Very Nice Indeed.

Well I finally got my Bestiary Box and I am pleased. Not only does this save a lot of time and money but also space/weight. Transporting a full miniature collecting to and from the game store every week is a hassle. This is just so handy and the new art is great. My only complaint would be a hand full of the art selections. Like the Centaur. It's too specific in it's depiction of a fully armored centaur knight. I would have preferred something more generic and thus generally useable.

I look forward to Bestiary Box 2 coming out soon. :D

Super Deal, Great Quality!

These are really great for new GMs and GMs on a budget and even veteran GMs. The price is a steal for the amount of pawns you receive in the collection. The print quality is excellent and is printed on thick hardy cardstock. The bases are well made. Overall an above average product

Bargain price - excellent quality

These are an outstanding alternative to miniatures. They are durable, look nice, work well and are quick and easy to prep before a session. There are multiple figures for those creatures you're likely to need more than one of (duplicates have an unobtrusive, color coding identifier to help track them during play).

There may be times you're going to need more pawns of a particular type for an encounter - but at 300+ pawns for $35, it seems downright churlish to expect more. I think the designers did an excellent job of balancing the need for multiple figures with the need to provide a wide coverage of creatures.

If you frequently use tactical representations at your gaming table but still rely on dice, bottle tops and assorted snacks...I would thoroughly recommend grabbing one of these. It's a cheap and easy way to share fabulous paizo artwork with your players.

Perfect Alternative!

I bought my box at Gencon and I am beyond thrilled. This combined with the Alea Tools magnetic bases and stickers have made them the perfect way to keep my battles interesting and organized. I did have to super glue the Alea Tools conversion pieces to the bottom of the bases as each base says Pathfinder on the bottom and it is like a slippery plastic. I have a second Bestiary box coming through the mail.

I haven't been this excited about an item in years. I can't wait for Bestiary 2/3 and Rise of the Runelords.

I received my two preorders yesterday (in CO), direct from Paizo. They look great, definitely wetting my appetite for Bestiary 2 & 3 boxes and the adventure path boxes.

There's several hundred pawns in the small, medium, large, and huge range with a useful distribution of duplicates (i.e., duplicates of creatures you'd see in small groups). There's an index on the back of the box, as well, with numbers corresponding to those printed on the pawns for easy sorting.

As for the art, the Bestiary pawns pretty much rock. Though they lack a tiny bit of the appeal/durability of good miniatures, they're way more cost- and space-effective. If you roll your own encounters, as I do frequently, these also ought to give one some inspiration by being able to rifle through them and lay them out quickly.

I have no actual criticisms, just an observation -- if your miniature scale is ~1"/5ft (typical), you'll be happy and all the creature bases are about right. If not, the large/huge ones might prove inconvenient, but then again it appears the smaller bases will hold the larger pawns reasonably well.

Other than that, I'm hoping a large-ish NPC/hero pawn collection comes out at some point, since the mix in the beginner box has gotten quite a bit of use over the last few months and are stating to look too familiar :)

Awesome. Didn't feel like paying $200 :D

Well finnally. Have been out of stock for months. I wanted to start a Curse of the crimson throne campaign but even if I buy the pawns dont have any bases... Glad they are coming back. Thank you for answering! Cheers from Southamerica!

Is there any confirmation that restock is still expected in October? I'm trying to decide if I want to wait a week or two and get the box with bases or just buy the PDF and print them on cardstock at home.

Awesome! Hopefully gets their stock soon :D

Price gouged by Bots :/

I agree, shipping to Canada costs 50+$ and doesn't seem to have any in stock. I have been waiting for this since February 2017 and it doesn't seem like I'll be able to get anything after all...

I ordered one on and they cancelled it because "they were out of stock". Now the same seller has more so I ordered again.

I also ordered from Total price with shipping and import fees came to about CND$73.

I do desperately want the bestiary (1) but... that $53 shipping is more than the box itself... and alternative stockists are charging £120+

Why paizo

Why deny me the one box with the most commonly used monsters?

Why do you not want my money?

They do want your money, so do the postal workers delivering it to you. :-)

I ordered this, but I'm a little confused how to read this line: This item is a Backorder. Usually ships from our warehouse in 1 to 7 days.

Does that mean that it takes 1 to 7 days to come off backorder?

Or that, after an eventual restock (at a currently unknown date), that it will ship from the warehouse that was restocked 1 to 7 days later?

I've recently been able to grab up Boxes 2-6, and I LOVE these guys. Just gauging how long it will be until I can complete my collection!

Paizo Employee Chief Technical Officer

I'm not sure where you're seeing that text—I'm not. But the backorder will ship 1 to 7 days after the reprint arrives (or the non-mint version will ship 1 to 7 days after your order is placed).

Thanks for the quick response!!!

Here is the text I'm seeing, copied and pasted from the end of the item description. I grabbed a little extra text before and after, but if you hit CTRL+F and type in "1 to 7 business days" it should home right in on it.

Copy/Paste from above:

I guess my question changes, though, based on your answer. It looks like there was a lot of excitement around the most recent restock, and I missed it! Is there any idea when there will be another?

Or would it be a better idea (with Pathfinder 2 coming) to look harder at other sites? I mean, I imagine that the minis in this box will be 100% viable for Pathfinder 2, but...I'm sure everything will be different when the new edition hits...different branding, different monsters included, etc.

After all, if there's a new book out there with the title Pathfinder Bestiary, it stands to reason this pawn collection won't be out there supporting it. There'll be a different one!

I just don't want to wait months for a restock that, at some point, won't seem feasible anymore from a business standpoint.

For the love of god please ship some of these to Europe. Damaged sets are going for 90 quid on ebay. People are making a living selling individual pawns to hollow-eyed buyers in clandestine deals on street corners. The only ones on Amazon are shipped from somewhere called 'Idaho' and I don't even know where that is. Please help!

Paizo Employee Chief Technical Officer

The reprint just started going out to distributors in the past couple weeks, and things usually take a little longer to get to Europe, but I'd expect to see copies in your stores within a couple weeks. (Though you should make sure that your store actually has some on order!)

As for helping you find Idaho, start by heading due west from Liverpool. You will get really wet for a bit (that's the Irish Sea) and then there will be a lot of potatoes (that's Ireland). Then you will get really, really wet for a bit (that's the Atlantic Ocean), and then you'll be on mostly dry land for a while (that's Canada). Keep going west, asking people where you are. (If they answer in French, just keep going.) Once they tell you you're in Edmonton, head south. When the density of potatoes returns to levels you haven't seen since Ireland, you've reached Idaho.

Ever considered branching out into Sat-Nav, Vic?

Hmm, people are offering me a foul porrige called ‘hominy grits’ and saying “y’all” a lot - have I taken a wrong turn?

Liberty's Edge

Would it be correct to assume that 2e Bestiary will have new art, and therefore there will be a separate 2e Bestiary Box? And therefore, while a product that would otherwise be edition-neutral, will have two competing versions and the 2e version will probably obsolete the 1e version?

i was wondering if there will be a reprint of this for 1st edition?? anyone know?

No, pawn box reprints are not economically viable. Your best bet is the incoming PF2 bestiary box.

i will guess that PF2 bestiary box will have the same monsters as PF1....hoping that is the case. Will look

We may go back and do some Pawn sets for some of the older Adventure Paths (though we haven't announced any at the moment).

My heart beats again with this post ser Vic!!
(pressing F5 ´till announce shows up)

It would be amazing an updaterd version for Carrion Crown with Carrion Hill as a side quest in it for the amazing upcoming PF2e Remaster (and at last pawns for it)...
