A Pathfinder Society Scenario designed for levels 1–5.

While many Pathfinders meet unfortunate fates in their ongoing explorations of the dangerous world of Golarion, some retire with decades' worth of treasure in their coffers, and their lives still intact. When one such Pathfinder approaches the Grand Lodge with the hidden location of her treasure vault, it falls upon a new generation of Pathfinders to retrieve from within a valuable keepsake. That they can keep anything other than the ex-Pathfinder's locket makes the assignment all the sweeter.

Written by Savannah Broadway.

This scenario is designed for play in Pathfinder Society Organized Play, but can easily be adapted for use with any world. This scenario is compliant with the Open Game License (OGL) and is suitable for use with the Pathfinder Roleplaying Game.

[Player] Flavorful crawl, great faction mission (GL)

3/5

My perspective on this scenario is as a player. For reference, I played it in the lower tier (1-2). Be warned, spoilers will follow!

I overall liked what that scenario had to offer, even if it was a very classic sewer crawl. The encounters were rather flavorful, and varied. I especially liked the statue encounter, because we weren't expecting this at all!

By far the strongest feature was my faction mission (I played a Grand Lodge character) - it gave the scenario a completely different dynamic, and actually made it very interesting!

I'd rate this scenario 3/5, with an additional 0.5 for the faction mission (which not everyone will experience), for a total of 3.5

Story: 2/5
Roleplay: 2/5
Encounters: 4/5
Mechanics: 3/5

Total: 3/5 (3.5 if played as Grand Lodge)

Competent, but unexciting

3/5

I have played this once at run it once (at Phoenix ComiCon). What we have here is your basic sewer crawl -- nothing more, nothing less.

Spoiler:

The good:
--------------
* A few of the conflicts can be resolved through diplomacy, clever thinking, and the use of a few obscure languages.

The bad:
--------------
* We've done this before...this is very much a "filler" scenario, with no ties to the locale, etc.

There is nothing wrong with the scenario -- it's just very routine.

Not bad for newbies, but nothing new.

3/5

So, I ran this 4 times at a con over the weekend. It wasn't bad, but wasn't great either. For newbies who aren't familiar with the threats presented, it can provide some fun opportunities, but for experienced players, it's very boring. The highlight of the scenario happens within the first quarter of it, and everything thereafter is a rather straightforward and moderately easy dungeon crawl.

Great fun with the Otugh, Bad Final fight

3/5

Three stars for a basic dungeon crawl, +1 for the very fun to role play Otugh, -1 for the final fight

Togg is a rare and delicate dessert flower.

Spoiler:
The final fight got kind of boring for the players without darkvision. At level 1-3 there's not a heck of a lot they can do about the darkness. On top of that the character get caltroped, so a lot of players would spend 5 minutes waiting for their turn only to spend a full round moving 15 feet in the direction of combat.

Spoiler:
There seems like a lot of interesting background in the dungeon with the wererats, but they effectively don't come up in the scenario.

Average

3/5

From a GM's perspective: This is relatively easy to run with minimal preparation. It provides for some roleplaying with the option to bypass some combat, or can be a dungeon grind. Your choice. Either way it is mediocre and particularly worth playing if you want a short scenario.
