A lot of creatures !

I actually masterise Kingmaker and tons of animals paper minis are useful.

You can find here demons, devils, angels animals and dinosaures from small to gargantua. So you can use this for every paizo adventure path or even your own campaign.

The design are interesting, between cartoon and realistic.

(sorry for my poor englich, I'm french ... ;) )

Very good . When I finally got my printer to play nice churned out Brachis, T Rex, Rocs etc and they all look rather cool.... and helped win the final fight in Serpent Skull 6

Useful Product

5/5

I think that this will be a very useful product, especially for my Summoner and my Conjuration Specialist Wizard. I have a large collection of minitures and pawns but this product filled a need. Even if I have existing representations, this product provides an inexpensive way to fill in missing creatures and quantities.

Contains 88 pages of artwork and 36 pages of bases.

The great thing about paper minis is that you can draw on your own little horns or halos for fiendish and celestial versions of summoned animals XD.

This product is one hell of a good idea. :D

Even though there are some monsters from the Summon Nature's Ally list not included, I'll probably pick this up. At the very least, it will give me MOST of what I'll use Summon Nature's Ally to summon. Also, it will give us a bunch of animals that we don't have minis for.

Animals on Summon Nature's Ally list that are not included:
-Mite
-Stirge
-Viper
-Goblin Dog
-Hyena
-Ape
-Giant Crab
-Giant Stag Beetle
-Griffon
-Grizzly Bear
-Owlbear
-Satyr
-Cyclops
-Ettin
-Girallon
-Manticore
-Bulette
-Hill Giant
-Dinosaur, Stegosaurus
-Stone Giant
-Fire Giant
-Frost Giant
-Cloud Giant
-Purple Worm
-Pixie
-Storm Giant

Thanks Liz! And thank you guys, I hope this set proves useful. :)

Itchy, the set does include a Viper, Goblin Dog, Hyena, Grizzly Bear and Ape. I'll talk to Liz about adding the ones that are missing. Thanks for the help!

I've never bought a Pathfinder Paper minis product before. Any chance we could get a pdf preview to see what it looks like? (artwork, page layout, how to "assemble" the minis, etc.)

Callous Jack do you have a Deviantart site?
Guess that with some examples like many other artists have could be a good "preview".

DOH! How did I miss seeing the Viper and the Grizzly Bear in the list? *faceplam*

Goblin Dog, Hyena and Ape are not listed in the spoiler at this time. Dire Ape is listed.

Edit:I searched long and hard for Goblin Dog in the list, thinking, "I KNOW I saw Goblin Dog on the first read through. Where did it GO?" I just looked again at the cover image, and THERE is the Goblin Dog!

Was the intent of the product to fill both spell lists? Based on the list of included creatures, it looks like that may have been the intent. Regardless, this is probably one of the most generally useful Paper Mini products in Paizo's Paper Mini's line. At least, it will be for my group. We have two players (in two different games) playing summon heavy classes (a Druid and a Wizard). Also, there is a lack of animal minis available, and none are THIS affordable!

And, yes, I'm buying this when my next paycheck comes in.

Big thumbs up. This is going to be really useful.

You know, it would be fun to see these as pawns, too... Never satisfied, are we?

Fortunately for you, you can have your cake and eat it too for one low price and a little work!

Here is how to make pawns from paper minis.

Challenging Paizo to do better and more is generally a good thing. However, this in Pathfinder Pawns form would be in the neighborhood of $100 (or more), plus the shipping costs on that would be horrendous.

I see the Viper, Grizzly Bear and Ape but I do not see the Goblin Dog or the Hyena in the figures. Goblin Dog does appear on the cover but not within the content.

It is specifically for summon monster, but I will see if I can't convince Jack to do a summon nature's ally set.

I've been thinking a "City Watch" set could be nice.

(Although that could be an effect of my current rewatch of The Wire.)

Are the animals done in celestial/fiendish/resolute/anarchic/counterpoised style, or are they just ordinary animals?

Ordinary animals. Trying to do all the templated variations is a not-insignificant task.

That's what I expected (and for the reason I expected.)

Still, it'd be cool. (This is not a request: Even just doing celestial and fiendish is a lot of critters.)

They're paper minis, just draw your own pseudopods/bugeyes/gears/floating mathematics ;)

Sigh. I already did this on my own for my Serpents Skull game 2 AP's ago. I'm sure everyone but me will find this set very useful.

I like that there are multiples of many of the creatures as it will surely help out those folks that need to summon several critters at once. That said, for the most part I will only ever need one or two of each of these. Could we add pages at the end for the smaller ones that just has one of each for people like me so we don't have to waste lots of pages and ink to get one of each?

Hola Callous Jack!

What happened to the creative Callous Jack that made different poses for the minis that had multiples??? I've seen you do great work with that in other sets but was saddened when I did not see them with this set... I would have gladly paid more and waited longer for that. Where have you taken Callous Jack and what ransom are you demanding for his return!!!

Hi Hayato Ken, I do have an old account that I haven't used in years. I avoid posting paper minis there so I don't have to worry about the artwork being saved and passed around. That's why I tried to cram as many on the cover as I could so folks can get an idea of what's inside.

Hola Ezaviel_Malakai,

I'm sorry to hear you are not happy with the paper minis. Normally I do like to do what you mentioned but this set was very difficult. It contains somewhere around 110 unique minis. So doubling or tripling that would have been an almost impossible task to accomplish as it already took about 5-6 months to finish. :)

Could we please have a Summon Nature's Ally set, even if it is one that just fills in the missing ones, and reuses the artwork for the ones that crossover between SM and SNA.

This is the first paper minis set I've downloaded, and I'm not sure how the gargantuan ones are supposed to be put together. Can anyone describe it, or at least link me to some pictures of what they're supposed to look like when assembled?

Broggly, download the Pathfinder Paper Minis Instructions to get you started. I have not yet purchased this product (awaiting next paycheck), but I assume that the Gargantuan minis work just like the Small and Medium minis, only larger...

The link that Itchy posted should help although I don't remember it addressing Gargantuan minis specifically. Each mini takes up a full page so after printing them out, just glue the backs together. They should line up perfectly so then it just a matter of cutting out whatever amount of white space you don't want. The black bar beneath the mini's feet can fold so that you can either glue that to the base OR cut the base in half and glue it on top of the black bar.

I hope that made sense...

These look good; your art has improved a lot with practice, since I last saw it.

Another way to base is to push flats into a scored piece of foamcore of the right base size.
That way they can be taken apart at the end of the session, and stored flat in less space.

I like Sanwah68's idea: Copy all the SNA monsters out of this product, make new art for the SNA creatures that aren't on the SM spell list. Slap it all together, spank it on the bottom and sell it to me for another $10. I'll pay it, and be thankful for it!

I suppose they could even sell two different products:

1: Summon Nature's Ally - containing all of the Summon Nature's Ally monsters (as stated above)

2: Summon Nature's Ally supplement to Summon Monster - containing only the Animals that are not common to both spell sets. The idea is that if you have already bought THIS product, you can buy a lower priced SNA Supplement to get to you to the full complement of SNA creatures.

I suppose you could also sell a Third Product:

3: Summon Monster Supplement - containing only the Summon Monster creatures that are not also on the SNA list. Buy the Summon Monster Supplement if you already bought the full Summon Nature's Ally set, but now need the rest of the creatures for your Summon Monster Spell.

Thanks Snorter! I've had a decent amount of practice doing these over the years.

The foamcore would work well for the larger pieces. I never thought of that.

The 'aligned critter' list might also work well as supplements. It would allow you to spread the stress of drawing so many creatures out over multiple products, and allows people to buy just the critters they're interested in (A player probably just wants one alignment, for instance, and a GM has more use for Fiendish than Celestial.)

That's an interesting idea although I'm not sure if people would pay more for a subset of Fiendish or Celestial if they could, as Dudemeister said, just draw on their own horns, halos, etc.

My vote on the Summon Monster vs. Summon Nature's Ally selection would be to produce a second, complete set for Summon Nature's Ally. When you organize the files, make sure to put the ones that appear on both lists on separate pages (probably at the back?) from the ones that appear only on one list or the other. That way, anyone who is only interested in one list would be able to buy it with a minimum of confusion, and people who buy both will only have to print out one set of the duplicates.

Just out of curiosity, would people prefer a complete set? Even if it used many of the same minis from the Summon Monster set?

I think that wouldn´t be a problem.

Just make sure people who got both don´t need to print out some two times when doing the layout.

Callous Jack wrote:

My preference would be for the cheaper option: to be able to buy SNA or SM and then but a cheaper supplement to bring me up to the full complement of Summonable creatures. However, I can appreciate the simplicity of just selling each set, complete, even though there are duplicates of multiple animals between the two sets.

The reason I outlined the idea of the "supplement," is that, this being the internet, SOMEONE would buy both and then cry, "I bought both sets, and there were a TON of duplicate animals! Paizo is ripping off their fans with these sets!"

Either way, I will buy both. As Tamago and Hayato Ken stated, it would be nice if the creatures were arranged in such a way that we didn't have to print up a bunch of duplicates if we didn't want/need them.
