My buddy and I picked up the add-on deck so we can play with the new characters, but it's only two of us so I worry that adding in all the "c" cards will have us encountering far more low level banes and boons than we should. Anyone have a suggestion as to how to approach adding in banes/boons from the add-on deck with only two players?
Quick Question-

They have a mix of both boons and banes to give you enough cards to run up to 6 players in the box instead of just 4. They also have a handful of additional characters. Add on decks are set-specific, unlike class decks. You can play the characters from a character add on deck with their appropriate class deck in OP, just like you could a character included in a base set. Character add on decks are always mixed into the box, and can be mixed in even if you have less than 5 players.

For a home game, you are only supposed to have a single party built at a time; if you're playing multiple campaigns from the same box, you should mix back in the character decks for the characters that aren't playing that particular game (after writing down what cards they have so you can rebuild them afterwards), otherwise you'll be missing out on any boons and loot they may have. Removed cards are tracked separately too. Playing solo with the OP rules (eg with a class deck that isn't mixed in) may be easier than having to do that all the time.
Character add on decks are not class decks.
Playing with Kyra, Harsk and Merisiel with my wife and 16yo son at home for fun (their into it, but not so much to get into organized play).

I like it so much that I was considering playing some solo for fun and I presume that adding the Character Add-On box will give be a breadth of additional characters and enough cards to stretch across everything I'm doing. Correct?

Thanks (recognizing that the Character Decks don't play into the RotR boxes, right?).
So...love, love, love this game.

As for shuffling, if you square up the cards first and put the squared-up ends together, they should interleave just fine.

The US printer should hopefully be able to deliver more consistent color as well—there was a fair amount of color variance in the Chinese cards.

When we're shipping the US printing of a product, it means we have sold out of the Chinese printing of that product.

I absolutely love the game, but buying the character add-on deck was a big disappointment for me. I can still live with the different sizes, since they vary very little. Buy the different colour scheme on the back is inacceptable to me. Basically your deck gets 'marked'. Let's say a C card is on top of a location. You know then for a fact that card is not the Villain. Or any fancy card from the more advanced adventure packs. Same story with my character decks, where I have a few C cards only in each deck, therefore knowing pretty sure what card will turn up when you see your next card has the lighter background. This seems like a missprint and really disturbs me while playing. I feel like they should be replaced by decent copies. Any initiatives from Paizo to this regard?

What will happen when I buy future adventure decks, printed in US? Will the also have lighter backgrounds? In the end, half my deck will be dark, the other light. Not acceptable for a game you invest a significant amount of money in.

The solution is sleeving, using sleeves with non-transparant backs. Another investment of X $.

I hate to drag on about this matter, but I can hardly imagine being the only one bothered by this.

If we're playing with fewer then 5 players (none being an expansion character), should we be removing the character add on cards from the box before set up or can the expansion cards just be left in the box for set up at all times?

In other words should you only use the add on cards if you are using one of the 4 expansion characters and/or have 5-6 players?

First thing i noticed is that the box opened on the side where as the two adventure decks i got are open on top. Then seen the cards are just a fraction smaller! But looks like that is with good cause. Glad it is doing well enough to have it made in the US...sucks my cards are slightly off. But ah well.

Great game. And hope all the issues that are coming up with this set will be fixed in the next one!!
