Home of the Spared

5/5

I used this great flipmat for the area of Xin-Shalast (Rise of the Runelords AP, The Spires of Xin-Shalast) where 'The Spared' reside. The players loved it, and so did I. Small pathways between shacks make combat very different. Highly recommended!

Go to for random city-shady areas.

5/5

It happens a lot, you have to go into some dark seedy area that no one likes going into at night. This has been my go-to map for those areas, its a lot of small tight spaces, random nooks and crannies, and buildings a plenty without resorting to the map tiles.

The image is from the sold out City Streets.

I hope we can get an image preview of this set before I have to pre-order the City Streets reprint.

Nice! Could one side of this map actually be the missing puzzle piece to the Warehouse + Pub Crawl + Red Light District MEGA MAP? That would be sooooo awesome! :)

I agree with you.

It could be.
I guess we will have to wait for the final image/product description...

I guess we are both anxiously awaiting those images then. Hopefully the Powers That Be that gave the "go ahead" for this one were thinking along the same lines as us! :-)

Love the walls and gates. Perfect for closing the neighborhood up at night.

Any insights into how some of the urban maps could fit together (if they do at all)?

So far 3 of the maps connect to each other to form a big map:

-Warehouse connects to Pub Crawl
-Pub Crawl connects to Warehouse
-Red Light District connects to Pub Crawl

1 person marked this as a favorite.

I guess the preview images answer the question as to whether this map links up to the aforementioned city set...and it's a resounding "NO". (BOOOOO!)

It really seems like a wasted opportunity, all the more-so since this would have worked very well with only relatively minor adjustments to the existing (and might I add beautiful) artwork on one side of the map. (Shifting the orientation of the winding canal to make it divide the map horizontally instead of vertically and then adjusting the edges of the map to tile with the other two maps.) A pity...

Still gonna buy it though! Who knows, maybe the "Slum Quarter Alleys" map pack will contain appropriate connecting tiles...

Crystal just mentioned that this will work quite well in Hell's Rebel's first module for one of the side quests, so that's something at least

:)

....it took me a second to get that one. Good one, and a good map. I may have to pick it up!
