A Pathfinder Society Scenario designed for levels 5–9.

Deep beneath the orc city of Urgir in the Hold of Belkzen lie the ruins of the ancient dwarven Sky Citadel of Koldukar, where awaits what could be the greatest discovery of the Age of Lost Omens: confirmation of the location of one of the lost Sky Citadels, built by the dwarves in their earliest days on the surface of Golarion. But reaching their destination won't be easy for the Pathfinders, and only the most skilled will survive Urgir and the terrors guarding the dwarves' long-abandoned secrets. Can they uncover the location of the lost Sky Citadel, or will the Pathfinders suffer the same fate as Koldukar—defeat at the hands of ruthless orcs and centuries of decay under the earth?

Written by Larry Wilhelm.

This scenario is designed for play in Pathfinder Society Organized Play, but can easily be adapted for use with any world. This scenario is compliant with the Open Game License (OGL) and is suitable for use with the Pathfinder Roleplaying Game.

A++++

5/5

It's not just one of the best of Season 4, I feel it is one of the best scenarios to date for PFS. It brought with it all the elements that makes one excited playing an RPG. It bubbled up all the nostalgic emotions of playing an RPG for the first time. Great story delivery, wonderful encounters and a memorable time. Excellent work.

Manual of Dwarvern Lore

4/5

One of the high points of this scenario is it brings a section of Golarion history to life for the players who don’t obsessively study the campaign material. The Quest for the Sky, the construction of the Sky Citadels and the downfall of the dwarves are wonderful stories. This scenario makes me want to create a dwarf PC. The combat encounters are difficult to classify. They all contribute to moving the story along, but they don’t have to be won to accomplish this. GMs need to thoroughly prep this scenario; there’s a LOT of material to consider. I recommend perusing Dwarves of Golarion and having handouts prepared for the players. Larry pumped a lot of lore into this thing. I have run it 5 times and it can go very fast for a Tier 5-9. Beware the dreaded double-sized maps within, drawn at the 1 square = 10 feet scale. It's hard to draw that much using only black and gray. Otherwise I enjoyed this scenario, it's solid Wilhelm craftsmanship.

Highly recommend!

Played this at Paizocon with a fantastic GM! A good GM can make this scenario absolutely shine. Definitely my favorite scenario of the Dwarven series. Enjoyed the story and the puzzle to gain access to the kingdom. Really like the map for the final chamber.

A+, highly recommend!

Good job Larry! Will be looking for your next scenario.

Larry Wilhelm is solidly one of my favorite authors

5/5

If at all possible, play part 1 (4–22 Halls of Dwarven Lore) and part 2 (4–23 The Price of Friendship) first. If not, that's okay too. This scenario by Larry Wilhelm is solidly one of the best in season 4. If your party is lacking in certain respects then you may not enjoy the full glory of what is available. A good GM an engaged group of players can make this story soar above most others.

Now that I've dealt with Halls of Dwarven Lore, I've got an idea where this is going. I'm pretty excited for it.

Scarab Sages

I can't seem to find the other two scenarios of this arc (I don't play PFS much and tend to buy only the szenarios I am interested in for my home game, so I tried the search function, alas to na avail...). If anybody would be so nice to help me out here, please?

Scarab Sages

Nevermind...I will now go on to feel a little dumb for a while...

There are three scenarios in the arc: #4–22 Halls of Dwarven Lore, #4–24 The Price of Friendship, and #4–25 The Secrets Stones Keep.

If I'm going to gencon to play this, should i bring a level 5 character ready to play? level 9? How does that work when going to gencon?

Any Pathfinder Society-legal character of levels 5 to 9 can play this event. If you don't have a character whose played through 12 games and is therefor under level 5 or whose played 27 games or more and is thus above level 9, there will be 7th-level pregenerated characters available at the show for you to use during this adventure. For more information on making a 1st-level Pathfinder Society PC and finding events to get it to level 5, see the Guide to Pathfinder Society Organized Play.

How much will this spoil The Price of Friendship if I play it first?

Sovereign Court Owner - Enchanted Grounds, President/Owner - Enchanted Grounds

A bit. There is a character interaction in it that will do a little spoiling for The Price of Friendship. Otherwise The Price of Friendship is simply the bridge between the two parts (the "travel mod," if you will).
