The belly of the beast, the heart of the evil, the pits of despair, these and many other names are given for the dangers that the PCs face as they explore the Inner Temple, the Upper Cloisters, and the dread Mausoleum high in the upper fanes of the Hidden Citadel—heights where the few who enter find that they have come too far to turn back.

You've got to love organic adventures, especially one like this one that has:

Spoiler:
a 1% chance of an encounter with the CR 35 version of Orcus himself (full stats thoughtfully provided to make that instant TPK easier to track for the GM).

Over the top guys. Love it.

Very curious to see a review of this one, as it could wind up becoming the grand finale to my 1-20 homebrew campaign!

I agree, I really appreciated that part.

I would make that die roll out in the open (without telling my party why) but I just know....that kind of thing always seems to happen to my poor PCs. ;p

A couple of years ago, I ran a free module I found on the web that involved closing a gate to the negative plane as part of the "epic" conclusion. One of the solutions listed was that the players would probably try holy water but it would only have a 1% chance for working. Well, it worked, and TS 12 would be perfect for my revenge on them!!

Never mind, I thought TS12 was the final one. I see there are 14 expected?

Yep! Two more to go and the hardcover!

Can't wait for the hardcover....

Frog God Games

Neither can I. It will literally add even more literal weight to my RPG-design resumé.

So after that little chance of a whopper encounter can we expect one of the next levels to have the tarresque as a wandering monster? I ask because it's a Greg Vaughn/FGG/Necromancer style adventure after all.

Frog God Games

I think Greg mumbled something about an astral dreadnaught...

So nothing too extreme then.

Liberty's Edge

Chuck - Will you have a booth at GenCon this year? If so, what are the chances of having hardcovers available. Or will they be pretty much preorder only?

Has anyone heard any news from The Frog God lately about Tsar 13? The last update that I've seen from FGG is Dec 12th on their website www.talesofthefroggod.com. Hopefully Tsar 13 will be ready soon, as well as hard copies of The Black Monastery...

Also, is anyone else having problems accessing the ezboards forums from necromancergames.com?

I asked the same question on the Necromancer Games board last week. Their layout person is moving, so that has delayed everything in the pipeline. ST13 was in layout as of last week, with ST14 about to start layout. I hope they're able to get ST13 out the door before the company goes on a monthly hiatus in mid February.

There is another thread someplace where Dawn said that Black Monastery is in and they will start shipping soon. She said February 1st but I have not heard anything new in a couple of weeks.

I am not sure what thread it was in. I did a search and could not find it.

Problem is that when a FGG thread gets going people seem to talk about all things Frog God and it is a bit hard to find a specific post.

Lol yes...and I'm very much guilty of this. I wish that talesofthefroggod dot com had its own forums, especially since I'm having problems trying to get the old NG ezboards forums right now.

Okay, so I said I thought Black Monastery was shipping out starting tomorrow and then I picked up my mail and it is here. I just opened it up...

Frog God Games

Good to know, Shem, thanks. This means my copy is probably 10 days out. I am still waiting for my copy of TOAD to find me.

Dark Archive

I am still waiting for my copy of Tsar 11!!!

Hey im a Scarred lands enthusiast and i hear slumbering tsar has some monsters from that anyone know which monsters and which issues had them?

Maybe a Slumbering Tsar New monster list would be very helpful.

Don't have my pdfs in the drive right now but they have a lot of Creature Collection monsters updated to Pathfinder in these mods. Spoilers ahoy folks! This is a DM's product so I haven't spoiler tagged it.

Right off the bat, in the first installment one of the camp NPCs is a swamp hag. Note that all of the hags in these mods are based off the original Creature Collection versions and not the awful templated ones from Creature Collection Revised.

Hmmmm...just about every form of Creature Collection undead (from all three volumes) makes an appearance somewhere in these modules. Number 13 here (whose forum we're hijacking) had a really massive cathedral beetle in it which was also featured in the front page art.

Spire wyverns...

...can't remember what else at the moment, but alot.

Oh yeah! The tar dragon and woodrack dragon make it in a couple of installments.

Hmm interesting, Thank you so much. i would still be interested in seeing a monster list somewhere :)

That's a tall order and beyond my ambition. We're talking 12 installments so far and more to come and every one of them has at least one CC monster or other in it.

Excluding the Pathinder Bestiary (1st one) I'd say there are more monsters from the Creature Collections than any other source.

There are a few lazy conversions however: the ashborn arachne for instance have their 3.5 poison damage unchanged and working per round! That's not in accordance with their CR or with current Pathfinder poison values at all (1d6/round or 2d6 round adds up in a big frickin' hurry).

Hmm oh well thank you anyway. :) I guess ill just continue onverting all 600 monsters myself Muahahahahah

And reviewed here and sent to GMS magazine. I also have a review for the next installment ready. AND as soon as all have been released, there'll be another RPGaggression-post on them.

Cheers!

Thanks for the review EZG! In response to one of your comments: "While I'd still hope for key-less versions of the maps, I guess that won't happen."

Key-less versions of the maps will be included with the hardcover.

Thanks again!

Thanks to GMS-magazine, this review is now also up on DTRPG. ^^ And great news regarding the maps!

Also up on RPGaggression now!

Frog God Games

Thank you, oh un-official reviewer of all slimy goodness!
