The skies are filled with Skyships of all kinds and conflict between the powers is most often fought in the skies between their lands. Pirates and privateers swoop down upon merchantmen and warships alike to destroy and plunder all that they can, to build their own fleets and carve out their niche in the world. Power stems from the thunder of your cannons, the skill of your crew and the reputation of your vessel The rules here will provide for aerial combat—using the usual rules-set—and for the design and building of your own vessels. The rules allow for treating these Skyships as ‘characters’, as well as vessels. The truly famous ships are able to become named and feared in their own right regardless of who is at the helm.

    This sourcebook contains:
  • Skyship Basic Combat, Critical Hits and Movement
  • Building you own custom Skyships
  • Skyship Weapons & Equipment
  • Sample Skyship Creation, Ships as Characters and Ship Feats
  • Skyship Wreck Scenario Generator

Great product for the price

4/5

I enjoyed it. It has everything you need to use air based combat. I do wish there was some setting materials but hey, no complaints.

Great Product, Needs Some Polish

4/5

It's not easy to make an expansion for a mature gaming system. In addition to failing to do so personally, a number of commercially available modules didn't quite make the grade either. This finds a happy medium between capturing the imagination and the feel of airships, while mechanically lightweight and aligned with the Pathfinder rules set. I tried making airships work in Pathfinder before purchasing this, and am impressed with the ingenuity of a few of the mechanics. The heavy-handed solution I came up with is inferior to the solution this product presents.

As far as needing polish, I believe the word "sale" is used in a number of places where "sail" should be used, I fear a few of the buoyancy and propulsion prices may be on the low side, the turning rules need some clarifications, and I have one question about movement (I will ask in a comment, creators seems to be friendly and responsive).

Great work, great price, no regrets about buying it! I look forward to my next campaign!

Now available at Paizo!

YEAH!!!

Will get it soon.

This is a great product and I don't mean to nit-pick, but did you guys get Fantasy Flight's editors to proof this? There are errors a-plenty!

That said, I love it. Especially the construct cannonballs!

There are going to be a lot of weird steampunk mechanical devices for the setting so expect to see more. Plus if you think of any crazy things that you would like to see, let us know.

4 out of 5-star review on Skyships of Nova Avalon at RPGNow. Best Quote: Skyships of Nova Avalon is the most complete airship supplement for a d20 game in almost 10 years. Read it here!

I bought this supplement off RPGNow the day it was available and the review is right on about it being the most complete airship supplement. I love this PDF!

This is perfect for my Steampunk Pathfinder game that I've been running since last May. The party recently took an interest in flying and Airships and this gives me all sorts of awesome ideas!

Thank you so much for releasing this. I can't wait to see the rest of what Pirates of The Bronze Sky has to offer.

Viva La Steampunk!

Healing Potion/Bull Strength/Aid/Etc. Syringes and way too many other things to fit here. :D

As I mentioned in my review, there are a few questions I have about this product's content before I use it in my next campaign.

Editing Observations:

There are 3 uses of the word "sale", and 2 of them should be "sail." Surge forward action, and Withdraw action.

Questions:

A ship can move the cardinal directions and along the diagonals. It is intended that they utilize the "every other diagonal move counts double" as per the Pathfinder rules, or no? If so, and an airship has a movement value of 5, 8, 11, etc, is it intended that it can "shift" one square along a cardinal direction as the odd point?

Turning... ok here goes... This reads to me like a ship can turn at any point on it's initiative, but then must move at least half it's movement value, rounded up, to turn a second time. The addition "and may not turn more than ninety degrees in a turn under normal circumstances", does this imply that a ship may not turn more than ninety degrees per initiative round, or per turn-movement-action? This gets exasperated when you take ship hull shape into account with their extra turns. Example, if I have a ship hull with a speed of 4, can I turn, move 2, turn, then use my extra end of movement turn to have turned a total of 135 degrees?

So im liking the PDF so far, however i wish it came with a sheet for the airship.
