The smell of fresh foliage mingles with the metallic tang of blood as you stare down the slavering beast. The forest clearing hums with the sounds of a thousand insects, waiting to feed on the loser. The wild is no place for the weak!

The Kingmaker Adventure Path takes heroes from the comfort of Brevoy into to the deadly Stolen Lands, where they match wits and steel against wild beasts, bloodthirsty bandits, and mad fey. Everything You Need

5/5

This was already one of my favorite Paper Mini sets. The updated version now includes everything you need for the adventure. It even has distinctive figures, labelled with names, for each of the NPCs from bandits to kobolds to mites.

This product line keeps getting better and better. They pack a lot of bang for your buck.

Great stuff!

5/5

Great update! These are great products! Sadly the update came after my players already finished the #31 but the fact that I still get the updated copy for no additional price is awesome! Great stuff, I'd love to see more updates for kingmaker!

Great Product!

Just bought both this and the Paper Minis for Path #32 and all I can say is all my fellow players loved them! Of particular note was the artist's style. I was quite surprised with the quality of this product given the price.

Good Stuff

4/5

The first paper-mini pack I bought! Was a bit disappointed in the absence of owlbears and centipedes. The kobolds are lacking some soot!

Still, didn't stop me from buying the second set.

Great job Crystal!

A nice set with some awesome Kobolds

5/5

Picked up this set a while back. A great set of minis for those playing in the Stolen Lands. Almost all of the monsters you need are included.

The kobolds look great (a little beefier than the skinny ones in the bestiary, which is a good thing) and they all have personality.

The mites look good too. I especially like the "harry potter" look of the scarf and jacket combined with the sinistter evil.

And the extra monsters, hirelings, fae creatures, and of course the named baddies are also fitting. Crsytal's style meshes well with the other minis in this series.

Well worth the $. especially for anyone running a kobold or outdoor adventure.

Aww, kinda sad considering how owlbear-riffic this AP is.

Which reminds me I need to find a good owlbear mini.

Thank you so much!

I can't wait to get these assembled!

I'm running ROTR right now, but I'm sure some of these will show up soon. (I'll post pix when they do...)

These are so great. I don't have the Stolen Lands book, but I love what you've done. Way to go.

I know what I'm printing out tonight.

Woa, that's alotta minis!

Looking great

Yup; here it is! :D

It's not my best work, by any means, but it is free. :D

And if I've read correctly, the next adventure contains:

Spoiler:
A really, REALLY big owlbear.

So you got that to look forward to. :D

In the future please do not include a full-color cover inside of the PDF files that contains the minis. The USB interface on the color printers here do not allow users to select a page range when printing PDF files.

As such, I have to export all of the pages manually (which isn't really possible since Photoshop asks for a password) OR I end up wasting a LOT of toner. Neither option is particularly acceptable.

That's also cool.

(If you put together a file with the Owlbear and a bunch of your other character standups as a set, we could print out the Owlbear without wasting a whole sheet of cardstock for one mini...hint hint please. :D )

Brilliant Set! The kobolds and zombies rock!

Skillage.

And up to date. Excellent.

Outstanding! I've always loved Crystal's goblin avatar she uses on the blog, and the cover, I'm sure, speaks for what is inside. Also, there are four more sets on the way? I love this new approach and hope that Paizo decides to not only go forward with the paper minis but back. The Runelords was a good start and I hope they put another 3-4 with the Runelords and do the rest of the AP as well, and all the previous and future modules.

Love it!

Can we please get an alternate download that leaves out the cover page? Alternately, a download that contains all four pages as separate files would be even better. I'm really not happy about the prospect of wasting lots of toner and 1 out of every 4 sheets of cardstock. Printing from Adobe Reader isn't an option for me here.

Just do what I do. Choose to print by page instead of the whole thing at once. There should be an option to print selected pages (so do 2-4) or to print "current Page View" in which case you'll need to print it one page at a time.

Every printer/ reader combo I've ever printed from has had that option.

Yes, there should be an option to do so, but the interface on this gigantic Lexmark we have is a bit lacking. It's all-or-nothing.

Now I haven't ordered every single last paper mini product, but I have purchased half of them. None of the others I own have these title pages. I don't think I'm asking for something that wasn't already a precedent in the other paper mini products I've paid for:

  • Gnolls
  • Goblins
  • Bloodsworn Vale
  • Carrion King

Laithoron, as a temporary solution, you could try to create a new PDF file on your PC, containing only the pages you want to print. To do this, you should acquire a PDF-printer. This is a tiny software program that adds a virtual printer to your printer selection in all programs.
This way, you can open your PDF in any reader you like, then print and use the 'pdf-printer' and only 'print' the pages you want. This creates a new PDF you should be able to use on your Lexmark.

I can recommend CutePDF as the pdf-printer. Download here. It is free and has no advertisments or adware (my university also uses this as their default pdf-creator)

Some pdf readers can already do this without the extra software, like Adobe Acrobat Pro or Evince, but I guess you do not have access to these programs.

Laithorn,

I'm sorry your printer is making an issue of the title page, but its my understanding that we can't upload folders or .zip files to Paizo's online shop.

Bog beat me to the CutePDF option. It's actually a very useful resource and very user-friendly. I know it's not the perfect solution, but the only options available right now are to re-PDF your file without the cover or else use print the PDF from a computer station instead of through the printer's USB port.

I'll keep your suggestions in mind for the next set.

Bog, Crystal: Thanks, I'll give that a try and let you know how it turns out.

To be clear, Paizo is not the decisionmaker here. Pathfinder Paper Minis are produced under license, and they generally get to decide which products come out, and when they come out (subject to our approval).

Vic beat me to it, but it's true; this whole enterprise is really what Crystal, Callous Jack, and I end up working on. I try to take fan requests into consideration (in fact, I go out of my way to request said input, here on the Paizo boards, Facebook, DeviantART, the Tuesday night Paizo Chat, and anywhere else I can), but as three folks working in our spare time (we've all got day jobs), it's closer to a fan project than a full-time gig (though I am working on making it so).

Believe me, I'm hoping to have as much of each and every AP covered as possible. Crystal was nice (and awesome) enough to take on "Kingmaker," Callous Jack's planning on polishing off "Rise of the Runelords," I half-started the "Legacy of Fire" sets, and hope to at least make enough supplemental minis sets that one can run it pretty well (or might just need to hunker down and finish it up sometime soon, for completeness' sake), and if either of them or another artist wanted to, I'd take sets for "Curse of the Crimson Throne," "Second Darkness," and "Council of Thieves" in a heartbeat.

Crystal and Callous Jack have been instrumental in making this project possible, and I bet one (or both) of them will be interested in tackling other APs and/or related sets (sets of elves, drow, and demons, for example, would go a long way in covering any "Second Darkness" GM's needs, for example); however, I let folks jump on what inspires them to do so. And I'm going to be working hard on filling out monsters from the Bestiary as much as possible, as well as NPC/PC sets for the standard races, which should fill out most adventure's monster requirements.

Expect, in the future, more sets that allow a GM to use a particular group, like the Hellknight set; monster sets like the gnolls and goblins (ogres coming soon, BTW); and generic "Adventurer" sets for PCs and NPCs based off race and/or ethnicity. Time and interest permitting, I'm also thinking about doing sets of commoners, nobles, and possibly even terrain (I can probably whip up a set of trees and rocks in a week).

I'll probably start up a thread for requests on the Paizo boards soon for folks to show their interest in one or more sets and let us gauge interest, if y'all want me to.

Side note: I hate to admit how scrapped-together things are on my end, but I actually use CutePDF Writer to put together the sets I assemble. I'm too broke to afford Adobe Acrobat right now, alas.

All the high-end equipment on my end (Photoshop CS 4, tablet, computer, digital camera) are all gifts/donations from friends and family. In fact, thanks to them, the most expensive thing I own is my computer, and I guard its well-being with my life. :P

I feel the need to drop a post and thank N'wah for letting me be part of the paper mini project.
Thanks O Pink Octopoid One!
My future plans are to finish the Runelords set and after that...I'd be interested in Council of Thieves or maybe even Serpent Skull but that's a little premature right now.

Ditto! I just started an AP subscription and purchased the paper minis because I have no hope of affording the metals. You did a fantastic job on the first Kingmaker set, Crystal! I can't wait to see the rest of your work with the set.

I don't suppose there are any plans to do a couple of tatzlwyrms or the other bestiary creatures specific to the AP?

Can anyone tell me if these paper minis have unique backside artwork, or is the back just a mirror image of the front?

Thanks.

The mirror image.

Just as an update, CutePDF doesn't seem to be a viable work-around.

After selecting the page(s) I wish to print and selecting CutePDF as the printer, the output files contains only an error message:

CutePDF wrote:

ERROR: undefined
OFFENDING COMMAND: get
STACK:
/quit
-dictionary-
-mark

Neither rebooting nor reinstalling CutePDF or Ghostscript seems to help.

Mind you, I was successfully able to use CutePDF with other files such as non-passworded PDFs I saved from MS Office or Photoshop, and the Savage Tide Player's Guide. However, it fails ever time I attempt to use it with a passworded PDF such as the paper minis, Bastards of Erebus, the PfRPG Core Rulebook, etc.

Thanks, Phillip. I'm afraid I don't have plans for a bestiary set right now; I'm so busy I can barely keep up with the APs. Hopefully I'll be able to do a set to 'round out' some of the beasties I had to pass up, but I couldn't say when. This AP is HUGE.

These are great. Any chance of getting a set of hero paper minis sometime? Maybe one or two of each of the base classes including the new APG ones?

Actually, cavaliers and oracles might merit their own set given the amount of variety.

Edit: To clarify, I'm talking about versions other than the iconics.

I love the Paper Minis sets, so easy to assemble, and so darn useful.

I probably won't ever use plastic minis again for my games. What's the point? Paper minis are virtually weightless, easy to store, pre-coloured and easy to assemble.

Any chance of a blank sheet set? Just blank squares and circles I can quickly draw my own monsters on for random encounters and the like?

The Exchange

What about a second set to go with Rivers Run Red! I will buy them in a heart beat.

Just print out and extra set and do you art on the opposite side of the tab. My wife is a great artist. She's been doing scketches on a 3 by 5 and shrinking them down for my sons and her characters. She scans and then reduces using the same Kodak software she uses to tweakour photos.

N'wah, now that the Pathfinder Bestiary is out, any plans to eventually cover all the monsters in the book?

Hm, I just picked this and 3 more other paper mini's, but I noticed that this one is a little blurrier than the others. Intentional? The PDF file itself is fine but the mini artwork is of less quality than the other ones I purchased.

I really like the hellknights and goblins.

I know I may have asked this somewhere before, but any chance we'll see your Curse of the Crimson Throne counters done as a set anytime soon? I thought they were great and they cover pretty much the first two modules in the AP....
