Is this a sequel to the Adventurers Handbook?

Yes-and-no.

Genius Guide, Volume 2 is going to be a compilation-and-expansion of our Loot 4 Less line of products. That does make ti a sequel to Adventurer's Handbook (in that it's Our Best Stuff, made Even Better), but it's very different kind of material.

I think it's safe to assume there will be an "Adventurer's Handbook II" with more of that kind of material, but it'll be later. And we probably won't call it Adventurer's Handbook II.

Is there a an estimated release date?

Late summer/early Fall/Hyrum may kill me for saying that much.

Hm, just bought the first compilation. Which exact pdfs will be included in this compilation? Just asking cause I'm interested in the book and think about preordering...

I *believe* this one is Loot 4 Less 1-8.

Ok, want it, put it into my preorder list. ^^

Thanks for the quick reply!

I do hope that Kragnar's stats appear in this volume. He is already an npc in my campaign but I am kinda winging him. Last night in my game my pcs came into one of his shops looking for rowboats and they came away with a 'slightly used' war galley. It had only been used once...in a fairly disastrous sea battle but still. And they did get their row boats (the life boats on the war galley) so it was fair really... I'd really love to see 'official' stats for him in this!

He's not the only one who would want to see Kragnar's stats. Put 'em in a Web Enhancement or an appendix to the next Loot 4 Less.

A Kragnar web enhancement is actually on the list of Things To Do.

Yeah, we're ironing out the final stats plus his history, both of which would then go up on the website. If you want to see his stats as they are right now, email me and I'll send them to you as well. :)

Any new news on how soon this might be out?

+1

Any news?

While I hope to have something to say soon, currently the answer is no, no news. We had to reschedule as a result of various internal issues, and don't want to announce a new release date until we are sure there's no change we'll miss it.

It was quite some time when I preordered this. Any news yet?

Sorry, I am on the road right now. We didn't want to announce a new date until we knew for certain we would hit it. I should have an answer soon. Definitely before the end of the month.

Now that it's December, is there any new news?

I'd love to see a second Adventurer's Handbook in print! I would think it would be pretty popular. I know my old DM has the Adventurer's Handbook and really likes it.

Sorry, I missed the previous note!

Lots of internal news... no news to be shared with the outside world yet. I honestly hope to have news next week, but we're waiting for some things to happen before we make another announcement, so we don't get egg on our face twice for being wrong about the release date.

News update soon?

The text is done, and we're getting it laid out. After that, we'll know when it goes to print.

Will there be a Print / PDF version available?

Hey there TAD. I hope that things are going well for you.

I have this puppy waiting on pre-order on another site but I would love to know when it's going to drop. I printed out all the Loot for less pdfs I bought but an actual book is much more to my wanting.

Scarab Sages

This product is going to go be a full print book, but we don't want to announce a new date until layout is done, so we don't have another error on our part.

I do hope there are plans down the line for more print outs from the magic line among others. I have some plans on making a ranger/druid using Air magic as one of the sources of his spell power and yes I want him to use the Storm Lord options and forgo wild shape. That's one of the best ideas I've seen.

It's on our to do list, though we have to balance new projects with ongoing lines and the random, amazing opportunities that pop up from time to time.

I'm glad you like it!

You keep putting out new stuff and eventually offer the works in print later and I'll keep getting your stuff. As far as I'm concerned the slogans attributed to Genius Guides "We Err on the Side of Awesome" and "We Make Stuff People Want to Play" are entirely accurate.

How close is the layout to being done at this point?

Bump.

I'd really like to know what the 411 is.

Scarab Sages

Sorry, I somehow missed your last post.

Layout is nearly done... and then we had to change our business plan. I'm not going to go into details here, but in the process of getting our ducks in a row, some of those ducks got shot by a cold does reality that wasn't what we wanted it to be.

I'm still dedicated to getting L4L compilations in print, but at this point that's not happening before Gen Con of this this year, and it's likely to be in a different format. This is exactly why we didn't announce anything until we were sure we could hit a date, and now we're back to trying to make our long-term plans make sense in the current market. We're very fortunate to have the advice of some very savvy business folks, and they are working with us to make this happen.

But now I'm no longer sure exactly when that's going to happen. As soon as we have this pinned down, we'll make a public announcement.

I see you put out a book of sea monsters that just went to my wish list on DriveThru. You guys make some good stuff and there is always room for more sea monsters for any GM with even half-baked plans for a pirate or explorer campaign floating about in his noggin.

Thanks! It's also available here on Paizo, and I even have a thread that lists the monsters included, if you're interested.

A part of me is forever a pirate. Knowing the list only whets my appetite.
