Sometimes rules supplements read like the world-setting bible of frustrated novelists. While solid world- building is a useful skill, you don't always need four paragraphs of flavor text to tell you swords are cool, magic is power, shadows are scary, and orcs are savage. Sometimes a GM doesn't have time to slog through a page of history for every magic weapon. Sometimes all that's needed are a few cool ideas, with just enough information to use them in a game. Sometimes, all you need are bullet points.

Bullet Points are a line of very short, cheap PDFs each of which gives the bare bones of a set of related options. It may be five spells, six feats, eight magic weapon special abilities, or any other short set of related rules we can cram into about a page. Short and simple, these PDFs are for GMs and players who know how to integrate new ideas into their campaigns without any hand-holding, and just need fresh ideas and the rules to support them. No in-character fiction setting the game world. No charts and tables. No sidebars of explanations and optional rules. Just one sentence of explanation for the High Concept of the PDF, then bullet points.

High Concept: Since one of the most important class features of spellcasters is the ability to cast spells, and the Pathfinder® Roleplaying Game: Mythic Adventures™ rules include mythic spells in addition to mythic path options (and no fighter class features have mythic versions in any mythic path), this product offers mythic versions of the fighter class features to allow fighters to make more of their core abilities mythic.

  • Mythic Armor Mastery: Your armor is almost a second skin, a part of you that can be sacrificed to save yourself.
  • Mythic Armor Training: You have learned how to use your armor to help you avoid damage from most sources, and the knowledge that you have this protection gives you greater confidence and resolve.
  • Mythic Bravery: Not only are you extremely brave, but also, your steadfast nature can unnerve those who seek to daunt you.
  • Mythic Weapon Mastery: You are the ultimate wielder of the weapon you have selected for weapon mastery.
  • Mythic Weapon Training: You are amazingly accurate and effective with the weapons for which you have received weapon training.

You know the drill - 3 pages, 1 page front cover, 1 page SRD, 1 page content, so let's take a look at those Mythic class features for the fighter, shall we?

The Mythic Fighter can choose any of these class features as 1st level universal path ability provided they have the none-mythic version. So what are they?

-Mythic Armor Mastery: As a free action, when a spell, effect or attack would kill you, instead give armor or shield the broken condition. Now we're talking! Awesome!

-Mythic Armor Training: Add Armor Training bonus to ref and will-saves as well as intimidate OR sense motive.

-Mythic Bravery: Never become frightened or panicked, instead become shaken. Also, foes failing to demoralize you or failing to hit you with a fear-inducing spell or effect allow you to use mythic power to counter-demoralize foes. Neato!

-Mythic Weapon Mastery: When attacking with a weapon and not dealing full damage (due to DR, incorporeal foes etc.) use mythic power as a free action to deal full damage. Bypassing non-mythic defensive abilities always works, mythic ones require a mythic tier-check.

-Mythic Weapon Training: When using mythic surge to increase atk of the weapons, add the same bonus to damage. Also, use mythic surge without expending mythic power, usable weapon training groups the fighter has/day.

Conclusion:

Editing and formatting are top-notch, I didn't notice any glitches. Layout adheres to a 3-column portrait standard, of which I'm not a big fan. the pdf has no bookmarks, but needs none at this length.

THIS is how a mythic-rules Bullet Point should be - all killer, no filler awesome iconic options that never feel bland or uninspired, instead offering the amped-up-to-11-versions of class features, glorious and awesome - final verdict: 5 stars + seal of approval.

Endzeitgeist out.

This is my first official "mythic" ruleset. It's based on the idea that since mythic spellcasters get access to mythic spells, and important part of their class features, other classes should have mythic options for most (if not all) of their class features. There are a few mythic class features scattered through the paths, but not many and none for the fighter class's features.

So, this is a set of mythic options for fighters who take one or more mythic tiers.

This is very cool (and cheap!)

A: Are there plans for more class features for other classes?
b: What class features are already in the Mythic Adventures book? I dont remember seeing any.

The Exchange

There's something things for animal companions/eidolons/familiars/mounts, stuff for wild shape and wild empathy, stuff for domains, and that's just at a quick glance at the Hierophant.

Yeah, they are sprinkled about in the paths, ususally without much fanfare.

I still think it outs non-spellcasters at a thematic disadvantage, because they have fewer mythic options strongly tied to their class's core abilities.

But I also think there IS a need for Mythic Metamagic, so...

Again, missing from the DaD site. Could we get that added there please?

Yes, and my apologies. I am working on the DaD question. It will go up, it just looks like we're having an issue with it.

Thanks for the update Owen. Appreciated.

Liberty's Edge

Now I want this for all class features from all classes !!! (and Archetypes too, come to think of it).

That would work really well in conjunction with characters made from the "talented" line. :D

Some are already covered by mythic path abilities for specific paths. But for the rest... if this sells well and there's strong interest, I'll certainly look at doing more of them. :)
