3/5

This is a useful miniature but it is very plain. The sculpt is nice. The paint job is solid white. It may also end up leaning slightly instead of being perfectly vertical.

Very specific and plain

Solid rendition of a classic guardian

While there certainly isn't a great deal of flash, oohs and ah's to this simple mini, it is a nice sculpt. I'd love to have a dozen or so to line a few halls and keep my player wondering if something is going to jump out and kill them or if it really is JUST a column. I came into mini's for RPGs late in the game for prepainted minis, so it is hard for me to say if its been done before. I have seen quite a few constructs done, but don't recall something that suits this particular guardian. There is something about the sculpt i really love and it is hard to put my finger on it.

Getting my Gen Con shopping list together. Does anyone know what is the largest number that these are encountered in simultaneously in Pathfinder modules/campaigns? Given the rarity and price of these, I don't want to buy too many, but I want to make sure I have enough.

Brell,

Do you already have a good idea where you plan to shop for singles? I know Paizo’s booth doesn’t carry singles (just boosters). I know of Troll and Toad, are there other booths you know of? I may peruse some of them myself.

As for how many in an encounter, the Organization (under the Bestiary) says they can be solitary, in a pair or a colonnade (6-11).

I shop at tons of booths for minis. I'm not sure which one I might buy this mini at. I know it is too rare to be in one of the loose mini bins, not many Paizo minis in the loose bins in general, but I'm sure the booths that sell individual minis will have some. It is really just a question of if they have it at a reasonable price, the same or hopefully better than on the internet. I just don't know how many I need, hoping no more than between 2 and 4. I don't remember the company name, but there is one booth that is normally close to Paizo's booth that sells tons of Pathfinder individual minis. It is extremely well organized with those white plastic put out shelves that they have labeled what set is in each drawer. They normally have the D&D Colossal Red Dragon guarding the front of their booth and I believe it is a husband and wife running it. They are very nice and have been open to minor haggling in past years, if I bundled things.

Ah yes, I think I know the booth you are talking about. If you are facing the Paizo booth from the main hallway, it is off to the left?

I bought quite a few Star Wars minis in those bins some years back.

I was just wondering if you had any favorites (booths) to shop for single minis, as I may stop there, myself. :)

I know the dressing pieces from Dungeons Deep will probably be a hot commodity, especially the Treasure Chest and Burning Brazier. I really think those shouldn’t have been rare, but uncommon.

I just wish the inventory for them would get straightened out here on this website so they can be put up.

Sczarni

I have seen as many as 4. I have not played or read all of the modules though, including Shattered Star for which this set is taken.

Sounds like I better play it safe and grab four. I was hoping for the sake of cost to get away with two, but I don't think I better try. This is the only set I didn't buy a whole case of, and have regretted it ever since. I have spent way more money piecing it together, than I would have if I had just bought a complete case. Never skipping a case again.

I'm preping that part right now:

Spoiler:
Book 5:
The first room they encounter these has six statues, then there's one room with 8. Those statues aren't columns but have the siccatite swords like the real ones.
The real ones to fight are only two, but they are hidden between half a mile of similar ones.
