The Running Rogue

4/5

I post this mainly as a reaction on the single review (at the time of posting) giving her the minimum rating.
This mini's not THAT bad.

Agreed, the pose is rather dull, not really combat related and it could have been made a bit more appealing. BUT it's a nice rendering of Merisiel. She's running (sneaking in a cartoonish way?), daggers ready to flash. And it can be used for any elven or half-elven female rogue you play (and carries a lot of daggers in her backpack).

BTW: I find her FACE is done really nice, not a small feat compared to some other minis.
The mini was a joy to paint.

As a conoisseur, of sorts, of Reaper Minis and rogues in particular, this is easily the worst representation of an iconic. The pose is awkward and not the least bit stealthy (looks like she is doing the "King Tut" dance) and her face and body look nothing like the art. The "second" version of Valeros (posed like the cover art) is dynamic and a good representation. I saw it being sculpted at Gen Con 09, it is the standard by which all other minis should try to EXCEED. Reaper makes better rogues than this one in their DHL line.

I've replaced the image supplied by Crocodile with one supplied by Reaper, featuring a new paint job.

I agree for the most part. Although, you can fix the 'King Tut' dance pose fairly easily by carefully bending the arms down. If I get around to it maybe I'll post a pic of my adjustments.

Note: this is a re-release of the Crocidile sculpt, which seems to have been more "here's the character sculpt them" and less directly from the art.

Here's my painted version of her. I've been painting a lot of drow recently, so I opted for darker hair for a change of pace.

Good job, though she just looks odd with dark hair :)

Maybe she's in disguise. ;)

I love it personally, and I think that sometimes white hair is used too often! :o) Good job boyfriend!!!
