additional product since it looks like the dual deck box would not fit insideinside this case.

Is the art shown the final art for the product?

I have some serious concerns with this product. From the first time it was hinted at, I wanted to use it as a replacement for the normal box the game comes with (rather than just a portable carrying case that is sometimes used). However, judging by the picture there are a number of things that make me incredibly leery about it.

1. Lack of dividers, as Andrew mentioned. I have a bunch of dividers from MtG but I'd prefer something pathfinder-themed with pathfinder art instead.

2. The storage issue that Tiercis mentioned; if 1200 includes the removable trays that leaves exactly zero room for class decks. I want the entire AP to fit in the top, and then use the trays for a class deck or three plus dice.

3. The strength of the magnetic attachment. If I turn the box upside down while it's stuffed full of cards from the entire AP, I don't want the lid to open and cause cards to spill everywhere. Similarly, if it's laying down sideways (say, in the trunk of a car), a sudden change in velocity shouldn't cause the momentum of the cards to overcome the strength of the clasp and cause them to spill everywhere. I'd much prefer a mechanical clasp instead of or in addition to the magnetic one.

I have asked them about that.

Please see this post.

I've not got my hands on the finished product yet, so I can't comment on it, other than to say the magnet I was shown on a similar product seemed pretty solid. If you don't hear back from me on this soonish, please remind me.

So I see the more generic Ultra*Pro deck boxes in the preview picture, but would the Ultra*Pro Dual Deck Box be able to fit in it? I just logged in to place an order for the dual deck boxes for the class decks to see this, and wonder if I need to rethink my idea.

Just counted the story/support cards in WotR and got 150 between all of the following:

  • Character tokens
  • Character cards
  • Role cards
  • Locations
  • Adventure Path
  • Adventures
  • Scenarios
  • Locations
  • Mythic Paths
  • Troops
  • Redemption

That is including Ekkie, so really 147 out of the base 1170 count, leaving only 1023 cards to fit in the top, which has a budget of 1100 for single-sleeved cards. Include dividers and promo cards, and you still have enough wiggle room to take the full set in/out. All of the above listed cards can go into their own drawer with their own dividers, and OP proxy cards (from DriveThru) will likely fit into its own drawer as well, leaving 4 drawers available for class decks and dice (and really, based on product images it looks like you can fit dice on top of the cards and still close the drawers).

it looks like given a setup like that, it should be able to serve as a box replacement after all, except with one other issue I just thought of: can it fit the rulebook? To discover this, I perform some basic math. I'd likely be looking to lay the rulebook on top of the main section, which we see is wide enough for two rows of cards plus some thin dividers between them. Placing two cards next to each other on the rulebook with some space in between tells me that no, the rulebook will not fit in the top. Similarly, the height of the card tells me that I can't put the rulebook vertically in one of the card sections either and make it fit. So sadly, if one wishes to use this as a box replacement, they need to find some other way to store the rulebook along with it. Maybe it'll fit vertically along the front/back of the box if there's a small pocket to slide it in, but I can't see anything like that based on the product images.

I am looking ahead to running organized play using these for my travel sets. When I do those games, I have the goblin satchel to hold the full page scenarios and print outs, as well as extra characters sheets and deck lists since I provide many of my players access to my own class decks. So i would just store the rule book with that, or the digital copy i have on my iPad.

As a side note skizzerz, did you count the locations twice? Just checking since you listed them twice.

Whoops, no I just counted them once, brain fart in listing them twice :)

Any update?

Would this work to carry my class decks and minis rather than the base sets and expansions?

Can we get some dividers?

I have asked them about that.

Hi, Vic. Have they got around to answering yet?

I must say, the fact an answer has taken this long (for what seems a simple question) is annoying. I'm still going to buy one, but it is irritating - it kind of feels like just because they didn't think it was a big issue, they don't care that I do.

Even if it's actually a complicated question, I'd have preferred being told that and that an answer would be a long way off (three months to decide between "yes", "no" and "possibly" seems to me to be inordinately slow).

If they're going to say no I have a printer who can make me some, but I'd like to get started, since it won't be long before the case arrives.

At this time do you plan on selling these at PaizoCon?

Paizo Employee Chief Technical Officer

I haven't seen one in person yet, so I doubt it. (That doesn't mean it's impossible... but the window of possibility is closing.)

Guessing the lack of posts means it didn't get to debut at Paizo Con. Any word on ETA?

Paizo Employee Chief Technical Officer

Nothing yet.

Sad to hear. I was looking forward to grabbing one or two of these. Guess I'll just keep waiting to see if anything changes on the website.

It's not like I'm not on here at some point during the day for 5-6 days a week.

Don't look at me that way...

it's your fault for making and selling cool stuff.

ETA bump...

Sigh. The story of this product has been one of getting nearly to completion and then events conspire to force a do-over. Sadly, I have no further information at this time.

*hands Vic a cookie* Don't worry Vic. I still believe in you.

But a "do-over" would likely mean not for another six months or so at least?

The current ETA is December 2016. Is that the earliest we can expect it, or is there a chance it will be available earlier? I have it on pre-order through an OLGS, but I'm moving soon. I'm wondering if I should cancel and pre-order again when I'm done moving. Any input would be appreciated.

I'm noticing other stores are listing this as September 30th (including the one linked from the UltraPro website). I'm not sure if that is a legitimate date or just a "the last time we took a guess" kind of date.

I'd trust Paizo's info more than those stores, so does Paizo happen to have any new info on a release date for this?

I wish we would here more on when this is coming out. I'm ready to throw money at Paizo as soon as it does.

Hey, the time has changed to November!!!! Does that mean we are close to see it come out?

Channel Fireball has it coming out at the end of January, so I'm greatly confused. But any news is good news.

NOOOO!!!!!!! The date switched to January now. I'm so sad.

Hi Vic

Not your favorite product thread, I'm sure. But are you in a position to guess whether January 2017 is a 'real' release date?

If it is fated to exist, I will happily wait until January.

from the expectation department : I pre-ordered on Channelfireball, and they emailed me :

support from CF wrote:
Thank you for ordering from ChannelFireball. We receive updates on a monthly basis from Ultra PRO regarding items that have upcoming releases and the current projection for receiving the item you ordered (84467 - Ultra PRO Pathfinder Adventure Chest) has been moved back to April 30th, 2017...

That is really disappointing. I just got into the game a week ago so the guys that have been waiting since January must be tilted.

Pathfinder Adventure Path Subscriber

So, I had pre-ordered one of these and submitted a ticket requesting info to Ultra-PRO a while ago. I received the following response yesterday:

"Hello,

I am not sure if you've already gotten a reply to this, however we wanted to make sure you know that the PACG Adventure Case is still under production as we had to change factories. This caused considerable delay in completing the product and we sincerely apologize for the unexpectedly long wait. Currently we are anticipating the new factory to complete production within the next 60 days, after which products will be shipped to our distributors based on their orders.

Regards,
Ultra PRO"

Channel Fireball is still saying April 30 for their release date. Seeing as that is only a month away now, and they show as having "stock" for their preorders, I'm guessing that date is going to stick around this time.

Prediction: Sometime around December 15th, another delay will be announced.

Pathfinder Battles Case Subscriber; Pathfinder Deluxe Comics Subscriber; Pathfinder Maps Subscriber; Starfinder Charter Superscriber

At this stage, I'm no longer expecting them to ever finish it.

I don't know that this latest news even counts as "announced" really. Ultrapro don't seem particularly inclined to provide any information.

Pathfinder Card Game Subscriber

Yeah. The super optimistic part of me is holding on to the last shred of hope we'll see this. But, it is now in the stage of "I'll believe it is available only when I'm actually holding it in my hands."

I'm going to do some looking around to see what I can find that might work for class decks/organized play. Basically, something that can hold a bunch of ultra pro deck boxes and some minis.

I would suggest the Large bag from Pirate Lab. I originally got one to hold my Wrath of the Righteous set while I waited on the two of these I ordered for Rune Lords and Shackles. Its a bit bigger than I think this is going to be, but it hold all the cards from a box plus several additional. I've got one and the quality and speed of getting it was quite nice. Its got a pouch in the front for holding character sheets or organized play sheets. It also has a section in the back that I use for holding my group and character play mats. Its designed to hold boxes and has different lay outs for the foam.

I'm trying to decide now if I'm going to cancel my preorder on the Paizo box and just save up for two more of these considering they have new bag art that looks pretty cool.

I just can't believe that something like this has been sitting in preorder for 2 years with almost no word on why its being held up.

Yeah, me neither. I've been spoilt by paizo's transparency, but in contrast Ultrapro appear to be only mildly interested in this product (at best).
