"Looks like the mold has expended it's spores - we might have some weird fungus creature in here with us."

Zimdoz activates his secretion, and uses his extract of heightened awareness, +2 to knowledge/+2 to perception for 20 minutes, and uses his extract of ant haul.

Zimdoz catalogues and distributes everything to the party for safekeeping.

"Blood! That's not good. So far, nothing we've found bleeds, we should be careful, maybe we should follow the blood trail. It could lead us to Khonnir."


There is no blood trail as such but there are bloodstains on the door to the north (C2)

Zimdoz attempts to identify how old the bloodstains are and checks the door for traps.

Zimdoz will help Alldur open the box after he checks it for traps. Afterwards he readies to fight next to Grezzag.

'For now, I'd like to spend more time with this stuff later if possible.'


Bloodstains mar the floor and walls of this hallway, while scorch marks and smears of ash on the walls evidence some sort of altercation having taken place in this area relatively recently. Four tangled mounds of metal and other materials lie further up the hall, surrounded by strangely coloured stains.

Zimdoz gathers up the treasure, distributing what he can evenly to even the weight out.

When he sees the hallway:

"Yuck, be on guard."

Zimdoz checks as they go for traps or hidden compartments. As he approaches the stains, Zimdoz attempts to determine if they come from organic materials, acid, bases, and the like, using what he knows about chemistry, alchemy, etc.

'Hrmmm' Alldur examines the piles of debris from a distance.

You do not find any traps. The stains are clearly blood, it looks like they are humanoid blood although they are strangely coloured, as if the blood was mixing with some strange alien substance

When the party is ready, Zimdoz moves ahead, wary of being surprised, trying to follow the path of the blood (if there is one) and examining the stains briefly. He will continue until he sees exits from the room, looking specifically for an exit one with similar red blood stains. If he finds a door with red blood stains, he checks it for traps.

I'm guessing the mounds are smashed robots?

Grezzag scowls at the mounds of metal.

"Looks like someone got in a fight with robots. They beat four of the metal bastards at least." he mutters.

As the party goes through the corridor, he pokes one of the mounds with his axe, as if daring it to make a move.


On closer examination Grezzag you can tell that the mounds of metal were once robots but they have been smashed into pieces, it looks like this was a result of weapon damage. They do not move as you poke them.

”Well, they are interesting... it would be interesting to see how they work. Are there biological components? Magic? Signs don’t point to either- so what animates them?”


A long table with various unusual stones and dirt samples heaped on it sits along the southern wall of this room, while to the north a line of metal desks with glowing panels and buttons are placed next to a large humming device. The heart of this device seems to be some sort of flickering sphere of reddish-brown mud or dirt. Dust covers much of this room, save for a strangely clean swath between the doors, which leads to the strange humming device.

"Someone's collecting a bunch of dirt? Makes no sense to me." Grezzag remarks as he peers into the humming machine.

"Could be something or someone was dragged through here." he adds, indicating the clean path. He bends down, looking for any blood.

"C'n you hear that?" he asks the others before answering the voice.

"My name's Grezzag. You're in some metal complex underground.. I think. Can't actually see you. Where're you talking from?"

Zimdoz nods, ”I can hear the voice, too.” He says louder, ”We are investigating the complex to find our friend,” looking for the source of the voice.

Alldur approaches the strange device in the center of the room. He pauses momentarily at the voice in his head but shakes it off and presses forward. He studies the strange machinery as he waits for a response to his companions.

Sorry about the spotty posting, the weekend got unexpectedly busy on me.


Alldur, you think that this room was designed to study geology. There are logs and records, however they are written in a language you do not understand

A group of creatures like you were pulled through this room some time ago by metallic creatures. They left delicious red food on the floor. Can you feed me more red food?

Leetia says, "Um, no?" She starts to move to the other excite of this room once she hears creatures like us. She wonders if it ment ratfolk or humanoids.

Grezzag looks around warily. "Well, we can maybe show you some more. But where are you? And who are you? How long have you been here?"

Grezzag, you can see that the voice appears to be coming from the container and it seems to contain a type of fungus. You are unable to tell anything about it

Zimdoz, you identify the mould as a creature called a cerebric fungus. It has resistance to cold and is vulnerable to sonic damage. It has some spell like abilities and has the ability to shriek. If creatures that hear its shriek fail their save they are nauseated.

"Well, it's not trying to have a go at us, at least." Grezzag mutters to the party. "Could know something else useful, although I dunno what that'd be. We can open the door for it, it we want to be friendly." Grezzag tilts his head towards the door back to the bloody corridor.


The mould's words become more insistent

Grezzag goes over and opens the door back to the corridor they entered, wedging it open with a chair.

"There you go, feller. Plenty of red food through there."

Can't think of anything more to ask it, although it doesn't seem like it knows much anyway.

The mould slurps off the table gleefully and heads into the corridor where it starts to make the most disgusting slurping noise as it starts to lick up the blood stains.

"Well, that's... something." Zimdoz shakes his head, "If there's nothing else you need er, fungus person, could you tell us about what you saw recently?" Zimdoz scratches his head a bit at his own question.


There is no response from the fungus, it is too busy soaking up the bloodstains

Grezzah shrugs as the fungus trundles off to clean the corridor.

"Well, we made a friend.. maybe. Let's keep moving."

He opens the other door and continues following the bloodtrail.


That leads you to C11- bit squashed but its where I've moved you to on the map.

Metal desks sit to the north and south of this long room, yet the most distinctive features are a pair of odd, bed-like tables linked by curving panels of blinking, pulsing lights. Moving armatures of metal extend out over the beds, each outfitted with glowing panes of glass and strangely glowing tools. The chamber reeks of blood, with great crimson stains splashed across the device, beds and floor. There is a strange metal creature in this room
