Musket + Distance Enchancement

Rules Questions

Grand Lodge

I have a couple questions that I just want to make sure about and I cannot quite fine the answer...

I am thinking about adding the 'distance' enhancement to Bertha (My PFS character's musket) which doubles the range increment from 40 ft to 80 ft; making the first 80 ft to be resolved against touch AC. That I've got.

But does that have any effect on the maximum range? Does that keep the normal maximum range for a musket at 200 ft OR would that change to 400 ft with the new enhancement since 'early firearms have a maximum range of five range increments'?

The distance enhancement doubles the range increment for that weapon, so a musket with the enhancement would have an 80' range increment.

Such a weapon could fire up to 400 ft, or 80' X 5 range increments.

I have a gunslinger with a Distance musket.

More than a few times I've had people ask, "Aren't you going to move from the starting area?"

My response is generally, "Why? You see those opponents way on the other end of the battlefield?" <BLAM> "They're in range."

If I remember correctly, ranged weapons tend to have ten increments, not five. Thrown weapons only have five increments.

Firearms are five increments like thrown weapons.

Sczarni

Advanced firearms have ten increments.
