Fun for all!

*****

I am currently playing a High Goblin rogue in "Rise Of The Runelords" and I'm loving it. The concept is great, including perfect for flavor for playing a good-aligned goblin if you so choose (our poor ranger).

The racial abilities are perfect too. At first level, between stats, traits and racial crunch, I had a +17 to my stealth score. I agree with a poster in the product discussion that maybe a boost to Intelligence instead of Wisdom may have made more sense, but it is my no means a deal breaker. Plus, it allows the perfect excuse to role play as the comedy sidekick. :)

Further testimonial from a friend of mine playing a High Goblin in "Skull & Shackles":
"Goblins are supposed to suck. Why don't I suck?!"
(True story.)

Best of all, the PDF is FREE! So really, you have no excuse to to not at least try it out. :)

Why the Charisma penalty if they're leader-types?

Goblins have a Cha penalty. We wanted to keep as much of the crunch of high goblins the same as goblins as possible. Goblins have a net +0 on their ability scores. So we added a +2 Wis bonus. (It was either the Wis bonus or an Int bonus and we couldn't believe that any goblinoids would have an Int bonus.)

This comes very late, I know but I think an Int bonus would have been more suitable actually, wisdom suggests clear thought, sanity and common sense, which is a very VERY unlikely trait for a goblin, especially the kind you see in the pathfinder world.

Intelligence is just the ability to calculate, make connections, analyze and learn, these things you are much more likely to see a goblin do. There are examples even in goblin characteristics that suggest wit, for example to use fire because it does a lot of damage while you dont need any physical strength to wield it.

What do you think you would be more likely to see? A mad scientist goblin, or a zen master goblin?

I think it would be the mad scientist.

I just want to say thank you to Nathan for an AWESOME 5-Star Review!

I don't know if you check these. Might e-mail you if I can (I know you're still producing material).

The High Goblin; Can we assume it has the 'Goblinoid' subtype?

There's a lot of feats, racial traits, class options, etc... and I don't see why he wouldn't be.

Just looking for confirmation. Thanks.

Yes. It is goblinoid. All feats, traits, etc that a goblin can use, a high goblin can use.
