Ok, so I needed an inn for my players to call home, and this dropped in perfectly. Didn't need to change anything, but it can me changed easily if needed. The menus are awesome, as are the NPCs.
Written with real motiviations, and personalities. The Crossroads Inn is a great addition for any GMs toolbox. I can't wait to see what Minotaur Games has in stock for the next Favored Terrain!!!
I already posted to Jason's FB page but it can't hurt to share here as well.
Love the details, especially the menu and I can see this inn being a launching point for many adventures. Would have liked to have seen a bit of the history of the roadside inn, but other than that it is really great for the price.
As a GM, I'm always looking for interesting beasties and locales to toss at my players. Typically, this is an easy task when it comes to monsters but locations are a different thing, at least for me.
Enter Favored Terrain. Here the author has not only provided an interesting location with flavor but also NPCs and plot hooks. Regarding background information, I would have liked to seen something for Knowledge (Local) rolls similar to what we see in the Monster Focus series but the excellent map more than makes up for it.
All in all a great, drop-in location encounter for any GM who needs something quick and has no time for preparation. All at a bargain price too! I give it five stars.
I'll admit, when I first read the phrase "Favored Terrain," my brain immediately told me, "hey, this product will be your ultimate guide to running encounters in an inn, how to use the environment creatively, both as a player and a GM."
After reading a more detailed description of the product, it feels more like a ready-to-use inn populated with NPCs, just waiting to be plumped down into my campaign. And so it goes into my shopping cart.
That said, any plans to do a series of guides on how to use terrain and environment in games? That's something I'd pay good money for.
Also, and this is really for all you 3PPs in general, I'm loving all these plug-and-play style products I'm seeing from you guys.

Yeah, I thought about that, but everything I came up with another name for the series, Favored Terrain kept floating back to the top. As for the terrain issue, I'll give it some thought.
