GM 7thGate's Wounded Wisp (Inactive)

Game Master 7thGate

The Dalsine Affair Slides

More than 400 years have transpired since the Pathfinder Society began in a humble tavern that has quietly weathered the centuries without incident. When a routine errand there uncovers a clue left behind by one of the founding Pathfinders, it’s up to the PCs to solve a puzzle whose pieces are scattered across Absalom—and whose prize dates back to the Society’s darkest years.

Welcome to my Pathfinder Society play by post of the Wounded Wisp! Although I am still getting some of the specifics set up on my end, I wanted to get this set up so everyone could stop by and meet each other so we can get ready to start some time in the next week or two.

Everyone should start by registering on Paizo's site if you have not already. Once you are registered on Paizo's website, you should be able to stop in here to say hello and ask any questions you might have.

Before creating a character, you should read the non-GM parts of the Pathfinder Society Roleplaying Guild Guide (you can read the GM parts too, if you want, but its mostly about how to do all the paperwork and stuff). You can find that Here

You will need to sign up for pathfinder society and create a pathfinder society character to play. You can do this by going to My Account -> Pathfinder Society, where you can sign up and get a pdf of your registration card, and Register a new Pathfinder Society Roleplaying Character that will give you an alias to post with for the game.

I will post later this week going over some guidelines for play by post and posting some more links to information that might be helpful, but for now, feel free to stop by and ask any questions you might have!

Hi y'all! This is Danielle. This is my default account, I'll be playing this scenario with my PFS character Vincenza Santorini, an alchemical sapper. She likes blowing stuff up, getting paid, and coffee. ;) Can't wait to meet everyone's character!

Hello! I'm Dave, a college friend of Geoff and Danielle. I'm going to play as Pollock Fisher (Online character sheet), an ex-fisherman beginning on the path to adventure!

The Dalsine Affair Slides

Alright, looking to get this moving a bit, although there is still some setup to do. April, I transcribed everything I took notes on or that I remember from our character building session into a copy I made of the pathfinder society fillable character sheet. I put that here, although its not quite complete (I need to do the writeup for the cat companion and some racial abilities): Preliminary Character Sheet. I'll see if I can give you edit privledges tomorrow so you can fill in the non-mechanical aspects of your character like Name/height/weight/hair color/etc, or you can possibly make a copy of the doc if you would prefer.

Ok, so we're getting ready to go! Posting a few links here that people might be interested in looking at.

If you're interested in seeing what one of these games might look like, this is a link to the previous game that Danielle and I played (I played Katswiri, she was playing Vincenza there as well): Link

I found this guide to be helpful, especially the first part; the Formatting, Writing Style and Posting Commandment spoiler tags are probably the most relevant to playing in this game, while the Advanced PBP section is a bit of overkill for what we're going for here: Link

Hello, this is thomas. How do I add my character to the character page? Is this necessary?

The Dalsine Affair Slides

Hi Thomas! Ok, so, for this you will make a Pathfinder Society Alias for your character. I might be off slightly on how to do this, but I think it should go something like this; start by going to the My Account link in the top right section of the web page, then clicking on the Pathfinder Society section of the My Account page. From there, you should be able to register with the society and select the "Register a New Pathfinder Society Roleplaying Character" link, which I believe should add an alias that you can select from the "Post As" dropdown. You can link to your character sheet from the Description section of your character, so the information is available for reference.

Grand Lodge

Male Human | Lawful Good | HP 13/13 | AC: 16, FF 14, Tc 12 | CMB +4, CMD 16 | STR 16 DEX 14 CON 14 INT 13 WIS 12 CHA 10 | Ft +4 Rx +2 Wl +1 | Spd 30' | Init +3 | Perc +1 | Bluff 0 | Climb, Swim +7 | Survival +5 | SenseMo +1 | Know(Geo, local, nature) +5 | Stealth +2 | Sling 50' 20 ammo | Net 10' | Dagger | Lore Warden Fighter/1 | Load: Light -7.5# | 6 gp 5 sp 7 cp

So, I've been thinking about my character traits, and writing a little backstory. Currently, I want to get the Grand Lodge trait (one natural 1 per encounter -> one +1 bonus the next time you try that roll again), but I assume I won't have that trait until I get some training in the Lodge.
I've been looking in the PRD, and have found a bunch of traits that could fit my backstory. I'm considering taking the Provincial drawback to get a third trait. Geoff, do you know if Drawbacks are legal in Pathfinder Society?
Also, my character isn't exactly from Absalom proper. He's from a suburb or coastal town near the city, but Trout Fisher avoided Absalom in an attempt to keep me from learning about the Pathfinder Society. I think that Shoreline is too close to Absalom to properly fit. Is there a similar town or city on the Inner Sea that could suffice?

The Dalsine Affair Slides

Drawbacks are not legal in PFS. You can go ahead and get the Grand Lodge trait if you want; they're fixed at character creation, so you can't take them later, and it is usually assumed you've had at least some minimal training before being given field assignments.

Hm...I know there are other towns and villages on the island, but I'm not sure on any specifics. We can assume you're from a nearby village, but not one of the immediate suburbs of Absalom.

For everyone, I will be putting various pictures, player handouts, and, when the time comes, the battle map up on a google spreadsheet. I added a link to it in campaign info; it currently has a picture of Drandle Dreng.

I will be visiting family from now until next Tuesday. Feel free to post in the meantime, and I'll respond when I return!
