GEN CON ONLINE 2021

As many of you have already heard, Paizo has elected not to attend Gen Con 2021 in person, though we’ve got lots of fun planned for Gen Con Online 2021.

The Gen Con Organizing Committee is dedicated to ensuring a smooth execution of online events and a large selection of scenarios and systems. We are proud to debut the two new multi-table interactive specials for Starfinder and Pathfinder Second Edition. While we aren’t at liberty to provide you with a ton of information about these two scenarios, we can confidently say you won’t want to miss them, and you should definitely consider playing both!

Online badge registration will open on June 27th, and badges for Gen Con Online are free. You will need to register for a badge to be able to acquire tickets for seats at virtual tables, so make sure you remember to snag your online badge! We will keep you updated with information regarding tickets and event registration as it becomes available.

PAX Unplugged

We wish to note Paizo will not be attending this year's PAX Unplugged. We are awaiting news on whether the show will have an online component and will let our community know our plans to provide online programming once we know more. We expect to return to physical conventions in 2022. Thanks, and stay safe!

Yay!

A shame I'll have to miss Gen Con Online 'cause I'm going to in-person Gen Con. I can't have enough Gen Con!

Oh ho ho! Lookie at all this here!

Color me signed up and ready to run some online tables. 2022 is definitely my year to return to in-person conventions, but that's not stopping me from rolling digital crits! (crit failures are still crits, they count!)

I just wanted to mention that the thumbnail for this post and the previous one (Pathfinder Society Intros) on the home page is broken on my browser. I'm running Safari 14 on macOS Big Sur.

I'm confused. Is PAX a convention where games can be played, or is it a manufacturer's convention? I went to the website, and I'm still confused. There was nothing there about games, other than you must have a $15 gold badge for some things including something called "Tabletopia". Is that the gaming component? I couldn't find anything else about "Tabletopia" on the site.

Valid concerns for sure. PAX Online is going to be an online convention supporting board and table top RPG game play. To participate, anyone is welcome under their basic access, which "PAX Online East will be packed full of compelling content accessible to anyone, anywhere, at no cost at all. This content includes virtually all of our panel content, a PAX Discord server, and of course, full access to all our exhibitor partners. " The $15 badge upgrade allows you to have access to some awesome PAX Online Swag, as well as a week pass to TableTopia, which is a board game virtual tabletop site that hosts a smorgasbord of choices (and where a lot of the tabletop games being focused on at PAX Online are hosted).

I keep seeing the headline and thinking its Call to Zo! Or maybe the clone Vo!

Looking forward to some of these!

While I would have preferred in person cons, I understand this might still not be the year for it.

Still, I will be participating in at least a few!

Both PAX Online and Gen Con Online will utilize the Paizo.events discord server for coordination. We will not have badge checks for PAX Online, as the basic show (including our games) is free.

We will have badge/ticket checks for Gen Con based on their convention. Cost of individual events will be listed in the Gen Con online catalog. We will update the community more once we've finished submitting events and having Gen Con accept them.
