Sometimes rules supplements read like the world-setting bible of frustrated novelists. While solid world- building is a useful skill, you don't always need four paragraphs of flavor text to tell you swords are cool, magic is power, shadows are scary, and orcs are savage. Sometimes a GM doesn't have time to slog through a page of history for every magic weapon. Sometimes all that's needed are a few cool ideas, with just enough information to use them in a game. Sometimes, all you need are bullet points.

Bullet Points are a line of very short, cheap PDFs each of which gives the bare bones of a set of related options. It may be five spells, six feats, eight magic weapon special abilities, or any other short set of related rules we can cram into about a page. Short and simple, these PDFs are for GMs and players who know how to integrate new ideas into their campaigns without any hand-holding, and just need fresh ideas and the rules to support them. No in-character fiction setting the game world. No charts and tables. No sidebars of explanations and optional rules. Just one sentence of explanation for the High Concept of the PDF, then bullet points.

The High Concept: Additional abilities that can be added to the classic handy haversack magic item (with the cost, weight, abilities and requirements added to the normal information for a handy haversack).

The additional abilities included are:

  • Handy Holster: Your handy haversack includes a weapon belt.
  • Hasty Haversack: You may remove an item from the hasty haversack as a swift action.
  • Haversack of Holding: Your handy haversack's main compartment holds as much as a bag of holding.
  • Horrific Haversack: A horrific haversack is larger and heavier than a typical haversack, because it’s main compartment is actually a small wooden chest.
  • Homogenous Haversacks: Homogenous haversacks are a set of handy haversacks that share a common set of extradimensional spaces.

Cool varieties of Haversacks

****( )

This pdf is 3 pages long, 1 page front cover, 1 page editorial/SRD, leaving us with 1 page of content for 5 variants of the handy haversack!

-Handy Holster: Add a weapon belt to the sack, allowing you to draw it as a swift action if your BAB is +1 or more.

-Hasty Haversack: Sack catapults the item in your hand, drawing is a swift action.

-Haversack of Holding: 4 types, all allowing the haversack to hold as much as a bag of holding of the respective type.

-Horrific Haversack: Comes with a command word and turns into a haversack-wood-golem if it is used sans uttering it.

-Homogenous Haversacks: Set of haversacks that share the same extradimensional space - if you can't craft a great smuggling plot from these, I can't help you. These are awesome!

Conclusion:
Editing and formatting are top-notch, I didn't notice any glitches. Layout adheres to SGG's 3-column landscape-format and the pdf has no bookmarks, but needs none at this length. The haversacks herein are smart, balanced and while the extradimensional haversacks should remain rare in order to not upset your campaign's economics. That being said, the haversacks herein are solid, cool and provide you with tools to make good stories. The Bag of Holding-haversacks are lazy in my opinion, though. Thus, I'll settle for a final verdict of 4.5 stars, rounded down to 4 for the purpose of this platform.

Endzeitgeist out.

Awesome!!!

Holy Harpy Droppings Batman!! This is amazing!

Its kinda cool, in my opinion, how these variations are ordered in increasing awesomeness, with the Humongous one being last. Again, this is just me, but I really think that one is the coolest and most useful.

Whoever came up with the idea for this product deserves a raise!!

Huzzah! :D

Dark Archive

The most common 'must-have' item in the game, and you are making it *cooler?* Oh, so wicked!

Now we just need a homey haversack that has an extradimensional space filled with a comfortable environment for a Tiny familiar.

Ok, I cannot ever read the message boards while on major painkillers again because I at first read "homey" haversack as "horny" haversack. The mind reeled at the prospect.

Don't feel bad, I'm not on painkillers, just wearing glasses that badly need replacing, and that's how I read it at first also...

What's so 'horrific' about that Haversack? I could understand the name if the main compartment would be a mimic, but a normal chest? (Note to self: create a cursed haversack that works like that...)

Basically, the horrific haversack has a special surprise for anyone other than the owner attempting to open it....

This was worth a buck easily, nice work!

Why don't you buy it and find out, hmm?

That was the idea behind the name, yeah.
