The monstrous hordes of the Pathfinder Roleplaying Game Bestiary 2 come alive on your tabletop with this box-busting collection of more than 300 creature pawns for use with the Pathfinder Roleplaying Game or any tabletop fantasy RPG! Printed on sturdy cardstock, each pawn contains a beautiful full-color image of a monster from the second volume in the Pathfinder RPG’s core monster reference series. Each cardstock pawn slots into a size-appropriate plastic base, making it easy to mix with traditional metal or plastic miniatures. With multiple pawns for commonly encountered creatures and nearly 250 distinct creature images, the Bestiary 2 Box is the best way to ensure you’ve got the right creatures to push your Pathfinder campaign to the next level!
Bestiary 2 Box Pawn Collection Set List
Hundreds of monsters surge to life on your tabletop! Each has its own identification number for easy sorting. The Bestiary 2 Box includes:
As the name indicates, this box comes with pawns for the monsters appearing in Bestiary 2. The Bestiary 2 Box is made up of 246 different creatures, though there are multiples of many of them (there are three ice trolls and two fetchlings, for example; I haven't figured out any rhyme or reason why there are multiples of some rather than others). Creatures ranging from size Small to Huge are included, which means you're left to your own devices for Gargantuan or larger creatures. As with all Paizo pawns, these are double-sided, full-colour, thick cardboard pawns and can stand up to a fair amount of wear and tear. Bases are included. I've been using this box for years and haven't had any problems with it. Keeping the pawns organised does require some custom solutions.
In terms of overall usefulness to a GM, I would start with the collection for Bestiary 1 because that box has the most common (classic) monsters a GM is likely to need. Still, this box includes a few must-have creatures as well, including banshees, blink dogs, and hippogriffs. GMs running Rise of the Runelords will get good value for their money, with several creatures in this set also appearing in that AP.
Overall, it's a solid (if not quite indispensable) set.
Bestiary Box 2 Unleashes Planar Friends and Foes Upon Your Pawns!
If you're a GM building your resources to run your weekly tabletop game, then eventually you're going to want to pick up the Bestiary 2 Box! This is the one you'll need to supplement all of those amazing demonic and planar beasties that aren't covered in the first Bestiary. Pick this one up if you're planning to invade the Worldwound or take a trip around the Great Beyond. You'll find pawns to make all of those otherworldly encounters come to life right before your eyes.
Beautiful artwork. Wide variety of creatures. Sturdy construction. Must have collection! Nicely supplemented by the Wrath of the Righteous pawn set!
Pathfinder Pawns is one of the best product lines rolling out of Paizo in recent years. Everyone loves fielding miniatures at their game table, but the logistics of a collection that fills all your needs is a nightmare. Pawns are the perfect product for a GM looking to use great looking pieces on the table without having to worry so much about storing, organizing, and transporting bulkier collections of minis.
Pathfinder Pawns: Bestiary 2, much like its predecessor, is an awesome product because it provides GMs with every type of critter that appears in the bestiary. With these there is no need to find something that "looks like" the critter in your next encounter, you have the right piece already. The quality of the art work is top notch. The pawns are durable, easy to store and transport, and they look great alongside traditional miniatures.
I recommend this product to all GMs and gaming groups as a "must buy" item.
Kickstarters are for generating money, which I doubt is a problem for Paizo - it's likely more of "how to package them to have them affordable and profitable at once" and that's something no Kickstarter can help with.
On the contrary, kickstarter can definitely help with that because it allows people to pay more than standard retail. There is more than one reason to use crowdfunding - small companies raising large amounts with less risk being only one.
It's hard to replicate the contributions to a project one can generate from the upper tier backers using traditional models. That's where the big margins are (and that profit can make the base product cheaper for everyone). Judging demand for those pledge levels would be pretty high risk though.
Paizo have indicated they're not really interested in using kick starter extensively, but its not true to suggest crowdfunding is solely useful for companies with limited cash flow.
Really looking forward to getting this, and the NPC box! Is it likely the release dates will be pushed back again, or is it pretty certain that this is coming out in August?

August release dates very rarely get pushed back because of Gen Con. As Eric Mona mentioned in his blog about the Pathfinder Skull and Shackles Miniatures is that all things got off to the printer as of this week and they are going to take a much needed break this weekend.

1: I wished all 7 sins would be put in for the Sinspawns, that would have been so awesome.
2: I really hope Tenebrous Worm has better artwork, this giant centipede artwork isn't even correct, the Tenebrous Worm should be more catterpiller like and be black and bristled not some red centipede.
Sad to see some creatures being left out:
- Goliath Stag Beetle - Especially because beetles also got left out of the previous bestiary box... there aren't any beetle monsters yet.
- Slicer Beetle - Was really looking forward to this artwork...
- Cacodaemon
- Compsognathus
- Giant Gar - Rather would have seen this one than a normal Gar.
- Jinkin Gremlin - very strange that this popular creatures aren't in, especially Pugwampi?
- Vexgit Gremlin
- Pugwampi Gremlin
- Arbiter
- Glyptodon - No love for dinosaurs and megafauna? And still no Megaloceros and Glyptodon artwork :-(
- Megaloceros
- Megatherium
- Arsinotheirum
- Cythnigot
- Soulbound Doll - Another strange one that didn't end up in the product?
- Twigjack
- Yrthak - This one I don't really understand why I didn't get an entree?
Anyway can't wait to see which monsters got new artwork in this!
If you have a wife, don't start your description of your $40 purchase with the phrase "they're like little cardboard cut-outs". I am getting no end of grief for buying $40 for cardboard. :(
Paizo, I love the pawns, keep them coming!!!!

True, it's better to start with "we are going to use instead of minatures" and then show the prices of minatures.
Just received my set of Pathfinder Pawns Bestiary 2 box today. The set looks great, but I did run into one issue. I am missing a full sheet of large size critters. I have checked and double checked to ensure that I wasn't just over looking them.
I have contacted customer support and expect to get it resolved quickly but in the meantime I was wondering if anyone else had noticed this with their sets?
While I haven't checked to see if I have the same issue as Temperstorm, I did get a misprint on one of the pages. The page that has Faceless Stalkers(2) has one correctly cut as a medium character, but the second one and another monster are sharing the same cutout as a large monster. Coincidentally, there is a large monster stamped across two medium cutouts on the same page.
I'll be sending a note to customer service once I get a chance to take pics to share with them.

Misprints are not super common, but they do occur. Customer Service is happy to assist with getting you the correct sheets. We do appreciate pictures when possible as it helps us better communicate with our printer on what kinds of errors we are seeing. At the moment, customer service is still digging out from our busiest month ever, so we are a bit slow on emails. Thank you for your patience.
If you placed the order through paizo.com just include your order number with your email. If you purchased it through another retailer, please check in with them. They should be able to refund or exchange your product and take care of their credit/refund through their distributor.
Almost a fourth of the tokens in my set don't pop out of their sheets nicely. The thin plastic layer on the pawns rips on a good number of them, despite being very careful and slow with removing them. So I have lots of pawns that are torn. :(

omg! I had the same thing happen with my NPC Codex. I found that if you start by pushing them slowly at bottom edge from the "front" (or punched side) they come out a bit more cleanly. Of course a lot of them already had torn plastic coatings on the back before I figured out the optimal removal technique. My "Large Wolf" has the coating half way hanging off and I'm still not sure if I should try to glue it back down or just peal it all the way off. :/

I had this problem with my NPC Codex Box as well as this one. I have a Gem Sorcerer with half the image ripped off on one side. :( As Arikiel said, punching slowly from the "front" seems to work best, though many of my new swarms have plastic edges hanging off which I can't seem to get off completely...
